Do you have any "hidden benefactor"? 暗祿

Sometimes, we have seen people in very difficult situations, such as life and death or financial crisis.  Suddenly, out of nowhere someone shows up to get them out of their predicament whether they know this person or not.

In Bazi, we call these helpers "hidden Lu" star or hidden benefactors.  The literal meaning of "Lu" means official salary.  The generalized meanings are blessing, wealth and status.  This star also means unexpected help and wealth from someone that the person is not familiar with.

To check if you have this hidden benefactor star in your chart, go to bazi-calculator.com and key in your birthday to calculate your birth chart.  Find out your daymaster (DM, in the first row of day column, the "HS" row).  Read the table in the left side.  Then check the second "EB" row for the following "Hidden Lu" element.  Please check example below.

DAYMASTER AND HIDDEN BENEFACTOR STAR TABLE

For example, someone born in June 19, 2025 @19:10 has the following Bazi chart.  This is a Ji-earth daymaster.  You check the table above for Ji-earth and found the Hidden Lu star is Wei (ram).  This Bazi chart has a Wei in the day-pillar.  So this person has a Hidden Benefactor star.

People with the Hidden Benefactor star are likely to have "white knight" or helper showing up when they are in extreme difficulty or crisis.  Unlike other nobleman stars, helpers offer this help or resource expect no return.  So they are also called "noblemen".

The setbacks and misfortunes suffered by people with Hidden Benefactor star in their early life tend to be of short durations.  They will likely enjoy life and blessing, especially during old age. 

Hidden Benefactor star is strongest if located in month pillar, followed by day pillar.  If someone has two or more of this stars in his chart, he gets help throughout his life.  If both year and month pillar have the presence of this star, DM (chart owner) is likely the heir or second generation of the rich or powerful (officials).

1. +wealth (zheng-cai):  Daymaster (DM) is likely stupid

Identical birthday and time, but one died earlier 祿盡人亡

In China's Yuan Dynasty(1271- 1368), two scholars with identical birthday/ hour had passed the Imperial Examination at the same time.  They were assigned to be city officials in the same day.  One was sent to Ezhou (鄂州) and the other to Huangzhou (黄州)City.

Within a short period of time, the Huangzhou official had passed.  The Ezhou official, his classmate, thinking that he was about to die, was very scared and had arranged his funeral in advanced.

The Ezchou official was still alive and well after seven days.  So he had visited the new tomb of his classmate in Huangzhou.

"I was born in the same date and hour as yours.  Our birth places were the same.  Yet you had passed before me.  Even if I die now, I still die later than you by a few days.  Why?  If there are spirits and deities, please explain to me in my dream."  Prayed the Ezchou official in front of the tomb.

The spirit of the deceased official had shown up the same day in the dream of Ezchou official.  He said,

"You are frugal with all your activities and living expenses and will expect a longer life than me.  I had over-spent and enjoyed myself too much.  I have used up my allocated blessing and wealth prematurely, resulting in a shorter life."

Chinese believes that everyone is born with a predestined amount of blessing and wealth called "lu" (祿).  When this predestined amount is consumed by the person, he will die regardless of his current age.  The term for this condition is "One dies when his blessing and wealth are exhausted" (祿盡人亡).

Hence, according to traditional Chinese, conspicuous consumption and extravagance are your speeding ticket to heaven or death.

This belief is in sharp contrast with some modern Chinese young people.  Some are called "Moonlight Tribe" (月光族).   It is not that they try to make more money by moonlighting.  "Moon" also means "month" and "light" also means "empty" in Chinese.  "Moonlight Tribe" refers to people who spend all their monthly income every month (hence empty pockets).  They probably have not yet exhausted their "predestined blessing and wealth" or simply making too little.

According to the Chinese, the ultimate karma credit or merit one can get is to save a life.  But this is hard to come by for most people.

The next best karma credit one can get is to offer casket (coffin) to people who cannot afford one.  Karma credit like this one can fend off major misfortune or even death.

In Hong Kong, there are some people chasing after ambulances to see if they can offer free coffin.  They are hired by individuals who believe that they have impending misfortunes or serious sickness as predicted by astrology.  A major karma credit or merit like offering casket to the poor may mitigate or neutralize any perceived imminent misfortune.

Why did mobile #0888-888-888 jinxe its owners?

UK's Daily Mail reports that Mobitel of Bulgaria had suspended mobile phone number 0888-888-888 because every user assigned to this line had died in the last ten years.

"The first owner, Vladimir Grashnov - the former CEO of Bulgarian mobile phone company Mobitel, which issued the number - died of cancer in 2001 aged just 48....there were persistent rumours that his cancer had been caused by a business rival using radioactive poisoning."

"The jinxed number then passed to Bulgarian mafia boss Konstantin Dimitrov..... He was gunned down in 2003 by a lone assassin in the Netherlands during a trip to inspect his £500 million drug-smuggling empire.

Dimitrov, who died aged 31, had the mobile with him when he was shot while eating out with a beautiful model."

"The phone number then passed to crooked businessman Konstantin Dishliev....He was gunned down outside an Indian restaurant in Bulgaria's capital Sofia in 2005, after taking over the jinxed line."

Chinese regards the number 8 as very auspicious because it sounds like "prosperity" or "getting wealthy". If you go to wherever Chinese are congregated, like Chinatowns, you will see many cars with license plate number full of 8s.

A mobile # with all "8"s will be auctioned off in China and Hong Kong for a very high price.

Why these unfortunate Bulgarians died in cancer or violent deaths with such an auspicious phone number?  Does the Chinese have a monopoly on the number 8?

There are a few possible explanations.  First, in Chinese numerology, the number 1, 6 and 8 are considered auspicious and "righteous".  When someone who is less than righteous, like these mafia boss and crooked businessman, using this phone number with strong "righteous" energy would be counter-productive to their type of non-righteous energy and activities.

Second possible reason is similar to first one.  This one deals with user's blessing. These people may have enough blessing or karma for a few 8s, but not nine 8s! According to Yi-Jing (Book of Changes), too much of a good thing will turn to negative.

8-star, living talisman and super-cleanser

My next door neighbor Eric has adopted a 4-month old
black puppy from the local Animal Humane Society.

The puppy looked scared when I first met it. So I put

represented by dog. Gen is 8-star. So dog is the

According to Chinese legend, today is the "yang-est"
day of the year. So you wait till noon (wu hour) and
collect a few gallons of water (can be from your tap)
and stash it away. This water is very "yang" in
nature and can be use to "cleanse" anything (like your
house, in this case, spray your house) and drive away
unclean or "yin" entities.

Talismanes Daoístas vs. World Cup Soccer

Note:  The original blog was written on June 14, 2006

My "Daoist Talisman for FS and Blessing" class was held in Mexico City last weekend.  The date has
clashed the Mexican National Soccer Team's World Cup appearance in Munich.

Soccer is the national religion of Mexico, even their on-going presidential election has to avoid clashing
these soccer match dates.

Then I've some "concerned" or "worry-some" individuals on different lists expressing some "nice" and "not so
nice" comments about me and the class.

I thank all of these concerned people--- my class is a sold out and have to add another class in September or
October.

To alleviate the fear sown intentionally or unintentionally by some "concerned" individuals, I've
taught the class two non-Daoist techniques of cleansing and securing a building and also setting up
protection shield for the practitioner.  These techniques are also applicable for FS audits.

We have done a class meditation.  Two psychics in the class can "see" Daoist and Buddhist deities in the
classroom filled with golden light.

But this class is not about religion or focus on just one religion.  It is more than just doodling.  It is
about building up strong will-power, sincerity, good intention and living a righteous life-- if you want
your talismans to be powerful.

I've stressed that Daoist talisman is only ONE of the ways to draw talismans and there are over 5+ different
Daoist schools that have different ways of drawing. If anyone claims his way is the best way or only way
to draw, the person is a nut.

In fact, there are more similarities than differences when comparing Eastern and Western ways of drawing
talisman.  Both involving pretty much the same processes... purification of materials, meditate,
invocation of deities or natural power, charging or empowering.....

Students are required to design and draw a talisman to get the class certificate.

Even to my surprise, this class has generated the most laughs compare to ALL of my classes.  It is rare to
see  a class laughs at least one third of the time.

But I guess just the Feng Shui section on how to handle Grand Duke alone worths the price of the
course.

The next Talisman class will be in Mexico City again (in English and Spanish) and then in Poland (Wroclaw,
in English and Polish).
