Minimalist Feng Shui Guide for 2013 Year of Snake

Gui-si or year of Water Snake will be here in a few weeks.  You may want to fix the regions in your house that will become "dangerous" to fix or dig after Feb.3, 2013 now.

We use the annual Feng Shui chart to evaluate the yearly movements of Feng Shui energies. This chart is based on Purple White Method which holds that 1,6, 8 and 9-star locations are auspicious. 2-black sickness and 5-yellow disaster star locations are inauspicious. 

The annual chart for 2013 is interesting because all the stars return to their original  post-heaven Bagua locations.  For the year of snake,  5-yellow disaster star will be in the center of every house.   You want to fix this 5-yellow energy if your stairway is at the center of your house due to frequent movements.   Tai Sui or Grand Duke is at Si mountain or SSE location.  San Sha or 3-killings are in Yin (ENE), Mao (E) and Chen (ESE) mountains or locations.  Sui-po or year-breaker is at Hai (NNW) mountain. Avoid movements, digging, drilling and constructions in these locations.


"Minimalist Feng Shui"  here fixes only 2-5, 5-5, and 9-5 star combinations in regions with activities.  You don't need to put up remedies or Feng Shui monsters in all 9-palaces of your house, especially in region of no activity like storage room and guest room.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
Grand Duke is at Si mountain (SSE) -- minimize movements and avoid construction or digging.    If your house faces Si mountain, your house is said to be "Chong" or clashing Grand Duke.  You may want to put a Grand Duke Talisman there for protection (see my previous message on how to get one).  It is auspicious to have Grand Duke at your back but NOT facing him.

Sui Po or year-breaker is at Hai mountain (NNW)-- avoid construction or digging.

San Sha or 3-killings are at Yin, Mao and Chen mountains (Yin mountain to Chen mountain region) -- avoid construction or digging.  It is OK to face San Sha direction but NOT sitting on them. Traditional fix for San Sha is ki-lun figurine.  But if you cannot get or afford ki-lun, you may use a sword-waving archangel St. Michael figurine or picture instead.

5-yellow disaster star at center palace - avoid construction or digging and movements.  Put up metal or coin/salt solution fix there, especially if your house-sitting is in SW because of the 2-5 combination in the center.  Put up a white crystal fix if your house-sitting is in the south due to 9-5 combination in the center. (Note: North-sitting house needs 9-5 fix in the South and Northeast- sitting house needs 2-5 fix in SW).

5-tiger sha at Wu (south) , Wei (SSW) and Ding (SSW) mountains-- avoid construction or digging and movements.

Yang nobleman sign for this year is  Si (snake).  Yin nobleman is Mao (rabbit).

You need to do a good date-selection if you need to do construction in any of the above locations (mountains/ palace) or better doing it before end of the current year (dragon year).

People with pig and snake zodiac sign should avoid seeing corpse being put into a coffin or burial for this year.

2013 Grand Duke Talisman Charity Drive

This post is based on last year's "Grand Duke Talisman charity drive" with updates for 2013.

The "extra strength" 2012 GD talisman seems to have saved you from the 2012 end of the world event.

If you have read my old message about functions of Grand Duke, you know that there are two Grand Dukes watching over your shoulder, counting the good and bad deeds that you have done and executing rewards and misfortunes accordingly. This is a major rationale that donation to get your Grand Duke talisman.  When your talisman is grounded with a charitable deed, GD is less likely to execute any misfortunes due from your karma account. 

2013 GRAND DUKE GENERAL XU DAN
2013 is Gui-Si or year of water-snake. Grand Duke for the year is General Xu Dan who was a military officer in Han Dynasty (25- 220 AD). Xu was known for his bravery and generosity.  He had conquered the barbarian tribes and small kingdoms that had plagued the west side of China with an army of volunteers. Over 50 tribes and kingdoms were annexed into the Han Kingdom with Xu's help.

2013  GRAND DUKE TALISMAN 
Si or year of Snake can be very dangerous for people with Shen (monkey) and Yin (tiger) signs because these signs can form "Yin-Si-Shen 3-penalties".   People with this penalty usually jinx their close relative to major sickness/ injury or even death.  However,  some people may experience meteoric rise to fame overnight if the 3-penalties elements are favorable in their Bazi charts.  People with Hai or pig sign in their Bazi chart may suffer injuries caused by fire or water.

Here are the four groups of people who need Grand Duke Talismans:

1. "Fu-yin" or same animal sign of Grand Duke 值太岁-- people with SNAKE sign 

BIRTH YEARS: 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001

SYMPTOMS: obstacles, stagnation or running "reverse" instead of forward and not suitable for travels.

2. "Fan-yin" or "clashing" the animal sign of Grand Duke 冲太岁-- people with PIG sign

BIRTH YEARS: 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007

SYMPTOMS: big fluctuations in luck, accident, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death, changing job

3. "Hai" or "harming" the animal sign of Grand Duke 害太岁-- people with TIGER sign

BIRTH YEARS: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010

SYMPTOMS: backstabbing at work, and success slips away in the last minute

4. "Po" or "breaking" the animal sign of Grand Duke 破太岁-- people with MONKEY sign (also penalizing GD)

BIRTH YEARS: 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004

SYMPTOMS: legal problems, accidents, injuries by knife, low luck and personal safety problems

GD TALISMAN FOR FENG SHUI REMEDY

If your house faces Si mountain or SSE direction, you need to put up a Grand Duke talisman facing that direction and avoid construction, earth-digging and demolition there.

If your desk or wherever you sit for an extended time faces Si or SSE direction, you can put up a Grand Duke talisman there for protection.  It is not auspicious to face the Grand Duke direction.  It weakens your competition power in business/career and examinations.

Chinese numerology: 201314 爱你一生一世

Today is January 4, 2013 or 201314 for short.  The number "201314"  sounds like literally "Love (2) you (0) this (1) lifetime (3) and (1) generation (4)" in Chinese (爱你一生一世).  This romantic implication has created long lines in the marriage registration bureaus in China.  Would-be couples want to get their marriage licenses today for this auspicious meaning.

What can you do if you have missed this good date for marriage registration?  Don't worry, you have almost a year to do it because 2013 is still around.  Besides, 201314 is not the best number because "4" also sounds like "dead" in Chinese.  It can also be read as "love (2) you (0) one (1) survives (3) one (1) dies (4) (爱你一生一死)

5-yellow disaster star at my gate

5-yellow disaster star is at the southeast for the 2012.  One should avoid movements in location with negative stars like 5-yellow.  My main door and garage door face southeast.  So I keep my fingers crossed....

Not much happen throughout the year until last November and early December, when the month star 4-green wood is at the center and 3-jade wood star in southeast.  Within a few weeks, the torsion spring of my garage door broke, followed by the lock of my front door and garage door opener.  All are door and metal-related problems. I guess strong wood energy in November had cracked metal which was drained by 5-yellow earth.

I have lost a small fortune for all the door and lock repairs.  This is called "fending off major disasters with losing wealth".

Today while I put up a flood light for my driveway,  my neighbor Gary asked, " Ken, you have put up a surveillance camera last month and then changed your door lock.  What do you put up this time?  What happens?  My luck sucks lately.  Your cousin told me that you can put a curse on me because you got my birth date. Do you put a curse on me? "

I have laughed my head off and replied,

"Pal,  I bought the surveillance camera because of the Thanksgiving sale.  My door lock had broken, my garage door torsion spring and opener were broken because the disaster star is at my door direction.  Your luck is down probably because you have the same door direction.  I am too lazy to put a curse on you."

"I have burnt native American sage around my house.  I have meditated and created a bubble surrounding my house.  So no negative energy can go through and hurt me!"  Gary said.

"Don't worry, it hurts me more if I put out curses.  Besides, I had forgotten your birth date."  Said I.

I had read Gary's 4P chart when he had lost his job last year and given him some metaphysical tricks to find another job.  He found a new job within a few months but did not bother to tell me.  And I had worried about him and his family for another 6 months until I heard from another neighbor that he is working.  Same thing happened to me with another "formerly" unemployed neighbor.

Well, at least they had mowed my lawn and shuffled snow for me in return......

Darn!  How come he knows I have changed my door lock?  I do it myself and I think no one had watched.
