Annual Luck Pillar Secrets 流年斷事秘訣

In Bazi, "annual luck" means the prevailing dominant energies of current year. For example, 2025 is Yi-si or wooden-snake year, the dominant energies are wood and fire. Every person in the world is under the influence of this wood and fire energy in 2025.

However, these annual energies have different effects on the ten possible daymasters (DM). For examples, wood energy is a power element to an earth DM, wealth element to a metal DM, resource element to a fire DM and output element to a water DM and peer element to a wood DM.

Hence, to unlock the predictions about a new annual luck pillar for a person, the first step is to translate the pillar element (e.g., wood, fire, etc.) into transformation stars or "10-gods".

The transformation star in the annual luck stem level indicates what will happen that is visible by the public. It does not indicate positivity or negativity. The branch level transformation star will reflect the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of the likely event.

Generally speaking, if the annual luck branch is the favorable element ("useful element") of the chart, this year will be good for the person. If unfavorable, this year will be below average.

Annual luck focus is on the stem whereas 10-years-luck is on the branch for making predictions. Annual luck is more critical because it is the "final mile" of luck delivery mechanism. It is also seen as the "trigger" of the event, whether good or bad.

PREDICTIONS BASED ON ANNUAL LUCK STEM

1. When annual luck stem is peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai) and is favorable, DM will get help from peers, coworkers, friends and sibling. If unfavorable, DM will get lawsuit, lose wealth and bickering due to the same people above. Also DM may jinx wife and/or father.

2. When annual luck stem is resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin), DM will encounter events represented by resource star, such as study, work, reputation, documents/ contracts, housing, sickness, wealth luck and etc.

3. When annual luck stem is wealth star (zheng-cai/ pian-cai), DM will see events represented by wealth star, such as money/ finance, wife, father, health (sickness/ injury), work, marital/ relationship problems.

4. When annual luck stem is power star (zheng-guan/ qi-sha), DM will run into events represented by power star, such as superior/ boss, work, father, husband, career, reputation, legal matters, sickness, injury and etc.

5. When annual luck stem is output star (shang-guan/ shi-shen), DM will handle events represented by output star, such as displaying of talents like dancing, performance, art exhibition, giving speeches, publishing; children, employees, investment, planning, illness/ injury, legal problems, sickness, injury and etc.

For more accurate predictions, the annual pillar should be read with the 10-year-luck pillar and natal chart together.

Do you have any "hidden benefactor"? 暗祿

Sometimes, we have seen people in very difficult situations, such as life and death or financial crisis. Suddenly, out of nowhere someone shows up to get them out of their predicament whether they know this person or not.

In Bazi, we call these helpers "hidden Lu" star or hidden benefactors. The literal meaning of "Lu" means official salary. The generalized meanings are blessing, wealth and status. This star also means unexpected help and wealth from someone that the person is not familiar with.

To check if you have this hidden benefactor star in your chart, go to bazi-calculator.com and key in your birthday to calculate your birth chart. Find out your daymaster (DM, in the first row of day column, the "HS" row). Read the table in the left side. Then check the second "EB" row for the following "Hidden Lu" element. Please check example below.

DAYMASTER AND HIDDEN BENEFACTOR STAR TABLE

For example, someone born in June 19, 2025 @19:10 has the following Bazi chart. This is a Ji-earth daymaster. You check the table above for Ji-earth and found the Hidden Lu star is Wei (ram). This Bazi chart has a Wei in the day-pillar. So this person has a Hidden Benefactor star.

People with the Hidden Benefactor star are likely to have "white knight" or helper showing up when they are in extreme difficulty or crisis. Unlike other nobleman stars, helpers offer this help or resource expect no return. So they are also called "noblemen".

The setbacks and misfortunes suffered by people with Hidden Benefactor star in their early life tend to be of short durations. They will likely enjoy life and blessing, especially during old age.

Hidden Benefactor star is strongest if located in month pillar, followed by day pillar. If someone has two or more of this stars in his chart, he gets help throughout his life. If both year and month pillar have the presence of this star, DM (chart owner) is likely the heir or second generation of the rich or powerful (officials).

Find out your husband's innate feeling about you without asking

Your husband may not tell you how relevant or important of your presence to him. But you can find out this innate feeling by checking his birth chart with Bazi astrology.

In Bazi, wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) represent wife, mistress and girl friends for male. Naturally, these are the critical info to examine in your husband's chart. There are 3 major aspects to check:

Is there any +wealth star (zheng-cai) in the natal chart?
The strength (how strong or weak) of the wealth star.
The distance between the day stem (daymaster, DM) and wealth star.

WIFE RELEVANCE RATING BASED ON HUSBAND BIRTH CHART

1. DM sits on +wealth star (zheng-cai); +wealth is strong ; only +wealth star/s are present in the chart: "DM" is the daymaster or owner of the chart. This means wife star sits on the day branch or spouse palace. Wife has the highest relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. He pays close attention to wife, loves her dearly and tries to fulfill any request that wife asks.

2. DM sits on -wealth star (pian-cai); -wealth is strong ; only -wealth star/s are present in the chart: This means wife star sits on the day branch or spouse palace. Wife still has the high relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. But -wealth is same gender to DM and not yin-yang balanced. So some minor confrontations or verbal fights occur occasionally.

3. Both + and -wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) show up in the chart; +wealth is strong and close to DM ; -wealth star is weak and far away from DM: Wife still has significant relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. In reality, husband is prone to affairs, but he is concerned with wife's feeling and will keep his affairs hidden. In short, despite his infidelity, he loves wife more than the mistress.

4. Both + and -wealth stars (zheng-cai/ pian-cai) show up in the chart; -wealth is strong and close to DM ; +wealth star is weak and far away from DM: Wife has low relevance from the perspective of husband with these combinations. In short, he loves mistress more than the wife.

5. Chart has no wealth star: Wife has insignificant relevance from the perspective of husband. He may not care about the feeling and needs of his wife at all.

Rarely published meanings of stem clashes

In a Bazi chart, stem level represents external environment and what is visible to the public. Branch level is the hidden and internal reality or psychic of the individual.

In this post, meaning of "4-stem clashes" are shown here. There is no Wu- and Ji-earth clash.

When a chart has stem clash/es, it stands for the development or occurrence of events and environmental changes related to the chart owner ("daymaster" or DM).

4-STEM CLASHES AND SICKNESS

Jia-geng clash: head or face injury
Yi-xin clash: injury involving 4-limbs; tendon and bone pain
Bing-ren clash: head and kidney problems
Ding-gui clash: bladder or heart problems

4-STEM CLASHES AND PILLAR LOCATION

Year pillar clashed: older generation relocates or moving, daymaster does not get the endowment or blessing from older/ ancestral generation
Month pillar clashed: daymaster cannot rely or depend on parents and/or siblings; unstable family environment
Day pillar (DM) is clashed: DM endures many changes and has few or no mentor or "nobleman" to help him/ her
Hour pillar clashed: children leave home or town or DM does not enjoy blessing from his/ her children

Note: the above need to be considered with the favorableness of the palace, so the meanings above are not absolute and could be opposite.

4-STEM CLASHES AND 10 TRANSFORMATION STAR ("10-GODS")

When resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) is clashed: mainly means instability in school or career. DM gets the benefit IF resource star is unfavorable in the chart.
When power star (zheng-guan/ qi-sha) is clashed: mainly means career or official post (government official) becomes unstable. Opposite if power star is unfavorable in the chart.
When wealth star (zheng-cai, pian-cai) is clashed: stands for the person actively pursues wealth like investment or running business. It could also means losing wealth and money-comes-money-goes situation. DM could get wealth if wealth star is unfavorable in the chart. Wealth also stands for wife/ mistress in male charts. This could mean affair or divorce or losing money due to woman.
When output star (shang-guan, shi-shen) is clashed: DM has too many "ideas" and changing mind frequently. DM has some general skills/ knowledge but not at proficient level and changes job frequently. Opposite if output star is unfavorable.
When peer star (bi-jian, jie-cai) is clashed: this likely means losing wealth due to friends/ peers or hard to get close friends. DM gets close friends if peer star is unfavorable in the chart.

Meaning of star combinations in Bazi

"Stars" here mean "transformation stars" or "10-gods" in Bazi. When stars within the natal chart and/or from luck period combine, it could be positive or negative depending on the final product is favorable or unfavorable to the chart. By checking these combinations (and also clashes, not covered here) from annual and 10-year-lucks, we can predict what events are likely happen to the daymaster (DM or chart owner).

Below are meanings of these combination of 10 transformation stars:

Male DM (daymaster) combines with +wealth star (zheng-cai) = husband has good relationship with wife
Female DM combines with +power star (zheng-guan) = wife has good relationship with husband
Wealth star (cai) combines resource star (yin) = DM's parents have good relationship
-Power star (qi-sha) combines with DM = DM befriends people with bad influences
Male DM's +wealth star (zheng-cai) combines with -peer star (bi-jian) = wife has lover/s (affairs)
Female DM's +power star (zheng-guan) combines with -peer star (bi-jian) = husband has mistress (affairs)
Male DM's wealth star (cai) combines with resource star (yin) = wife has good relationship with mother-in-law.

There are conditions or environment to meet for two different elements to combine. Some teachers consider these conditions "top secrets". My Bazi course manuals has detailed info on this topic.

"How To Predict Chapter" 命理何知章

"Meng-li how to predict chapter 命理何知章" is a poem recited by street fortune-tellers in traditional China. It has 30 topics and covers popular FAQ from clients. There are 60 sentences and 420 Chinese characters in the chapter. It could easily take two or more hours of live class to cover the topics involved.

Here I just translate the topics that do not need background concepts or historical info. 50% of this poem is translated.

何知其人离祖籍，年冲月提坐迁移。

Secret of Mind-reading in Bazi

It is not unusual to see a Bazi reader taking a quick glance of a Bazi natal chart and spelling out some characteristics and life events of the client without thinking. Is this Bazi reader a mind-reader?

The trick is to memorize the simple info below.

In general, when a client chart has numerous or none of a certain 10 transformation stars ("10-gods"), some deductions or generalizations can be made about this client.

When a chart 命局 has numerous ("numerous" means 3 or more):

+wealth (zheng-cai)-- likely a stupid person 财多愚
-wealth (pian-cai)-- likely working hard for money 才多劳
+power (zheng-guan)-- likely a lower class or humble person 官多贱
-power (qi-sha)-- likely dies prematurely or tragically 杀多死
+resource (zheng-yin)-- likely alone (widow/ widower/ orphan etc.) 印多孤
-resource (pian-yin)-- likely a vicious/treacherous person 枭多凶
+output (shang-guan) -- likely a provocative or challenging person 伤多害
-output (shi-shen) -- worries too much 食多愁
yang-ren (knives)-- likely has disability/ handicap 刃多残
+peer (jie-cai)-- encounters more failures than successes 劫多败
-Luk (-peer, bi-jian) likely living in poverty 禄多贫
traveling horses (yin, shen, si, hai)-- running around hectic working 马多奔波
clashes -- unstable/ insecure life 冲多不安
combinations-- a sociable an enthusiastic person 合多热情
yang pillars-- an open-minded and frank person with no hidden agenda 阳多坦荡
yin pillars-- a sullen and calculated person 阴多深沉
tombs/storages-- jinxing close relatives 墓库多克六亲，

When a chart does not have a certain transformation star, it also has similar predictions made above except in different directions. You may find out the details in my Bazi discussion group.

Caution: You need to read the whole chart to ascertain if the above pointers fit the person. The demeaner, attitude, physical appearance and clothing style could also give hints if this straight deduction based on 10 transformation stars applies or not. Another precaution is that special chart may not work with the above deductions. For example, it is quite common for special profile charts with 3+ of the same stars. So the above is likely not applicable.

Secret meanings of multiple "10-Gods" within a chart 十神多重断

In traditional China, blind fortune-tellers recite the coded poems from the exclusive Blindman Bazi library to give "iron mouth no-holds-barred revelation 铁口直断" in readings. Below are rare to find meanings of multiple identical "10-Gods" or transformation stars within a chart-- taken from this Blindman Bazi library. For example, what is the possible meaning for a chart with 6 +wealth (zheng-cai) ?

THE AUSPICIOUS 10-GODS GROUP
+Wealth (zheng-cai 正财): this refers to wealth, regular income and wife

one +wealth element means wealth 一财是财
two +wealth mean mistresses 二财是妾
three +wealth mean lust 三财是色
four +wealth mean greed 四财是贪
five +wealth mean disasters due to chasing/ losing wealth 五财聚散成灾
six +wealth mean poverty when daymaster (DM, the person) is weak 六财身弱当贫
seven +wealth mean "follow wealth" profile and the person is likely wealthy 七财从势金玉满堂

seven +resource mean "extreme strong" profile and the person becomes religious 七印势极反到佛前

-Peer (bi-jian 比肩): this refers to sibling, friends, coworkers and peers

one -peer element means loyalty and kindness 一比仁义
two -peer mean sociable and easy-going 二比和气
three -peer mean fierce competitions for resources/ wealth 三比争夺
four -peer mean lacking profit/ interest 四比乏利
five -peer mean leaving hometown to survive 五比离乡背井
six -peer mean struggling in poverty 六比贫困无疑
seven -peer mean "extreme strong" profile and the person becomes famous and wealthy七比势强反成名利

-Output (shi-shen 食神): this refers to children, talent, students

one -output element means the person is a scholar/ learned 一食才子
two -output mean the person likes eating 二食吃吃
three -output mean the person is stupid and swollen/ overweighted 三食愚肿
four -output mean the person is not too smart 四食弱智
five -output mean the person squanders family fortune on pleasure-making 五食败业贪欢
six -output mean the person tarnishing his family name and has a short life expectancy 六食妨祖短世
seven -output mean "follow output" profile and the person becomes a capable official 七食花红反到治世

THE INAUSPICIOUS 10-GODS GROUP

-Power (qi-sha 七杀): this refers to unofficial power
-Resource (pian-yin 偏印): this refers to step mother
+Peer (jie-cai 劫财): this refers to sibling, friends, coworkers and peers
+Output (shang-guan 伤官): this refers to children, talent, IQ, students
-Wealth (pian-cai 偏财): this refers to non-regular income and mistress (partially negative)

We only disclose the secret multiple meanings of "positive" or auspicious "10-Gods" here. The "negative" or inauspicious ones will be posted in my Bazi discussion groups. Membership in these groups requires taking at least one Bazi course from me.

Generally speaking, +wealth, +resource, -output, -peer and +power are categorically considered "positive" or auspicious. -Wealth is more positive than negative because it usually involves bigger wealth opportunities. -Resource, +output, +peer and -power are relatively "negative" or inauspicious. But all these assigned meanings are relative and not absolute. All could be positive or negative depending on the composition of a Bazi chart.

Top Secret Bazi Laws: Numerous vs. None

Today is your lucky day to see the last batch of top secrets of the year.

Below are some secret Bazi laws that masters use to do quick reading:

八字定律：

命局财多愚，才多劳，官多贱，杀多死，印多孤，枭多凶，食多愁，伤多害，刃多残，劫多败，禄多贫，马多奔走，冲多不安，合多热心，阳多坦荡，阴多深重，墓库多克六亲，无财不真实，无官少压力，无印少福分。

Chart with numerous (3+)

+wealth (zheng-cai): Daymaster (DM) is likely stupid
-wealth (pian-cai): DM likely works too much
+power (zheng-guan): DM is likely a lower class member/ depressed
-power (qi-sha): DM is likely to die prematurely
+resource (zheng-yin): DM is likely alone/ solitary
-resource (pian-yin): DM is likely a vicious person
+output (shang-guan): DM is likely a disaster/ arrogant
-output (shi-shen): DM worries too much/ likes eating
+peer (bi-jian): DM is likely a failure/ fantasizes too much
Yang-knives (+peer): DM likely has disability
Lu (-peer): DM likely lives in poverty
Traveling Horses (yin/shen/si/hai): DM travels a lot/ mobile, can't sit still
clashes: instability and insecurity for DM
combinations: DM is enthusiastic and sociable
more yang than yin pillars: DM is open and honest
more yin than yang pillars: DM is not open and suspicious of others
tomb-storages (chen/xu/chou/wei): DM is likely jinxing close relatives

Chart with NO:

wealth star: DM is "not real" (everyone needs wealth to survive)
power star: DM has less pressure
resource star: DM has shortage of blessing

Of course, you also need to read other parts of a chart before you giving out comments based on above laws. There are always exceptions such as special profile charts which may give totally opposite meanings.

As you can see, a tiny paragraph written in Chinese takes almost one page to translate in brief. It would have taken another 2 pages if I explain what these mean in details.

Bazi: In search of a good husband

Most single women probably want to ask this question: "Will I get a good husband?" Look no further. Your own Bazi natal chart may have the answer.

Below are 5 Bazi scenarios that a woman may get a good husband:

1. Power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha) are favorable elements in natal chart
Power stars stand for husband for a female chart. Favorable element represents good support for the daymaster (DM) or woman here. Power star is favorable element in a female chart means this DM will have a good husband.
2. The element sitting in day branch or spouse palace is favorable
Some charts may not have power star. In this case we check the element sitting inside spouse palace (day branch) to see if it is favorable or not. If favorable, it means the potential husband will be nice and helpful to the DM.
3. Power star combines with daymaster
This means husband gets along well with DM. Even better if power star is also the favorable element and there is no "jealous combination" in the chart (i.e., no woman steal the good man). In this scenario, this husband will love DM very much.
4. Spouse palace is occupied by one of the 4 peach-blossom elements-- zi, wu, mao or you.
This husband will be handsome, sociable or knows how to please people. However, this element must be favorable element to the chart to be positive to the DM.
5. Wealth element sits in spouse palace
We all need wealth to survive. Wealth stands for wife for man and also love for both sexes. To check if the future husband has wealth (or capable of making wealth) or not, check DM's spouse palace to see if it is occupied by a wealth element. If wealth star sits there and is also the favorable element, DM's husband is capable of making money and hopefully becoming rich (need to check the man's chart too).
