Secret of Mind-reading in Bazi

It is not unusual to see a Bazi reader taking a quick glance of a Bazi natal chart and spelling out some characteristics and life events of the client without thinking.  Is this Bazi reader a mind-reader?

The trick is to memorize the simple info below.

In general, when a client chart has numerous or none of a certain 10 transformation stars ("10-gods"), some deductions or generalizations can be made about this client.

When a chart 命局 has numerous ("numerous" means 3 or more): 

1. +wealth (zheng-cai)-- likely a stupid person 财多愚
2. -wealth (pian-cai)-- likely working hard for money 才多劳   
3. +power (zheng-guan)-- likely a lower class or humble person 官多贱
4. -power (qi-sha)-- likely dies prematurely or tragically 杀多死
5. +resource (zheng-yin)-- likely alone (widow/ widower/ orphan etc.) 印多孤
6. -resource (pian-yin)-- likely a vicious/treacherous person 枭多凶   
7. +output (shang-guan) --  likely a provocative or challenging person 伤多害       
8. -output (shi-shen) -- worries too much 食多愁
9. yang-ren (knives)--  likely has disability/ handicap 刃多残
10. +peer (jie-cai)-- encounters more failures than successes 劫多败  
11. -Luk (-peer, bi-jian)  likely living in poverty 禄多贫
12. traveling horses (yin, shen, si, hai)-- running around hectic working 马多奔波
13. clashes -- unstable/ insecure life 冲多不安
14. combinations--  a sociable an enthusiastic person 合多热情     
15. yang pillars--  an open-minded and frank person with no hidden agenda 阳多坦荡
16. yin pillars--  a sullen and calculated person 阴多深沉
17. tombs/storages--  jinxing close relatives 墓库多克六亲，

When a chart does not have a certain transformation star, it also has similar predictions made above except in different directions.  You may find out the details in my Bazi discussion group. 

Caution:  You need to read the whole chart to ascertain if the above pointers fit the person.  The demeaner, attitude, physical appearance and clothing style could also give hints if this straight deduction based on 10 transformation stars applies or not.   Another precaution is that special chart may not work with the above deductions.  For example,  it is quite common for special profile charts with 3+ of the same stars.  So the above is likely not applicable.

Who are your helpful friends or enemies

"Helpful friends" (also called "nobleman") are people who are likely to nurture and rescue you when you are in trouble.  "Enemies" (also called "mean people" sometimes) here refer to people who may consciously or unconsciously make your life difficult, steal your opportunities or backstabbing you.

A simple method of finding out who are your real friends or enemies is comparing the  the Chinese zodiac animal birth signs of you and the potential friends, to see if they "clash", "hai or damage" or "penalize" each other.  Below are the check list. 

Animal pairs that clash each other 相冲属相: 
-- Rat and horse, ox and ram, tiger and monkey, rabbit and rooster, dragon and dog, snake and pig.

Animal pairs that damage each other 相害属相: 

-- Rat and ram, ox and horse, tiger and snake, rabbit and dragon, monkey and pig, rooster and dog.

Animal pairs that penalize each other 相刑属相: 
-- Rat and rabbit, ox, ram and dog (3-penalities), tiger, money and snake (3-penalties), pig and pig, rooster and rooster, horse and horse, dragon and dragon.

There are folk beliefs that hold:

• Dragon and tiger fight 龙与虎会斗
• Tiger and tiger fight  一山不容二虎

However, using animal sign to predict who is your pal or enemy is a little simplistic.  A more accurate method is using Bazi or 4-Pillars to check which element (metal, wood, water, fire or wood) that your chart needs most.  You may need a Bazi reader if you do not know Bazi. Then check the following list:

IF YOUR BAZI CHART:
-- likes metal:  monkey and rooster people born in autumn are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes metal:  monkey and rooster people born in autumn are your "mean people"

-- likes water:  rat and pig people born in winter are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes water:  rat and pig people born in winter are your "mean people"

-- likes wood:  tiger and rabbit people born in spring are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes wood:  tiger and rabbit people born in spring are your "mean people"

-- likes fire:  snake and horse people born in summer are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes fire:  snake and horse people born in summer are your "mean people"

-- likes wet earth (chen/ chou):  dragon and ox people born in 3rd or 12th solar month are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes wet earth (chen/ chou):  dragon and ox people born in 3rd or 12th solar month are your "mean people"

-- likes dry earth (wei/ xu):  ram and dog people born in 6th or 9th solar month are your "nobleman"
-- dislikes dry earth (chen/ chou):  dragon and ox people born in 6th or 12th solar month are your "mean people"

Below are some secret Bazi laws that masters use to do quick reading:

八字定律：

命局财多愚，才多劳，官多贱，杀多死，印多孤，枭多凶，食多愁，伤多害，刃多残，劫多败，禄多贫，马多奔走，冲多不安，合多热心，阳多坦荡，阴多深重，墓库多克六亲，无财不真实，无官少压力，无印少福分。

Chart with numerous (3+)

1. +wealth (zheng-cai):  Daymaster (DM) is likely stupid
2. -wealth (pian-cai):  DM likely works too much
3. +power (zheng-guan):  DM is likely a lower class member/ depressed 
4. -power (qi-sha):  DM is likely to die prematurely
5. +resource (zheng-yin):  DM is likely alone/ solitary
6. -resource (pian-yin):  DM is likely a vicious person
7. +output (shang-guan):  DM is likely a disaster/ arrogant
8. -output (shi-shen):  DM worries too much/ likes eating
9. +peer (bi-jian):  DM is likely a failure/ fantasizes too much
10. Yang-knives (+peer):  DM likely has disability
11. Lu (-peer):  DM likely lives in poverty
12. Traveling Horses (yin/shen/si/hai):  DM travels a lot/ mobile, can't sit still
13. clashes:  instability and insecurity for DM
14. combinations:  DM is enthusiastic and sociable
15. more yang than yin pillars:  DM is open and honest
16. more yin than yang pillars:  DM is not open and suspicious of others
17. tomb-storages (chen/xu/chou/wei): DM is likely jinxing close relatives

Chart with NO:

• wealth star:  DM is "not real" (everyone needs wealth to survive)
• power star:  DM has less pressure
• resource star:  DM has shortage of blessing

Of course, you also need to read other parts of a chart before you giving out comments based on above laws.  There are always exceptions such as special profile charts which may give totally opposite meanings.

As you can see, a tiny paragraph written in  Chinese takes almost one page to translate in brief.  It would have taken another 2 pages if I explain what these mean in details.

Bazi: Attention drawing chart reading techniques

Note:  The following is an article that I have written for my Bazi/ 4P discussion groups.  I have removed the examples to save space here. 

Many of us may have lots of 4P knowledge but do not know where to start when facing a 4P chart.  Here are 5 major techniques for uncovering a client's past and future major fortunes and misfortunes to create "shock value" (getting attention) when you read a chart.

Technique 1:  Looking for critical "element'"(stem or branch)

Many 4P charts have a critical element that could affect chart balance when it is clashed or combined away.  When this happens, DM is likely running into disaster or misfortune.

  

Technique 2:  Looking for unfavorable element

Some charts are difficult to determine the favorable element, but unfavorable one is usually much easier to find.  In standard charts, the strongest element usually is the unfavorable element.  Look for an annual luck (AL ) with the unfavorable element WITHIN the same unfavorable  luck period (10YL), DM is very likely suffering major setback or disaster due to the doubling of unfavorable elements. 

Technique 3:  Looking for the years when favorable element is clashed/ combined away

The year when favorable element is clashed or combined, DM is likely to suffer misfortune or disaster because the favorable element cannot keep the chart balance. 

Technique 4:  Looking for combinations-- if they result in transformation or not.

1.   When natal chart has combination that cannot transform to new element and runs into annual luck or period luck which brings in the transformation element, DM should have major changes in his life.  The auspiciousness of the change depends on whether the transformed element is favorable to the chart or not.  Sometimes this new addition or quantity of elements may even change the favorable element, qi-flow and balance of the chart.  These are all reasons of major changes of DM's luck and life situations.

2.  When a natal chart has potential 3-unities/ 3-meeting formation that short one element and this missing element is bought to the chart by AL or 10YL, DM's luck and life will see changes regardless if the combination is successful or not.  This is due to the structure of origin natal chart goes through major change in structure and qi-flow, similar to #1 above.

3.  Existing successful combination is "broken" by AL/ 10YL in a natal chart will likely change the structure, qi-flow, balance and even the un/favorable elements.  DM will likely have changes in luck and life situations.

Technique 5:  Looking for qi-circulation

Many natal charts have their own route/s of qi-circulation within a Bazi chart (Note: circulation route of a chart must be forward or backward based on nurturing relationship for same level element; upward or downward for different level element.  There is no diagonal movement).  When this qi-flow route/s is/are interrupted by AL or 10YL, DM is likely to have change of luck and life situations.
