Ken's Cyber Cave: Interchangeability of 10 Transformation Stars 十神变通

In Bazi, 10 transformation stars ("10 gods", "transtar" for short) represent a person's family relatives and also social relationships. Some natal charts have all the 10 transtars while others may have missing stars. How do we interpret a chart with missing transtars? If a chart has missing +resource star (zheng-yin, mother), does it mean this person has no mother?

There are two ways to handle this problem.

I. SUBSTITUTE THE ORIGINATION OF THE MISSING STAR

When a chart has missing +peer (jie-cai), substitute its origination of +resource (zheng-yin)
When a chart has missing -peer (bi-jian), substitute its origination of -resource (pian-yin)
When a chart has missing +output (shang-guan), substitute its origination of +peer (jie-cai)
When a chart has missing -output (shi-shen), substitute its origination of -peer (bi-jian)
When a chart has missing +wealth (zheng-cai), substitute its origination of +output (shang-guan)
When a chart has missing -wealth (pian-cai), substitute its origination of -output (shi-shen)
When a chart has missing +power (zheng-guan), substitute its origination of +wealth (zheng-cai)
When a chart has missing -power (qi-sha/ pian-guan), substitute its origination of -wealth (pian-cai)
When a chart has missing +resource (zheng-yin), substitute its origination of +power (zheng-guan)
When a chart has missing -resource (pian-yin), substitute its origination of -power (qi-sha/ pian-guan)
