Annual Luck Pillar Secrets 流年斷事秘訣

In Bazi, "annual luck" means the prevailing dominant energies of current year. For example, 2025 is Yi-si or wooden-snake year, the dominant energies are wood and fire. Every person in the world is under the influence of this wood and fire energy in 2025.

However, these annual energies have different effects on the ten possible daymasters (DM). For examples, wood energy is a power element to an earth DM, wealth element to a metal DM, resource element to a fire DM and output element to a water DM and peer element to a wood DM.

Hence, to unlock the predictions about a new annual luck pillar for a person, the first step is to translate the pillar element (e.g., wood, fire, etc.) into transformation stars or "10-gods".

The transformation star in the annual luck stem level indicates what will happen that is visible by the public. It does not indicate positivity or negativity. The branch level transformation star will reflect the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of the likely event.

Generally speaking, if the annual luck branch is the favorable element ("useful element") of the chart, this year will be good for the person. If unfavorable, this year will be below average.

Annual luck focus is on the stem whereas 10-years-luck is on the branch for making predictions. Annual luck is more critical because it is the "final mile" of luck delivery mechanism. It is also seen as the "trigger" of the event, whether good or bad.

PREDICTIONS BASED ON ANNUAL LUCK STEM

1. When annual luck stem is peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai) and is favorable, DM will get help from peers, coworkers, friends and sibling. If unfavorable, DM will get lawsuit, lose wealth and bickering due to the same people above. Also DM may jinx wife and/or father.

2. When annual luck stem is resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin), DM will encounter events represented by resource star, such as study, work, reputation, documents/ contracts, housing, sickness, wealth luck and etc.

3. When annual luck stem is wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai), DM will see events represented by wealth star, such as money/ finance, wife, father, health (sickness/ injury), work, marital/ relationship problems.

4. When annual luck stem is power star (zheng-guan/ qi-sha), DM will run into events represented by power star, such as superior/ boss, work, father, husband, career, reputation, legal matters, sickness, injury and etc.

5. When annual luck stem is output star (shang-guan/ shi-shen), DM will handle events represented by output star, such as displaying of talents like dancing, performance, art exhibition, giving speeches, publishing; children, employees, investment, planning, illness/ injury, legal problems, sickness, injury and etc.

For more accurate predictions, the annual pillar should be read with the 10-year-luck pillar and natal chart together.

Predicting marital blessing using day pillar 日柱看婚姻

In a Bazi chart, the day pillar represents the daymaster (DM) or chart owner and his/ her spouse palace. Hence, it is possible to get a quick prediction of marital blessing by simply checking the day pillar.

To find your day pillar, log into www.bazi-calculator.com, key in your birthday, check the output "Birth chart", the second column from the left is your day pillar.

DAY PILLAR COMPOSITION AND MARITAL BLESSING

1. Day branch or spouse palace is occupied by a wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai): Yi-chou, yi-wei, bing-shen, ding-you, wu-zi, ji-hai, geng-yin and ren-wu. Wealth star stands for wife for a male DM. It implies a good marriage when a wealth star sits in the spouse palace. This is called "matching star and palace 宫星同位". If wealth star is favorable, DM will get wife's wealth in addition to a happy marriage. If DM is a female, the marriage is still above average because wealth star can nurture power star (husband).

2. Day branch or spouse palace is occupied by a power star (zheng-guan/ qi-sha): Jia-shen, yi-you, ding-hai, ji-mao, geng-wu, xin-si, gui-chou, and gui-wei. Power star stands for husband for a female DM. It implies a good marriage when a power star sits in the spouse palace. If power star is favorable, DM will enjoy good status/ reputation and relationship due to husband. This is called "matching star and palace 宫星同位". If DM is a male, wife may boss him around because power star controls DM.

3. Day branch or spouse palace is occupied by a resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) means DM is nurtured by the spouse palace: Jia-zi, yi-hai, bing-yin, ding-mao, wu-wu, ji-si, geng-chen, geng-xu, xin-chou, xin-wei, ren-shen and gui-you. Resource star stands for mother/ elder for both male and female DM. DM sits on a resource star implies DM's wife or husband will take care of him/ her like a mother. It is even better if resource star is favorable.

4. Day branch or spouse palace is occupied by an output star (shang-guan/ shi-shen) means DM nurtures the spouse palace: Jia-wu, yi-hai, yi-si, bing-chen, bing-xu, ji-you, geng-zi, xin-hai, ren-yin, gui-mao and wu-shen. Different outcomes for male and female DM with output star in spouse palace:

Male DM: Though wealth or wife star does not sit in spouse palace, but output star will nurture wealth star. If DM is strong and wealth is favorable, DM will have good relationship/ marriage with wife. If weak and unfavorable, DM will have poor marital relationship.
Female DM: Power or husband star does not sit in spouse palace. Instead, output star, the arch-enemy of husband star, sits there to confront husband. This likely causes marital setbacks.

5. Day branch or spouse palace is occupied by a peer star (jie-cai/ bi-jian) means DM shares the same element with the the spouse palace: Jia-yin, yi-hai, yi-mao, bing-wu, ding-si, wu-xu, wu-chen, ji-wei, ji-si, geng-shen, xin-you, ren-zi and gui-hai. Peer star controls and "plunders" wealth star and sits in spouse palace, for male DM, this means marital disharmony and wife may be "snatched" by another man. For female DM, peer star steals wealth which is meant for nurturing husband star. In addition, peer star may combine or steal power star (husband). All this signifies marital disharmony.

Find out your husband's innate feeling about you without asking

Your husband may not tell you how relevant or important of your presence to him. But you can find out this innate feeling by checking his birth chart with Bazi astrology.

In Bazi, wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) represent wife, mistress and girl friends for male. Naturally, these are the critical info to examine in your husband's chart. There are 3 major aspects to check:

Is there any +wealth star (zheng-cai) in the natal chart?
The strength (how strong or weak) of the wealth star.
The distance between the day stem (daymaster, DM) and wealth star.

WIFE RELEVANCE RATING BASED ON HUSBAND BIRTH CHART

1. DM sits on +wealth star (zheng-cai); +wealth is strong ; only +wealth star/s are present in the chart: "DM" is the daymaster or owner of the chart. This means wife star sits on the day branch or spouse palace. Wife has the highest relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. He pays close attention to wife, loves her dearly and tries to fulfill any request that wife asks.

2. DM sits on -wealth star (pian-cai); -wealth is strong ; only -wealth star/s are present in the chart: This means wife star sits on the day branch or spouse palace. Wife still has the high relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. But -wealth is same gender to DM and not yin-yang balanced. So some minor confrontations or verbal fights occur occasionally.

3. Both + and -wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) show up in the chart; +wealth is strong and close to DM ; -wealth star is weak and far away from DM: Wife still has significant relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. In reality, husband is prone to affairs, but he is concerned with wife's feeling and will keep his affairs hidden. In short, despite his infidelity, he loves wife more than the mistress.

4. Both + and -wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) show up in the chart; -wealth is strong and close to DM ; +wealth star is weak and far away from DM: Wife has low relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. In short, he loves mistress more than the wife.

5. Chart has no wealth star: Wife has insignificant relevance from the perspective of husband. He may not care about the feeling and needs of his wife at all.

How to check spouse quality from Bazi birth chart 八字看配偶吉凶

Below is a no BS and straight-talk list of how to check the marital quality of one's spouse:

1. Month pillar of a female chart has stem shang-guan (+output) and branch qi-sha (-power)-- She will marry multiple times.

2. Female daymaster sits on shang-guan (+output), regardless of its favorability ("yong-shen"), She likely has marital problems and/or jinxing husband.

3. Male daymaster sits on peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai)-- He has marital problems.

4. Female with Jia-yin or Wu-shen day pillar-- Her husband may die of unexpected disaster.

5. Male daymaster sits on pian-cai (-wealth) is amorous. He loves mistress more than wife.

6. Male daymaster sits resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) hindering wife. Wife does not get along with his mother.

7. Female chart with both zheng-guan and qi-sha (power stars) in stem level-- This is called "guan-sha mixing up". She will have marital disharmony, likely marry twice or has lover.

8. Male chart with both zheng-cai and pian-cai (wealth stars) in stem level-- he will have marital disharmony, likely marry twice or has mistress.

9. Female chart has strong shang-guan (+output) stars but no wealth star-- She jinxes her husband or marry again.

10. When day branch (spouse palace) is clashed-- This implies marital disharmony and separation is likely.

11. When day branch (spouse palace) is combined-- This implies spouse has affair.

12. When a male chart day branch has a wealth star (zheng-cai/ piain-cai), regardless the strength of this daymaster, gets a good/ helpful wife. This is called "wife palace stationed by a wife 妻宫妻守"

13. When a female chart day branch has a wealth star (zheng-cai/ piain-cai) and is favorable ("yong-shen"), gets a helpful and capable husband.

Annual luck reading secrets 八字流年秘訣

How do you interpret the combinations between a Bazi chart and annual luck period? The following pointers should help you to do Bazi annual luck readings. This article assumes you have basic Bazi knowledge and will not explain the why and how.

While 10-years-luck put emphasis on the branches, annual luck reading focuses on the stems. It reflects the event types of the interactions between each pillar stem for the year.

1. Annual luck combines with the daymaster (DM, chart owner) 流年合日主: For example, Geng-metal DM combines with the annual luck Yi-wood of 2025. DM does not feel good emotionally, face obstacles and make wrong decisions. DM should be conservative and avoid new venture or take risk for the year.

2. Annual luck combines with the +wealth star (zheng-cai) of natal chart 流年合正财: For example, Geng-metal DM's +wealth star is Yi-wood, combines with the annual luck Geng-metal of 2030-- DM may suffer major wealth losses. If Yi-wood is in year pillar, DM may suffer total loss of ancestral wealth. DM's wife may have chronic illness. Single male is prone to romance failure, married male's wife may have affairs or high chance of getting divorced. Older male may become widower.

3. Annual luck combines with the -wealth star (pian-cai) of natal chart 流年合偏财: For example, Geng-metal DM's -wealth star is Jia-wood, combines with the annual luck Ji-earth of 2029-- DM's father suffers illness or DM faces major wealth losses. Young male DM may get caught with affair or losing money due to lust or sexual traps. Older DM should wary of his/ her father's health condition. He may not survive.

4. Annual luck combines with the +power star (zheng-guan) of natal chart 流年合正官: For example, Geng-metal DM's +power star is Ding-fire, combines with the annual luck Ren-water of 2032-- Male DM may suffer legal problems, single woman is prone to romance setback, married woman's husband may have affairs or high chance of getting divorced. Older woman may become widow.

5. Annual luck combines with the -power star (Qi-sha) of natal chart 流年合七杀: For example, Geng-metal DM's -power star is Bing-fire, combines with the annual luck Xin-metal of 2031-- is favorable for weak but not strong DM. Female DM with only -power and no +power star, should beware of marital problems.

6. Annual luck combines with the +resource star (zheng-yin) of natal chart 流年合正印: For example, Geng-metal DM's +resource star is Ji-earth, combines with the annual Jia-wood of 2024 -- DM should pay attention to the health of his/ her mother, including the in-law. Weak DM may have problem getting helpful mentors/ noblemen.

7. Annual luck combines with the -resource star (pian-yin) of natal chart 流年合偏印: For example, Geng-metal DM's -resource star is Wu-earth, combines with the annual Gui-water of 2033 -- DM should keep his/her idiosyncrasies or temperaments private. Weak DM is unable to get helpful mentors/ noblemen.

8. Annual luck combines with the + or -peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai) of natal chart 流年合比劫: For example, Geng-metal DM's +/- peer star are Geng- and Xin-metal combines with the annual Yi-wood of 2025 or Bing-fire of 2026-- DM should stay away from peers/ friends to block his/ her money leaking/losing channels.

9. Annual luck combines with the +output star (shang-guan) of natal chart 流年合伤官: For example, Geng-metal DM's +output star is Gui-water combines with the annual Wu-earth of 2028 -- single female DM will not be picky as before in mate-selection. Married couple would temporary stop bickering to fix marital relationship.

When there is no interaction between annual luck and the natal chart, DM will act out the characteristics of that annual luck. However, there are 3 scenarios meriting serious attention:

1. +Output star meeting +power star 伤官见官为祸百端: "Numerous disasters created when Shang-guan meets Zheng-guan". These disasters include predictable legal, wealth-losing, life-threatening and health problems.

2. -Resource star meeting -output star 枭印夺食: These disasters include unpredictable legal, wealth-losing, life-threatening and health problems.

3. Weak DM running into -power luck: DM suffers bloody event, lawsuits, backstabbing, losing wealth, divorce, accident and the likes.

Street fortune-teller secret codes for marital predictions 江湖看婚姻秘诀

In traditional or ancient China, many street fortune tellers were illiterate or blind or both. How did they learn Bazi or 4-pillars reading?

They had learned the trade by reciting poems or "trick songs" like the ones presented below. The poems are mostly based on empirical experience in the field and not may not based on Bazi theory or logic.

These poems predict marital situations based on the day pillar of a client. The stem of a day pillar represents the daymaster or the chart owner. Day branch is the spouse palace representing the wife or husband of the daymaster.

BAZI POEM ON MARITAL SITUATIONS

男骑白马走天下，女骑白马犯桃花。Male riding a white horse travels the world. Female riding a white horse violates peach blossom. (White is metal color. This means Geng-wu day-pillar. Both male and female with this day pillar are prone to peach blossom or affairs).

男骑红马犯重婚，女骑红马要三婚。Male riding a red horse commits bigamy. Female riding a red horse will marry thrice. (Red is fire color. This means Bing-wu day-pillar. Both male and female with this day pillar are prone to marital disasters).

男骑黄马要离婚，女骑黄马犯多婚。Male riding a yellow horse will divorce. Female riding a yellow horse will marry multiple times. (Yellow is earth color. This means Wu-wu day-pillar. Both male and female with this day pillar are prone to marital disasters).

男骑青马过朝庭，女骑青马挤破门。Male riding a green horse will become a government official. Female riding a green horse breaks the family door. (Green is wood color. This means Jia-wu day-pillar).

男见青牛想情人，女见青牛多郎人。Male with a green ox thinks mistress. Female with a green ox has many lovers. (This means Yi-chou day-pillar).

男捉黄蛇恋二婚，女捉黄蛇主重婚。Male catching a yellow snake will marry twice. Female catching a yellow snake commits bigamy. (This means Ji-si day-pillar).

男打黑鼠想女人，女打黑鼠爱别人。Male beating a black rat thinks about women. Female beating a black rat loves outside men. (Black is water color. This means Ren-zi day-pillar).

男养青狗克妻子，女养青狗克丈夫。Male raising a green dog jinxes wife. Female raising a green dog jinxes husband. ( This means Jia-xu day-pillar).

男养黑鸡防婚变，女养黑鸡再嫁人。Male raising a black rooster should beware of marriage upheavals. Female raising a black rooster will marry again. (This means Gui-you day-pillar).

男养白猪情人多，女养白猪婚变多。Male raising a white pig has many lovers/ mistresses. Female raising a white pig has many marriage upheavals. (This means Xin-hai day-pillar).

男养黄猴多情人，女养黄猴没郎人。Male raising a yellow monkey has many lovers/ mistresses. Female raising a yellow monkey has no husband. (This means Wu-shen day-pillar).

男养青兔要变婚，女养青兔要离婚。 Male raising a green rabbit has marriage upheavals. Female raising a green rabbit will divorce. (This means Yi-mao day-pillar).

男养白鸡爱别人，女养白鸡爱情人。Male raising a white rooster loves outside woman. Female raising a white rooster has lovers. (This means Xin-you day-pillar).

男捉黑蛇风流人，女捉黑蛇再嫁人。Male catching a black snake is flirtatious and romantic. Female catching a black snake will marry again. (This means Gui-si day-pillar).

男养白猴难成婚，女养白猴婚难成。Male raising a white monkey has problem getting married. Female raising a white monkey is difficult to get married. (This means Geng-shen day-pillar).

男打白鼠伤妻子，女打白鼠另嫁人。Male hitting a white/metal rat hurts/jinxes wife. Female hitting a white/metal rat is difficult to get married. (This means Geng-zi day-pillar).

男驾青龙妻克夫，女驾青龙夫克妻。Male riding a green dragon gets a husband-jinxing wife. Female riding a green dragon gets a wife-jinxing husband. (This means Jia-chen day-pillar).

In general, people born with the above day pillars are more "likely" suffering marital setbacks and problems. It will be more serious if their natal chart composition is less than satisfactory, with problems like bigamy, multiple marriages, divorce, life and death separation, affairs, dumping the spouse or being dumped.

The above 17 day-pillars out of a possible 60 are mostly involving Zi, Wu, Mao and You day-branch or rat, horse, rabbit and rooster animal signs. This is because Zi, Wu, Mao and You are the peach-blossom or romance elements in Bazi.

How to check one loves his wife or mistress more?

There is a saying in Taiwan about the nature of man-- "Nine out of ten men cheat. The 10th man is impotent."

While this may be a sweeping generalization, but it is pretty close to the truth or world population would have been much smaller.

In this article, we utilize the power of Bazi or 4-pillars astrology to find out if a man loves his wife or mistress/ girl friend more by examining certain feature in his birth chart. "Mistress or girl friend" here is defined as a woman who have repeated sexual relationship with a married man. This does NOT include the one-night stand affairs.

BAZI FEATURES OF MAN WITH MISTRESS/ GIRL FRIEND

1. Chart with -wealth star (pian-cai) stronger than +wealth star (zheng-cai): -Wealth star represents mistress and +wealth star wife for a male chart. When -wealth star is stronger than +wealth, it implies his mistress is more capable than wife. Hence this man tends to prefer or love the mistress more.

2. Chart with -wealth star (pian-cai) exposed in stem level and +wealth star (zheng-cai) hidden in branch level: -Wealth star showing up in stem level means mistress is visually seen in public with this man. This also means husband interacts with mistress more in public. This may also be a type of showing off. +Wealth star is hidden in stem level means husband rarely goes out with wife. He may be uncomfortable to show off wife in public with him. In short, this implies mistress has higher priority or status in this man's mind.

3. Chart with +wealth star (zheng-cai) "gaining position" 妻星得位 and strong: In Bazi, "gaining position" happens when a +wealth star sits in spouse palace or day-branch. If a husband chart with +wealth wife star gaining position or with nurturing by other star or with multiple +wealth stars, this means wife is strong, capable and intolerant of a mistress. This husband is also likely a "wife-fearing" person or even bullied by his wife.

4. Chart with multiple -wealth stars (pian-cai): This means -wealth mistress star is strong and with stronger karma connection with husband. He is likely to love the mistress more than the wife. He may even have no love or feeling for wife.

When annual luck clashing your natal chart 流年冲四柱

Below are some general observations when annual luck pillar clashes one's natal chart.

1. Annual luck pillar clashing year pillar: You should be more patient, tolerant and avoid argument/ dispute with supervisor or boss. If clashing wealth storage, be careful of losing ancestral/ family fortune overnight.

2. Annual luck pillar clashing month pillar: You may have the urge or motivation to do things that you normally will not do, such as investment, risky endeavor, divorce, affair, cohabitation and etc.. You need to pay attention to finance and marital relationship.

3. Annual luck pillar clashing day pillar: Single person may meet a potential partner and should secure this opportunity for marriage. Married person is prone to marital discord; your spouse may have affair.

4. Annual luck pillar clashing hour pillar: Female may get pregnant. Person with children should pay attention to their relationship with their children. There may be changes in work or career.

Bazi of people with problems getting married 剩男剩女的八字

In 2018, I have written about "Secrets of Bachelor and Spinster Feng Shui".

Today I discuss Bazi factors leading to problem getting married for both men and women.

1. Birth chart has no peach-blossom element (桃花): Zi, wu, mao and you are the four peach-blossom (PB) stars for romance and social networking. Missing this PB star means the person is not romantic or socially inactive.

2. Weak or no wealth star for male and power star for female: Wealth star is wife for male and power star husband for female in Bazi. When this star is weak or clashed, spouse is hard to come by.

3. Wealth star for male and power star for female is entombed: Wealth or power star entombed means spouse is put in storage and not accessible.

4. Strong peer stars for male: Peer stars jinx or "steal" wealth star (wife). Friends of the man "steal" or snatches his wife away.

5. Strong output stars for female: Output stars jinx power star (husband). The woman is too picky or demanding and scaring potential husband away.

6. Power or wealth star in void: Void means spouse is not there.

Ken's List of Wife-Jinxing Bazi 命理克妻断

Ladies! Today is your lucky day! Before you dive into a relationship or marriage, check the following list to make sure your potential lover does not jinx you to death.

Check the birthday Bazi chart of your potential mate to see if his chart hits one or more of the followings:

Natal chart and 10-year-lucks have no wealth star: this is likely the destiny of a monk or a man with no wife.
Chart has "pure yin" or "pure-yang" pillars likely jinxes wife.
Wife star (wealth or "cai" star) is in void: wife is prone to premature death or this man remains single throughout his life.
Wife star is clashed or combined away: is prone to physical or death separation with wife.
Strong male daymaster has a wife star not sitting in spouse palace, is clashed: is prone to jinxing wife.
Weak male daymaster with both + and -wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai): he is likely a disloyal husband with lots of material and sexual desire.
Chart with both wealth and power star in void: this man is likely jinxing wife during his middle age.
Chart with multiple storage elements (chen, xu, chou and wei): is prone to jinxing wife.
Chart has weak wife star with strong and multiple + and -peer (jie-cai/ bi-jian) stars: is prone to jinxing wife.
Chart with yang-knife (jie-cai) star sitting in spouse palace (day-branch) and combines with another branch: wife is chronically sick.
Spouse palace does not have a yang-knife but combines with a yang-knife in another branch: wife is chronically sick.
Chart has -power (qi-sha) with -resource (pian-yin) and yang-knife (jie-cai) stars: this man is likely jinxing wife during his middle age.
Chart with wife star (wealth or "cai") entombed: wife is incapable or lacking luck or died prematurely.
Chart with year and hour pillar exchanging void branch (i.e., each has the void branch of the other pillar): is prone to jinxing wife or no wife.
Chart with hour and day pillar exchanging void branch: is prone to jinxing wife or no wife.

The more a chart hits the above list, the higher the "wife jinxing power".

"Jinxing" here does not mean this man jinxing his wife to death but it is the destiny of this woman. It is not his fault. His qi or energy field tends to attract partner who is destined for a less fortunate life.

"Ken, is there any remedy for the above?"
