Unusual 4-Pillars Readings

I do quick 4-Pillars readings for my friends and students when they run into crisis, new girl friends or simply some interesting or difficult charts.

Late last year a friend had emailed me a male chart with no specific questions. The chart has self-penalty, day and luck pillar battling (fan-yin) and potential 3-penalties.  I told her that the chart owner is likely to have major events happen.

A few weeks later, this friend told me the chart belongs to her dog.  It had died of kidney failure in a jia-yin day.  The day branch yin formed a si-shen-yin 3-penalties with the rest of the dog's natal chart.

Last April (Jia-chen month) another friend had emailed me this male chart and asked what would happen to the chart owner.

Y: ding-hai  (2007)
M: xin-hai
D: ding-wei
H: missing info

Current 10-year luck: geng-xu
Annual luck: ren-chen  (2012)
Current month: jia-chen  (April 2012)

There were numerous clashes and penalties in this chart:
  • hai-hai self-penalty
  • chen-chen self-penalty
  • chen-xu clash
  • 10-year luck battles current month
  • likely to have xu-chou-wei 3-penalties, activated by chen clashing xu
When a chart has numerous clashes and penalties going on, serious injury or accident is likely to happen.  Death may occur if the hour pillar is a chou or somehow a chou gets into the system to form a complete 3-penalties with clashing by Grand Duke (chen for current year). I had predicted possible head or limbs injury.

This friend had emailed me later that the male chart belongs to his race horse!  It had broken one of his legs during a race in April and was euthanized on the spot (likely a shot at the head).  He was so sad that he had arranged several monks to perform a Buddhist reincarnation ritual for the deceased horse.

I had done Bazi reading for cats before but not dog and horse.  Why Bazi reading is also applicable to animals?  The basic premise of Bazi is that all living things are supported and affected by the five element energies of water, wood, fire, earth and metal.  When one is not affected by these 5-element energies, one is either dead or becomes an immortal.

Animals are also affected by the same energies and hence Bazi reading will also be applicable -- with some minor modifications due to the variations of gestation period and life expectancy.

"Pet Bazi"?  Why not?  It is good for the economy.  People are more generous with their pets than themselves sometimes.

Bazi or 4-Pillars of Weight loss

The basic principle of Bazi or 4-Pillars is balance-- if the day-master of a person is strong, we try to weaken it and strengthen it if it is weak.  So the question of weight loss is also based on the strength of the day-master.

In other words, people with day-master that is on the strong side are suitable to do weight loss.  It will improve their luck and get better weight control results.

People who have balanced day-master, regardless of body weight, are not suitable to do any weight loss.

People whose day-master are on the weak side should not do weight loss or their luck will slide.  They are also likely to regain the lost weight and wasting their weight-control expenses.

Here is a summary:

DAY-MASTER STRENGTH/   WEIGHT LOSS
Strong                             suitable to do
Weak                               not suitable
Balanced                          not suitable
Extreme strong                 not suitable
Extreme weak                   suitable
====================================
In terms of 4P charts, women with "Shi-shen" (-output or "eating god" ) profile chart (shi-shen in month branch) are likely to have a "full" figure, especially those without resource (zheng-yin/pian-yin) elements to control the shi-shen or "eating god".

Zheng-cai stands for wealth and wife for man in Bazi.  If a man's wife is doing weight loss, she can possibly hurt his wealth luck!  Some of you here should thank me for giving you a great reason to keep on eating.

If you do not understand these Bazi terms, you may take my "4-Pillars Bootcamp" video course. If your cannot afford the course,  you may use the below to determine if you have a strong or weak day-master:

You are likely to have a strong day-master if you
--  like to work by yourself and not in teams
--  are decisive
--  are opinionated
-- have people like to borrow your money but not repaying you

You are likely to have a weak day-master if you
--  like to work with others
--  are indecisive or hesitate a lot
--  like to procrastinate
--  easily follow/agree with others

Meeting Sakyamuni Buddha in Hong Kong

Sakyamuni Buddha
In 1011, during the Song Dynasty of China, a monk from India, Master Danapala, had offered the sacred relic of the skull of Sakyamuni Buddha to Emperor Zhen.  This relic was housed in the underground palace of the Sacred Relic Pagoda inside Changgan Temple.

The Sacred Relic Pagoda was destroyed later due to war and the relic was disappeared for over 1000 years.

In 2008, during an archeological excavation of the Great Baoen Temple, the original underground palace housing the relic was discovered.  The sacred relic of the skull of Sakyamuni Buddha has "reappeared".

Relics of Sakyamuni Buddha are not rare because there were over 80,000 pieces of Buddha's relics collected when he was cremated.  But a large chunk of his skull like the rediscovered one is very rare and considered "national treasure" and the ultimate holy relic of the Buddhist world.

From April 25 to 30th (2012), this sacred relic is transported to Hong Kong to celebrate the birthday of Buddha and the 15th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China.  The public is invited to see and pay homage to the relic in a coliseum.  Over 300,000 people have attended this event.

The weather was strange during the relic exhibition. The city here had unusually big rain and thunderstorms during mid-nights and sunshine or hazy sky during the days.  The rainfall had cleansed and purified the qi or energy of the city.  Some Buddhists said that beings other than human also wanted to pay their homage to the Buddha relic-- hence bringing the big thunderstorms at night.

I was fortunate to be in Hong Kong doing research when the exhibition was on. This is probably my affinity with Buddha.

Majority of the relic worshipers are from the older generations-- most are over 50 years old.  Older folks are probably thinking more about what will happen after death. I saw many old, sick, infirm and people on wheelchairs coming to "meet" Buddha-- similar to people in the western world flocking to holy sites with relics for inspirations and faith-healing.

I had seen other Buddhist relics, including Sakyamuni Buddha's crystallized relics in small bead form in 2005 when there was a relic exhibition in Minnesota.  I remember the indescribable pleasant and calm energies near the relics even the exhibition room was crowded with sweating people.

I felt the same jubilant and peaceful energies in the coliseum. Some people were in states of euphoria.

I like the feeling of this holy energy and seized the opportunities to stick around the coliseum.  I ended up attended Dharma Services three times and absorbed a few hours of Buddha energies.

"The opportunity to see the sacred relic is as good as meeting Buddha" (得見舍利,如見佛陀). Now I can die a happy man.

Luopan Feud

I have visited a retail outlet of a prolific Feng Shui writer and master in Hong Kong.  This outlet showcases his luopans and Feng Shui remedies like Kilun, bagua, ethnic cures and the likes.

When I entered this Feng Shui center, the salesmen there had a heated argument with two customers who looked and sounded like from out of town. Both side repeated the same arguments again and again and emotion was getting high.

The customers had complained the luopan that they bought from this center is inaccurate and off by 2 degrees when benchmarking it with their friend's luopan.

The salesman said that he has already exchanged a better model for him.

The customers said the "better model" is also off by two degrees with their friend's luopan as benchmark.  They said they are not satisfied with the quality of the luopan products in this center.  They want their money back.

In Hong Kong and most Asian countries, refund for a product is rare unless specified and written in advance.  The salesman had refused refund but nevertheless offering the refund as store credit to purchase anything in the store.

The customers got very irritated and yelled that they will take the luopan if they can see the famous master and hear that "it is OK for a luopan to off by 2 degrees".

The salesman did not fall into this trap and refused.

This famous master has sold thousands of luopans over the last 30 years.  I do not believe his luopans can be this bad to have two in a row off by 2 degrees.  The salesman probably is not smart enough to counter-argue that customer's benchmark luopan is inaccurate.

On a spiritual level, luopan needs to "match" the energy imprint or "qi" of a user. It works well and gives accurate measurement when there is an affinity between the luopan and the user.  A luopan can be an extension of your body and mind.  It can feel your heart-beat when your mind is not quiet during a measurement.  This is why loaning your luopan to another person is not a good idea.

Anyway, anyone who believe luopan is infallible probably is naive.  Most luopans using a non-fluid magnetic needle in the market is at most accurate to +/- one degree.  By the same logic, Feng Shui measurements requiring accuracy down to less than one degree, like Xuan Kong Da Gua, is probably wishful thinking. There are more arguments on the problems of luopan measurements even in the less demanding situation like 24 mountains.  I may cover it in the future.

Happy May 1 Labor Day!
