Secrets of Bachelor and Spinster Feng Shui

"Bachelor" and "spinster" here refer to people who have missed their prime age period for marriage.  In China, these group of people are called "surplus males (剩男)" and "surplus females (剩女)" .  I will use a more neutral term "unmarried people".

Today is your lucky day because you will read some rarely taught secrets of "unmarried Feng Shui", especially if you are one of the unmarried persons and want to get rid of the "unmarried" label.

Below are some Feng Shui features of your residence that may contribute to one's being "unmarried":

1. Missing or partially missing NW or SW corner/s:  NW is Qian palace representing the oldest male and SW is Kun palace for oldest female.  Male living in a house with missing SW corner will have problem getting married.  Same for female living in a house with missing NW corner.

2. Toilet in NW or SW corners:  Similar to #1, but in this case, the toilet flushes away the relationship and hence not getting married.

3. Person's animal sign location is a missing corner, cave-in, toilet or well:  this will make it difficult for that person to get married.

4. A person's 6-combination animal sign location is clashed:  For example, the dog (xu) location is the 6-combination location of a person with rabbit (mao) sign.  If this location is "clashed" by a T-junction, sharp corner/ object, kitchen, door or the like, this person will have problem getting married.

5. Bedroom in "loneliness star" location:  "Loneliness star" (孤辰寡宿) is a shen-sha or symbolic star in Bazi.  People with this star in their Bazi natal chart is prone to remain single or become unmarried if married.  Below is how to check if your bedroom sits on this loneliness star location:
  • People with tiger, rabbit and dragon sign, their loneliness star is in si mountain (SE) and chou mountain (NE).
  • People with snake, horse and ram sign, their loneliness star is in shen mountain (SW) and chen mountain (SE).
  • People with pig, mouse and ox sign, their loneliness star is in yin mountain (NE) and xu mountain (NW).
  • People with monkey, rooster and dog sign, their loneliness star is in hai mountain (NW) and wei mountain (SW).
6. Bedroom location in all-yang or all-yin location:  This concept is difficult to explain here.  Check my Bazi groups for a longer version of this article for explanation.

Will you conceive a baby pig in 2019?

Don't worry, I do not mean bestiality or that you are a pig.  2019 is Ji-hai or year of pig in Chinese calendar.

People with the following Bazi characteristics will have higher chance of conceiving a pig baby:

1. Male with hai-water as power stars (qi-sha/ zheng-guan) and female with hai-water as output stars (shi-shen/ shang-guan):  Power stars are children for a male daymaster (DM) and output stars are children for a female DM.  This means male fire DM and female metal DM are likely to conceive in 2019 Hai-pig year.

2. For both male and female charts, hour branch is yin-wood:  Yin-wood combines with hai-water.  Hour pillar stands for children palace.  When there is interaction in that pillar means something happen about children.

3. For both male and female, hour branch is si-fire:  Si-fire clashes hai-water.  Hour pillar stands for children palace.  When there is interaction in that pillar means something happen about children.

4. For both male and female, if there is a zi-water or chou-earth in hour branch and other branch or luck period brings another zi/ chou to form hai-zi-chou water-3-meeting with the annual hai-water, DM will likely conceive a baby due to the children palace has interaction.

5. For both male and female, if there is a mao-wood or wei-earth in hour branch and other branch or luck period brings another mao/wei  to form hai-mao-wei wood-3-unities with the annual hai-water, DM will likely conceive a baby due to the children palace has interaction.

6. For both male and female, if there is yin-wood or si-fire in their other branches of his/ her natal chart AND yin or si stands for their children star, which will interact with hai-water, will likely conceive a baby.

"Ken, my chart meets some of the conditions above.  But I do not want a pig baby.  What should I do?"

Well, keep your zipper zipped.  But I know it is difficult to do.  So make sure you take your pills or wear your "armor".  Don't sue me for child support if you still manage to produce a baby after these safety measures.

Note: This article was originally posted in my Bazi discussion group.  It includes tips on how to increase the chance of conceive a male baby and how to "choose" the DM element of the baby.  Take any one of my Bazi courses will get you a membership to see all the juicy contents in the group.

Bazi Characteristics of Psychics, Mediums and Metaphysicans

If you have one or more of the following characteristics in your Bazi chart, you could become a psychic, medium, metaphysics person and the likes easily.

Bazi charts with:

1. Zheng-yin/ pian-yin (resource stars):  People with resource stars in both stem and branch level are likely to have psychic ability, studying and practicing religions/ metaphysics related careers.
2. Mao-you clash:  People with this clash in their chart has strong intuition and sixth sense.  My own "psychic antenna" suddenly turns on when I have a mao-you clash luck period.
3. 4-cardinal elements:  zi, wu, mao and you is the 4-cardinal elements with relatively pure and strong water, fire, wood and metal energies.  These elements also represent north, south, east and west 4-cardinal directions. They are also the 4-peach-blossom elements.  Hence it is not uncommon to hear sex scandals in these circles.
4. Strong shi-shen/ shang-guan (output stars):  Output stars represents intellect and intuition.  People with strong output stars are sensitive to different frequencies of energies.
5. Strong pian-yin (-resource):  Resource stars stand for reception of signals from the universe and knowledge.  Zheng-yin (+resource) stands for main-stream signals and religions.  Pian-yin (-resource) stands for non-traditional signal and religions.
6. Jia-wood and ding-fire in stem level:  Jia-wood is the first element of the 10-stems.  Ding-fire stands of starry light.  When ding-fire meets Jia-wood in a chart, it will brightly lit up Jia-wood for a long time.
7. Gui-water daymaster (DM):  Gui-water is the yin-est element of the 10-stems.  Yin element is associated with supernatural ghostly/ psychic events.  Gui-water DM usually is soft-spoken, passive and sensitive to yin elements and supernatural phenomena.
8. Yin-day and yin-hour birthday:  These are people who were born in yin days/ hours.  Yin days/ hours are days/ hours with yi, ding, ji, xin, and gui stems and chou, mao, si, wei, you and hai branches. People born in yin day/hour can easily attain psychic ability.  If all the 4 pillars in a chart are yin, this DM could be a spokesperson for deity or spirit.
9. Huá gài shen-sha (Loner-talent 华盖):  Hua-gai is the symbolic star for someone interested in metaphysics and religions.  People with this star are usually religious, intelligent but non-sociable.  Most metaphysics students, including myself, have this star in their charts.   Check below to see if you have this star:
  • If your day-branch is:  shen, zi or chen, your hua gai is chen
  • If your day-branch is:  hai, mao or wei, your hua gai is wei
  • If your day-branch is:  si, you or chou, your hua gai is chou
  • If your day-branch is:  yin, wu or xu, your hua gai is xu
10. Tai-ji Nobleman Shen-sha (贵人) This star stands for interest in mysterious and divine knowledge.  You have this star:
  • if your day-stem is Jia- or Yi-wood with BOTH zi and wu
  • if your day-stem is Bing- or Ding-fire with BOTH mao and you
  • if your day-stem is Wu-earth with BOTH chen and xu
  • if your day-stem is Ji-earth with BOTH chou and wei
  • if your day-stem is Geng- or Xin-metal with BOTH yin and mao
  • if your day-stem is Ren- or Gui-water with BOTH si and shen
You should take my Chinese metaphysics courses below if you have one or more of the characteristics listed above.  You don't want to waste your metaphysics talent.

Secrets of Chinese Craftsmen Magic 厌胜术

Traditional Chinese carpenters
In ancient China, craftsmen like carpenters, masons, tailors and etc., had practiced mysterious practices of putting certain control objects/ symbols (镇物) or magical objects/ symbols (法物) into their crafts based on how their clients treat them fairly or not.   This mysterious practice is called Yan Sheng Shu (YSS, 厌胜术).

Yan Sheng Shu is a branch out of Daoist magical practice.  It is divided into "black YSS" and "white YSS".  Black YSS will bring misfortune and disasters to the client's family.  This usually was practiced as revenges when the craftsmen felt that they were treated unfairly by their clients.  White YSS will bring good fortune and luck to the client's family.

YSS can be classified in three major schools:
  1. Magic through imagery:  This is based on imagery of an object can exert energy related to that object.  For example, Chinese carpenter can secretly draw a bird (representing phoenix which also means success) on the main beam of a house.  If the beak is drawn facing indoor, it will bring client good wealth luck.  If the beak facing outside the house will bring client wealth-losing luck.
  2. Magic through 5-elements colors:  This method put minerals/ rocks of different colors or actual metal (copper, gold, silver) in certain location of the foundation of the house to enhance or hurt the luck of the client's family.  For example, cinnabar represents fire energy put in certain location of house foundation to enhance or hurt certain member of client's family.
  3. Magic through 8-directions (palace representations):  In Feng Shui, each direction is represented by a "palace" or one of the 8 trigrams in Bagua.  Each palace also represents a family member of a house.  For example, NW or Qian palace represents the oldest male and SW the oldest female.   By placing auspicious or inauspicious object in certain palace, the craftsman can play trick on the fortune of certain member of the client's family.

The "magic through imagery" school is pretty common across cultures, like the voodoo doll witchcraft.  "Magic through colors" is also quite common in magical rituals of other cultures.  "Magic through 8 directions" is uniquely Chinese.

Of course, there are also "anti-YSS" magic, but that is another story.

Static versus Dynamic Favorable Element ("useful god")

In Bazi or 4-pillars, favorable elements ("useful gods") are the elements that keep a chart in balance for standard charts and "special" for non-standard charts.  When the owner (daymaster or DM) of the chart runs into luck periods with these favorable elements, his luck will be good or at the least, nothing bad happen to him.

However, it is not unusual that someone runs into major disasters, illness or even death during his favorable element luck period/s.  Why?

This has to do with the concepts static vs. dynamic favorable elements.

APPROACHES TO EXTRACTING FAVORABLE ELEMENTS

Static Model

This is the most popular approach used in most basic Bazi books/ courses and Bazi software because it is easy to learn and program.  It is based on the data from a moment in time (the birthday/ hour) and calculates which elements are needed to balance the chart.  These elements are called favorable elements and supporting elements ("happy god").  Then these favorable elements are used as benchmarks to determine if the future luck periods are good or bad for the DM.  This is simple and logical.  Isn't it?  But it fails to take into consideration of the cumulative effects of luck period elements on chart balance.  This is a main reason that this model does not always make the right predictions.

Another reason is that if there is/ are interactions between natal chart and luck period.  For example, if fire is favorable according to this static model and you see a bing-fire luck period coming, you may predict good luck comes for this DM.  But if there is a xin-metal in the natal chart or another luck period,  this fire may be converted into water which is likely unfavorable.

Dynamic Model
If we use taking a photo analogy at a certain time (like time of birth) for static model, dynamic model would be taking multiple photos at different points of time  (luck periods) and drawing different conclusions on which elements are favorable or unfavorable for each photo or point of time.

This approach takes care of changing dynamics between 5-elements in a chart.  For example, if water is "favorable" at birth, when a 10-years-luck and annual luck are all water elements, water may become excessive and unfavorable!  This is one of the reasons why one may die during his favorable luck period defined by static model.

The more of a "good thing" may not be merrier in 5-elements theory.  It is like salt is good for your body, but too much salt will give you high blood pressure.  The "right amount" of a good thing needed to keep the Bazi chart in balance is the key.

There are different levels of "dynamic model"---  taking photos or calculations of birth chart with
  1. 10-years-luck only
  2. 10-years-luck and annual luck only
  3. 10-years-luck, annual luck and current month
  4. 10-years-luck, annual luck, current month and current day
  5. 10-years-luck, annual luck, current month, current day and current hour

But most people would do to 10YL and annual luck level only unless DM is in serious trouble or illness.  It will be too much calculations even for Bazi software.
