Gambler Strikes Back-- with Feng Shui Lawsuit

AFP reports that a Taiwanese "high roller"  Mr. Yuan threatens to sue the Venetian Casino of Las Vegas for "Feng Shui sabotage" that caused him losing US$2 million dollars.

Read this link for how the "sabotage" was set up:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090530/od_afp/taiwanusgamingoffbeat_20090530062157

Amazingly, Venetian has promised to refund Mr. Yuan $100,000 in cash and the rest in chips.

This could be the beginning of profitable business for Feng Shui practitioners to be expert witness of "Feng Shui sabotage" lawsuits and get the casinos to refund some money to the gamblers.

This can also be a big headache for casinos in Asia-- most of them, like the ones in Macau, Malaysia and even Singapore-- are Feng-shuied to the teeth, to make sure the gamblers keep contributing to their bottomlines.  Now gamblers have a reason and precedent to sue their pants off.

Will the casinos "de-feng-shui" their joints to avoid lawsuits?

There will be a new genre of Feng Shui job-- certifying casinos as "Feng Shui free", so that high rollers will flock there and gamble without worry.

You may  write "Gambler's Feng Shui Guide" to show which casino has the most unfriendly Feng Shui.....

"De-Feng Shui" as a new type of Feng Shui business....  strange thing happens all the time.

When to call in Feng Shui help

When to call in your Feng Shui consultants:

-- before you buy a new property
-- before you move into a new rental property
-- many unexpected and unpleasant events happened after moving into a new property
-- unexpected unfavorable career changes
-- family members suddenly have unusually high incidence of accidents or health problems
-- serious health problems like cancer
-- multiple deaths in the family
-- children's academic performance suddenly drops like a rock
-- family members does not like staying home or returning late
-- more arguments among family members
-- insecure feeling
-- problem in sleeping
-- life overall is full of obstacles

Of course, it will be helpful to check the 4P charts of major family members before hiring Feng Shui consultants, to make sure the events are Feng Shui related and not due to your low luck period. Feng Shui can't help much if your current luck is on the low side.

Ghost in the attic or Ghost Feng Shui

My second son Kevin goes to college. He had recently moved to a 3 storeys rooming house. The house was built in the early 1900's and was recently remodeled.
--
He and a friend live in the attic level. Second level was empty when they moved in.
--
They soon feel "someone" is watching them. So Kevin asked me for remedies.
I gave him some pictures of buddha, Daoist deities and some holy buddha water to cleanse their rooms.
--
One late mid-night, Kevin rushed back to my house in fear. He said the ghost made him dizzy and lose consciousness for half an hour and knocked down his guitar. So he and his room-mate fled the house.
--
Kevin further said when their friends (visitors) and them chat about the ghost, strange thing will happen-- like a window will suddenly bang or making strange noise. It seems the ghost makes sure you are aware of his/her presence.
--
I had prepared a talisman and empowered it with the blessing of Supreme Lao Jun, a high level Daoist deity. I told my kid that this is the most powerful talisman for handling ghost. Kevin took it back to his rooming house.
--
He did not call me for a week. So I suppose the talisman does it job.
--
Since I have not seen his room before, I decided to visit him last week.
--
Kevin put the talisman in a photo-frame and hang it on the wall facing his bedroom door. He said the entity does not bother him although s/he is still around whenever people talk about it.
--
When I walked around his room, I could feel the ghost was following us!
--
This ghost may have more rights to stay in this house than the new occupants. I guess s/he must be an old occupant of the past.
--
Two girls have just moved into the second floor where the kitchen is located. They see the moving shadow of the ghost in the kitchen!
--
No wonder Kevin takes my talisman-bead wristband and wears it all the time!
--
The talisman that I gave to Kevin is non-aggressive but a blessing talisman that offers forgiveness to past sins.
--
POSTSCRIPT: Traditional Feng Shui and Yi-jing (I-Ching, The Book of Changes) do not think there is "ghost" but "yin-qi" (energy). Too much yin-qi (like inadequate lighting) in a house will generate yin energy ("ghost"). So a easy fix will be making the house or room more "yang" by putting up an "everlasting lamp" (always on light) and/ or making the room more open and brighter.
--
A Feng Shui trick to get rid of ghost is to open a "wang door" (auspicious door, ask your Feng Shui teacher how to do it). But it is too much or impossible to create a "wang door" in a rental property. I have once used this trick to determine if a haunted house had changed "heaven's heart" (period) or not because a "wang door" was accidentally set up by the new owner.

Think and Kill it

This is not a typo-- "think and kill it", not the "think and get it" from the positive thinking and "attraction" gurus.

Last Saturday I went to an electronic store and saw a great deal on a large LCD TV and ALMOST bought it. I had resisted temptation by thinking my 16 years old TV still "works".

Then on Sunday, my faithful TV emitted a "pop" sound and RIP (died).

"Boy, either my subconscious mind is so strong that killed the old TV or I got a very jealous TV." I thought.

Anyway, I do not want my old TV died for nothing. It gives me the inspiration to create the "Think and Kill it" books, tapes, DVDs, seminar and correspondence courses.

Imagine how much one will pay for "eliminating" or "neutralizing" (nicer words for "kill") their competitions, annoying boss or supervisors, love triangle, hated spouse for insurance claims and more--- without legal hassles? This is like doing "think and get it" from the back door.

Ken, have you bought the big LCD TV then?

"Not yet, I need to trace my thought processses to recreate the 'think and kill it' sequence, do some testings (any volunteer?), write the manual and then sell it like crazy--- before I can buy the TV."

"Huh, let me think of a major competition, who is the lucky fellow?" His or her spouse may be interested in a free trial of this course.

We have been working for peanuts!

We Feng Shui people have been working for peanuts.

From the late Nina Wang estate lawsuit, it shows that Nina had paid HK$10M (US$1.3M) "bonus" to her Feng Shui consultant after his Feng Shui "formation" helped her win her late husband's estate (I may write about this FS "formation" when I have time).

But compare to this "little bonus", Tony Chan, the secret lover and litigant for the sole beneficiary of Nina's huge estate, got paid even "more".

According to the original heir of Nina, Chinachem charity, Nina had paid Chan a total of THREE payments of about HK$688 million (US$88.8 million) EACH for his Feng Shui service!

I guess this is the highest a Feng Shui guy has made in history-- US$270M in 15 years.

Chan claims that Nina had sent him cash by the truckloads!

For those who wants to know more about the juicy contents of this case, please read:

Foreign news reports often cut the Feng Shui part of the case. There are quite a few interesting Feng Shui details within and outside this case.

It is obvious that Chan's lawyers portray Chan as a Feng Shui idiot ("low level Feng Shui knowledge") and that it is "love" that Nina Wang willed the estate to him; whereas the heir said that Chan is good at Feng Shui and had run a Feng Shui shop and did Feng Shui audits for local celebrities before running into Nina.

The original heir hits the case from all possible fronts:
1. portrays Chan as a Feng Shui master and used ritualistic Feng Shui trick to dupe Nina out of her estate.
2. the will is forged
3. if the will is not forged, then Nina's mental condition are questionable at the time when the will was written
4. Nina's 2002 will was very elaborated, amended 5 times and was written in Chinese. Chan's alleged will is short, in English and has writing errors.
----
In terms of the court of public opinion, Chan loses. The public perceive him as greedy and stealing from charity, especially he was already paid HK$2800M (US$360M) by his own admission. Not to mention the moral implications that he started the affair 3 months after he had married his current wife.
--
This brings up a dilemma for FS expert witness. Most FS lineages have strict rules on who their students can serve. Here are some common "no service" groups:
--
-- non-filial persons
-- disloyal persons
-- gambling halls
-- brothels
-- immoral people
-- greedy people
-- mean people
-- rich but unkind people
-- shameless people
--
The western notion of justice assumes someone is innocent unless proven guilty. Chinese and most Asian countries have the opposite idea: you are guilty unless proven othewise. So it is easier to be FS expert witness in the west when your client has not yet been proven guilty.
--
The FS expert witness for Chan will be in a no-win situation. If winning the case, the local FS community and the public are likely to perceived him/her as helping Chan to grab money from charity. If losing the case, will there be more witness job or even local FS jobs coming?
--
Chan is smart to get someone from overseas instead of a local master who is likely to be biased.
--
Well, I'm going to re-price my courses, so that I can afford more peanuts... maybe it is easier to find a rich client.
