Bazi: Life's negative lottery

At the beginning of this year, I had sent a note warning my neighbor Billy, a 40+ years old programmer, about two most dangerous months and days to him for the year of Rooster.  His chart has hit the Bazi lottery configurations of "zi-wu-mao-you"-- the most powerful clashes that people dread.

Zi, wu, mao, and you are the purest earth branches and also called the 4-cardinal branches.  These four energies clashes are like 4 cars driving towards each other head-on at high speed. Hence their energies are concentrated and powerful.  They are also called "peach-blossom" elements associated with romance and affairs.

When a chart has any two of these elements, it is not uncommon that 10-year luck and annual luck may bring in the other two missing elements to hit the zi-wu-mao-you negative lottery.  It could be accident, negative romance/ affair that may cause major wealth losses or even death or major sickness.

Other Bazi negative lottery configurations could be formed due to luck periods are:
1.  3-penalties like yin-si-shen/ chou-xu-wei
2.  Formation clashing formation like:

• hai-zi-chou vs. si-wu-wei or yin-wu-xu 
• shen-zi-chen vs. si-wu-wei or yin-wu-xu 
• yin-mao-chen vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
• hai-mao-wei vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
• si-wu-wei vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou
• yin-wu-xu vs. shen-you-xu or si-you-chou

3.  Three identical branches clashing one branch
 
I ran into my neighbor Billy while checking mailbox today.  "I'm glad to see you are still alive".  I said.

"Am I out of the wood yet?"  Billy asked.

"Not yet, just the most dangerous periods are gone.  You still have to be cautious till the end of this year of rooster."  I replied.

"What else can I do?" Asked Billy.

"Mow my lawn once a week and you will be safe".  I said.

"Do I look like stupid?"  Billy said.

Billy always helps families in the neighborhood remove heavy snow after snowstorm.  This is why I had sent him the warning note-- to make sure he stays alive (and removes heavy snow from my driveway when snowstorm hits).

Feng Shui: Sitting vs. Facing 山与向

When doing Feng Shui audit, the most critical part is figuring out the "facing" and "sitting" of the house because this determines the energy distribution within the property.

"Sitting" is also called "mountain" in Feng Shui terms.  This obviously implying the "back" of the house.  "Facing" is the angle measured based on the "sitting" of the house.

However, how to define "facing" and "sitting" is not this simple.  The topic remains a "hot potato" in Feng Shui circle.

Approaches to facing and sitting:

• Using door location as facing-- the opposite of door facing will be the sitting.
• Using mountain or back-support (buildings at the back) to determine facing-- door location may not be the opposite side of mountain.
• Using the "yang-est" side like big open space or ocean or the side with most street traffic as facing-- even the door may be at the back of this "facing".
• For Qi-Men-Dun-Jia Feng Shui (non-divination type)-- door location is very flexible and can be located in any trigram or palace.

For multiple storeys building with multiple tenants:

1. Using the main entrance of the building as the facing,  the opposite of door facing will be the sitting--- all the units/ apartments will use the same sitting/ facing.
2. Using the main door location of individual unit/ apartment as the facing,  the opposite of door facing will be the sitting.
3. Using the "yang-est" side (side with most windows/ balcony) of individual unit/ apartment as the facing,  the opposite side will be the sitting.
4. Combination of #1 and 3 with this rule:  For storeys 1 to X ("X" usually is 10+) storey, use rule #1 and after "Xth" storey, use rule #2.  The rationale is "Xth" below storeys will be more affected by earth energy and "Xth" above will be affected more by "heaven" or star energy. 

There are numerous arguments on which method is more "correct" using how "qi" or energy travels and moves around a house.  For example, the argument against using the yang-est side of a highrise apartment as facing:  qi must be carried by people into the apartment.  People walk through building main entrance, take the elevator and walk to their apartment door.  They do not and cannot walk into their apartment through the balcony high above ground.

I have deliberately skipped the argument on whether "facing" OR "sitting" is more important to keep this short.

Regardless of the arguments, most schools think their method is the best!  This is why if you hire Feng Shui practitioners from different schools, you may get totally opposite readings if facing/ sitting measurement methods are different.

Feng Shui: Ghost-gate lines 鬼门线

The term "ghost-gate" (鬼门) exists long before the term "Feng Shui" was coined.  You can find this term in the ancient text of Yi-jing. 

Ancient text claims that "ghost-gate" is in northeast or Gen trigram, where spirits or ghosts entering or leaving.  Ancient people like to build temples on this location to facilitate spiritual communications.

Modern views do not think ghost-gate is really ghost-ridden, but the energy here is very "yin".

There are two types of ghost-gate line.  The line at the center of northeast region (Gen trigram) is called "outward ghost-gate line" 表鬼门. The other one at the southwest (Kun trigram) is called "inner ghost-gate line" 里鬼门.

These two angles have the most "yin" energy within 360 degrees.

In terms of Feng Shui, doors, toilet seat, stove, fridge, air-conditioner, washing machine, hi-fi, TV, wealth position......, should not be placed on this ghost-gate line.  Inauspicious events or misfortune may happen if items with movements are placed on these ghost-gate lines.  

Negative events will happen to male owner mostly if outward ghost-gate line is violated and to woman owner if inner ghost-gate line is provoked.

Negative effects will be more severe if main door sits on ghost-gate line.  It will be the worst if this door is also facing a T-junction or other form-sha energy like a "sickle sha" or "heart-piercing sha".

Will someone "steal" your spouse or lover ?

How do you check if your spouse is prone to be "snatched" away by another person or a "cheating heart"?

Below is a list of Bazi or 4-pillars conditions in a chart that will have love competitions or "spouse-snatcher" showing up:

Male chart with numerous peer stars (bi-jian/ jie-cai)
-- Zheng-cai (+wealth) star stands for wife and pian-cai (-wealth) mistress for man.  Peer stars are the competitions that want to snatch your love.  This is especially valid for man DM with yang stems like jia, bing, wu, geng and ren.  If natal chart and/or luck period comes another +peer (bi-jian),  someone is preying on your wife or lover.  For example, ren-water male DM has another ren in his natal chart and/or another ren coming from luck period. 

Female chart with numerous output stars (shang-guan/ shi-shen)
-- Shang-guan (+ouput) and shi-shen (-output) stars attracts opposite sex but also the cause of losing one's love.  This is especially valid if +output is in the month-branch or day-branch.   It means her spouse may find another competition for you

Female DM with yin stem like yi, ding, ji, xin and gui
-- if her natal chart and/or luck period comes another -peer (bi-jian),  someone is preying on your husband or lover.  For example, ding-fire female DM has another ding-fire in her natal chart and/or another ding coming from luck period.

When luck period clashes or combines with one's spouse palace (day-branch)
-- assuming you have already married or with a steady partner, when this happens, there will be turbulence in your relationship.  This is especially likely when bi-jian or peach-blossom star (zi, wu, mao, or you) clashes or combines with spouse palace.

When the wealth star of a male chart combines with luck period
-- this is the signal of another woman coming into the system.  Wealth star stands for wife and mistress for man.

When the power star of a female chart combines with luck period
-- this is the signal of another man coming into the system.  Power star stands for husband and lover for woman.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE
Whether your spouse or partner is guilty of cheating or not, is not always clearcut.  It could be the "script" or fate already written in your natal Bazi chart.  The best strategy is to read the natal charts of yourself and your potential partner before going "steady".  If it is too late to do that, read the chart for the most dangerous years and avoid or keep an eye on opposite sex interactions during the period.  There are some possible preventive remedies shown in my "Destiny and Luck management" courses (see below for details).

Problems of excessive wealth elements in your chart

Previous post discusses about charts with little or no wealth star, the focus of this post is the opposite-- charts with too many or strong wealth stars.

Before we begin, a quick lesson on the relationship between wealth star and other elements is needed.

In Bazi, using the daymaster (DM, chart owner) as center of reference, there are 5 possible scenarios:

1. "what I control" is wealth element to the daymaster.  Besides wealth, it also stands for wife and mistress for male.  Wealth produces power and controls resource stars.
2. "what I produce" is output element to the daymaster.  Besides talent/ IQ, it also stands for children.  Output produces wealth and controls power stars.
3. "what produces me" is resource element to the daymaster.  Besides reputation/ health, it also stands for mother or older generation. Resource produces peer (DM) and controls output stars.
4. "what controls me" is power element to the daymaster.  Besides career, it also stands for authority, boss and husband/ lovers for female.  Power produces resources and controls peer (DM) stars.
5. "same as me" is peer element to the daymaster.  Besides sibling/peers, it also stands for competitions, coworkers and friends.  Peer (DM) produces output and controls wealth stars.

Now comes to the "bad" news about having too many wealth elements in a chart:

1.  Bad for marital relationship

-- strong wealth element in a male chart means multiple wives or mistress, especially there are -wealth (pian-cai) in the chart.
2.  Jinxing mother
-- Wealth controls resource element.  Resource stands for mother.  Hence mother may be chronically sick, DM has bad relationship with mother or mother has obstacles in life.
3.  Producing below average or stupid kids
-- Output stars produce wealth.  Strong wealth means output stars are drained to produce the wealth.  Output stars also stand for children.  Hence DM's children may be stupid, underachievers, incapable, unfilial or "free-loading" type. 
4.  DM could be dirt poor!
-- Weak DM with many wealth elements is actually poor with many desires!
