Dos and Don'ts of "Wealth Position"

After you have located the wealth positions of your house using the info from my previous blog article,  you may want to know what to do with it.  Below is a list of dos and don'ts of wealth position.

Wealth position SHOULD:

1. be bright and not dark--  this position should "see" sunshine or illuminated by a light.
2. have vitality or "sheng-qi"-- you can put soil-based plants with large leaves like rubber plant, dracaena cane and epipremnum.
   
3. have residents sitting or have the dinner table put there, so residents can "absorb" the wealth energy.
4. have residents sleeping there-- to absorb "wealth energy"
5. look and feel "auspicious"-- put some wealth symbols like treasure bowl, wealth god statue or your own cultural symbols of wealth there.
6. have a wall or support behind it

Wealth position SHOULD NOT:

1. be dim or dark -- darkness reflects lacking vitality and will affect wealth luck.
2. be cluttered and dirty-- blocking and hurting wealth energy
3. have spiky and thorny plants like cactus
4. be empty or lacking support-- window in a wealth position will leak wealth energy.  Wealth energy cannot accumulate without a wall there
5. have water there-- wealth is metal in nature and water will "drain" metal in Chinese 5-elements theory 见财化水
6. have no pressure or heavy objects like cupboards, storage chest, bookcase and etc.
7. no over-beam on wealth position
8. no clash or "chong" by sharp corners or wall edges

Revenge of the homeless DOGS 流浪狗复仇记

I know you are disappointed.  Yes, it is the dogs, not the nerds. 

This incident had happened in December, 2015 at the Shijiazhuang City
石家庄 of China's Hebei Province.  A man had kicked a homeless dog out of his parking space located in front of his apartment.  He thought the dog would leave his parking space quietly......

But,  this doggie is no ordinary tramp.  He had rallied his dog pals back to the parking space when the man was not home.  They had a chewing party or did the "revenge of the homeless dogs" show.

"I have marked this my territory.  You big red monster go away!"

"Yummy and chewy.  Is this your ear?"

"It is nice to share!  Here communism still rules the land."

A Chinese netizen commented, "Dogs have self-respect too."

Another wrote:  "Homeless dogs also have sensitive feeling.  Please do not hurt them.  Dogs are human's best friends. "  "其实流浪狗也有细腻的情感，请不要再伤害他们。他们本是人类最好的朋友...。"

Dogs behave like human beings too.  They remember what you did to them and react accordingly.

Surviving construction at 5-yellow disaster star location

A few weeks ago, I was waken up by loud machinery noises of cutting and hammering from outside my home.  I went out and found that my dragon side (left) neighbor has contracted a construction firm to replace the vinyl siding and roof of his house.  Both were damaged by a hail storm earlier and insurance pays for the repair.  Essentially this neighbor has a "skin replacement" for his house.

Besides waking me up early for a week or more (I am a night owl), the biggest problem I see was a big part of his house is in the north-east side of my house.  5-yellow disaster star is in the NE this year.  Excessive noises and movement may instigate the wrath of this star, causing injury, accident, losing wealth and even death.

5-yellow star is earth in nature, the fix usually is metal or coin-salt solution.

I have searched my house for possible remedies and found a gold-colored calabash and some Chinese Qian-long coins.  Qian-long was one of the emperors during China's Qing Dynasty. This combination should do the job.

Normally I put six coins in a circle shape to neutralize 5-yellow star.  I was too lazy to take 6 coins out of my string inventory of coins.  So I have used all the coins (around 60) in the string and put it on top of the calabash.  I put this remedy combination in the NE region facing the construction site.   You may use your own local copper or brass coins instead.  Just make sure the denomination of the coin is not 25 cents, 5 cents, two dollars or 5 dollars each.

This roofing and siding job has taken about 10 days.  I am still in one piece and no major mishaps happened.  However, my sales suffered during the period.  But this is still better than losing an arm or leg.  You win some and lose some.

Rain-making with Imperial QMDJ

In early May of this year, a student of the Imperial QMDJ discussion list had emailed me:

"Dear Sifu Ken,
Here in XXXXX we are in dire straits. It has not rain for over two months. Last week in one early morning it did rain but it was short and brief. Our Catholic Church has even issued a prayer for rain."

This student had discussed using "Dragon-Dun" and "Cloud-Dun" QMDJ profiles to pray for rain. Dragon-Dun and Cloud-Dun are part of the famous "9-Dun" in QMDJ. "Dun”means escape or retreat in Chinese.  9-Dun are among the most auspicious Qi-Men profiles.  It consists of a group of "9-apps"  (in internet language)--  heaven-dun, earth-dun, human-dun, cloud-dun, wind-dun, dragon-dun, spirit-dun and ghost-dun. 

Dragon-Dun Characteristics (taken from Imperial QMDJ main manual) 

-- Utilizing water for battles, crossing bridges and flooding enemies

-- Worshiping dragon gods, praying for rain and starting voyages

-- Constructing/repairing bridges/ dams, digging wells, fishing and water-management

Cloud-Dun Characteristics: 
-- Good for hiding, retreating and ambushing; benefits host but not guest

-- Good for both defense and attack; can do guerrilla type attacks

-- Suitable for boosting morale and army equipment, battle-planning, building castle and making weapons

-- Good for learning Dao or spiritual pursuit, praying for rain or making artificial rain

This student had followed the Imperial QMDJ procedures (not disclose here) and prayed during a dragon-dun hour and did the same in a cloud-dun hour on May 15, 2016.  He emailed me on May 16 with the following:

"Of the (selected) date and time and direction, (we) first go to the dragon-dun at north (and) then cloud-dun in the west.  And guess what ? Today we prayed in the morning.  Around noon there were trickles and I thought this was it.  But the sun came out this evening.  Around 8:30 pm there was a downpour three consecutive times😇😇😇.  Your apprentice (had) witnessed the rain (and wondered) whether (this was) coincidence or not 😊☺️😉" 

Given the drought situation in southeast Asia, this student can probably setup shop for "rain-making" service.

"9-Dun" are some of the most likely to work and powerful techniques in QMDJ.

Dogs are more humane than people 狗比人有情

According to news, an old woman in Jiangxi Province (China) suddenly fell down while cycling at 4 am on May 15, 2016.  Ambulance and police had come and concluded the woman deceased and left without taking the body away nor arranging any mortuary service to handle the corpse.

The body was left on the road around 4 am.

This old woman made a living by scavenging or recycling garbage in the city.  She had adopted 8 homeless dogs.  Her dogs surrounded and guarded her body after the ambulance and police had left.

Her body was still laid in open even at 10 am of the same day.  Her dogs still stayed around her.  People were deeply touched by the scene.

Pictures of this incident was posted on the web. A netizen wrote,

" All this old woman has are 8 homeless dogs accompanied her when she left this earth.  I wish there is no pain in heaven-- have a smooth final journey."

“离世后只有老人生前收养的8只流浪狗陪伴在她身边，愿天堂没有痛苦，一路走好”。

Others commented:

While most Chinese netizens are angered by the indignity and sad ending of this old woman.  A reader gives a different opinion:

"Granny probably preferred the company of her dogs to the apathetic and materialistic human realm. 
婆婆寧願與狗多伴一會也未必願意去到冰冷又見利忘義的人類範圍。

Her spirit is surrounded and protected by loyal dogs is a blessing too.

 Many people have seen their children's greedy faces for inheritance even before their last breath.  Isn't this more unfortunate than the granny?" 
不少人未斷氣便已經見到仔女貪婪其財物之嘴臉，不是比婆婆更可悲嗎？

Dogs are more reliable than human.  Whether you are poor, rich, sick, homeless or disrepute, they will not walk away.  They will always stay with you till the end.

Dogs can see spirits and ghosts.  I think the old woman's spirit is still at the scene of incident and her dogs can see her.  So they stayed there.

In search of "wealth positions" in your house 财位

How to locate the "wealth positions" of a house is an attention drawer for both live seminar and Feng Shui audit. 

In Feng Shui, "wealth position" refers to the prosperous location that "stores wind and accumulates qi" (藏风聚气 ) to produce wealth.  Different Feng Shui schools have their own interpretations of the locations of "wealth positions".

WEALTH POSITION PERSPECTIVES
Form Feng Shui:  The corner/s diagonal to the main door is/are the wealth positions.
However, if there is a window in that corner, this wealth position is "leaking" wealth.

Bazhai or 8-Mansions Feng Shui:  The "sheng-qi 生气" or "vitality" sector is the wealth position of the house.   See the table below:

Xuan-Kong Feng Shui:  The location of current "timely star" (for current Period 8 is the "8-white earth" star) is the wealth position.  For the wealth location of current year, run the annual star in the center palace of the annual chart.  The location where the "8-star" lands is the wealth location.  For example, the annual star for year 2016 is "2-black earth" and 8-star lands on SW.  So SW is the annual wealth position  (see the 2016 annual chart =>)
FYI:  Annual Wealth Positions:
2017 East
2018 SE
2019 Center
2020 NW
2021 West
2022 NE
2023 South
2024 North

2025 SW  (and repeat the cycle; 2026 will be East again)

San-Yuan-9-Periods Feng Shui:  This school considers the current period star and the next two future period stars locations are the wealth positions, with the current one being the most powerful.  For current Period 8, the wealth positions are:  NE (most powerful), South and North (lest powerful).

Will the real QMDJ please stand up?

It is over 10 years since I first taught the San Yuan version of QMDJ in English.  At that time, there were not many versions of QMDJ available, even in Chinese.

Today's QMDJ scene is totally different. There are numerous versions of QMDJ available, especially in mainland China.  Most are "private label" QMDJ using the teacher's name as title, like "John Doe QMDJ".  Some exploit the names of well-known religions as labels.  Most claim "secret lineage", "family heirloom" or "recent rediscovery of ancient manuscripts".

Most of these "QMDJ" are copycats of San Yuan QMDJ with minor modifications.  They either change the methods or procedures of deriving the QMDJ chart.  For example, "Daoist QMDJ" uses Liu-ren or Plum-flower method to randomize the QMDJ chart selection.  Others simply make minor additions or subtractions of some insignificant QMDJ features to make themselves "unique".  Most if not all keep the QMDJ engine or contents and interpretation methods intact.  After all, it is too much work to recreate the whole QMDJ engine. 

Unfortunately, some of these "mutant" QMDJ have been translated into English and invaded English-speaking countries. 

Mainland Chinese QMDJ focuses more on divination and external indicators while Taiwanese QMDJ focuses on date and task selections.  

So which one is the real or authentic QMDJ?  It is easy to decide if you have patience.  Wait a few years and you will find most of these "A-goods" QMDJ ("A-货", Chinese term for counterfeit or fake goods) will disappear from the cyberspace.  Simply don't be tempted by all the claims made by these QMDJ marketers.  You may have better luck to learn from teachers who have been teaching QMDJ for over 10+ years.  Opportunists who aim for some quick bucks are unlikely to last this long.
