Feng Shui: Wealth-losing doors 破财门

Door location and its surrounding critically affect the Feng Shui of a house, especially its wealth aspect.  Below is a list of "wealth-losing doors" based on Form Feng Shui.  How these doors affecting wealth losses is not discussed here to keep this blog short. 

WEALTH-LOSING DOORS
1.  Door facing a corridor (inside a building) or road:  this is also called "heart-piercing sha" (一剑穿心 ).
2.  Door facing a downward or upward stair:  this is called "wealth retreating stair" (退财梯).  Downward stair leaks wealth whereas upward stair loses wealth opportunities to others.
3.  Door facing an elevator:  this is called "qi or energy absorbing stair" (吸气梯).  Qi or wealth energy of a house or apartment is "drawn" away by the elevator.
4.  Two or more doors in a straight-line to end of house or backdoor/ window:  Wealth energy from outside goes straight to outside of house.
5.  Door is too narrow or small, thus limiting wealth energy flow into the house.
6.  Door is damaged, broken or has cracks:  this is called "qi-leaking door" (漏气门) and implying leaking wealth.
7.  "See-three door" (三见门):  "Three" here means seeing toilet, kitchen and mirror when entering through the door.  All are not good for wealth energy.

Remedies for these doors are mostly using screen doors.  Consult a Feng Shui practitioner or take my Form Feng Shui course for remedies.

Easy Power and Career Feng Shui

The locations specified in this article are in terms of the sitting and facing direction of a house or office/ business.  These locations, in general, are good for enhancing the power or authority and career luck of a personal.  The career location is also good for enhancing wealth.

The table below shows these locations:

HOW TO USE THESE LOCATIONS?
1.  Put your desk in any of these locations.  Put your phone or frequently used books in the left side of the desk.  Ideally the back of your chair should have a wall as "supporting mountain".
2.  Keep these locations clean and bright even if you cannot put a desk there.  Put away figurines or pictures of animals that clash your Chinese Zodiac animal sign.  For example, if ram is your birth animal sign, do not put pictures or statues of ox in these locations.
3. If you are in people-oriented business,  put up pictures or figurines of animals that combine with your birth animal sign.  For example, for a ram person, put up horse, pig, or rabbit.  One animal of each type is good enough.
4.  To enhance your authority or power, put symbols of power/ authority according to your local cultural belief.  For example, Chinese people would put seals or caldron as decorations in the power location.
5.  To enhance your career and wealth, put symbols of career and wealth according to your local cultural belief in the career location.
6.  For male, make sure NW has no toilet and SW for female.

These locations are based on Feng Shui theory.  People who have taken my "Practical Door Feng Shui for Wealth" would understand the rational behind.

Easy wealth enhancement with your living room

Note:  Below is an article that I wrote for my Feng Shui groups a few days ago.

In Feng Shui, the front yard or ming-tang (a.k.a. "bright-hall") of a house is its "wealth potential".  The bigger the ming-tang, the higher is its wealth potential.

But modern apartments have no ming-tang.  Instead, the living room is the "inner ming-tang" and also the wealth potential of its Feng Shui.

Hence, you want your inner ming-tang as big as possible, even for house with a front yard.  You also keep it clean and bright for wealth enhancement.

I have been conducting an experiment on using inner ming-tang to enhance wealth in the last few months.

I am an night owl and work in late nights when there is no interruptions.  In the past, I just turn on the lights in my work area.  The living room lights were off since no one was there.

My experiment is simple-- turn on all the living room lights while I work at night even no one is there.  Essentially, living room lights are always ON during the night when someone is awake.

Result:   Money does NOT rushing in, but coming in gradually (if I get-rich-quick using this method, I likely will not bother to write this post!) .  It does not make you rich.  But you can feel overall income increases gradually if you compare it with past statistics.  My course sales usually is low after Christmas and New Year (people have credit card bills to pay after the new year).  But this year it is much better than last year due to an influx of new students.

To save electricity with this wealth enhancement method, I use LED light bulbs which consume 10% of electricity to that of traditional tungsten light bulbs.  9W LED bulb (60W equivalent) costs US$1 each or less in USA now.  The upgrade cost will pay for itself with saving in electricity, not to mention the possible wealth enhancement bonus.

You do not need to turn on your living room light when there is no one in the house.  Feng Shui needs human presence to have effect.

House Feng Shui that makes you poor

If your financial situation gets tough and tougher and the problem is not due to your destiny or natal chart, it could possibly be the Feng Shui of your house.

Below are some possible reasons that you are poor:

1.  Main door and back door (or window) form a straight line with nothing in between
-- Wealth energy and auspicious qi flow from the main door and leave your house through the back door or window. Residents do not get any benefit.

2.  Main door faces the main door of another house
-- If the energy of your door is weaker or overcome by the opposing door, your luck will tank.

3.  Bathroom/ toilet door faces kitchen door
-- clean water of the kitchen clashing "dirty" toilet water:  bad for health and wealth luck.

4.  Living in basement for extended periods
--  "Underground" living affects the residents psychologically and emotionally.  It is bad for relationship and wealth luck

5.  Right side neighbor is much higher than your house
-- This is called "white tiger overwhelms green dragon"白虎压青龙.  White tiger stands for "mean people" and lawsuits.  This stands for sickness, bad wealth luck, backstabbing and legal problems for the residents (not to mention a overwhelming wife!). This situation also applies to a house with much bigger right side or right side has tall power tower, flyover or chimneys.

6.  Missing corner in northwest side of the house
-- Northwest side stands for career luck which affects the male residents more.  Missing corner in northeast also has similar effects.

7.  Main door facing stairway or elevator
-- This cause unstable flow of energy affecting wealth luck or causing difficulties in creating wealth.

8.  Too many doors or corridors in the living room
--  Living room is the "inner ming-tang" of the house representing wealth potential (especially for apartments).  Too many corridors or doors in the living room will leak the wealth energy or cannot accumulate qi.

9.  Cracks on the walls
-- If there are cracks in the back wall of bed or living room, this condition is equivalent to damages in "supporting mountain" and affecting wealth luck.

10.  Water tap or faucet dripping/ leaking or pointing to outside
--  Water stands for wealth in Feng Shui.  When the water tap or faucet leaks water in a house, it symbolizes leak wealth for the residents.  If the tap points to outside of house, it also implies water flowing outside the house.

Wealth Feng Shui with elephant trunk?

Believe it or not, some Feng Shui schools utilize elephant statues or figurines to enhance or "suck" in wealth.  The application is simple-- simply placing an elephant facing the door direction or at the house entrance location.  However,  the pointing direction of the elephant trunk is critical in this "elephant wealth Feng Shui".

Below are the different trunk pointing directions and applications:

Trunk pointing forward:
Symbolizes:  "Wealth absorbing elephant", to "suck in" the wealth of people walking in front of a house or shop.  However, if there is water in front of the premise, the trunk will blow wealth out of the house!
Suitable for:  Banks, financial agencies and jewelry stores.

Trunk pointing backward:
Symbolizes:  Also means"Wealth absorbing elephant", but to "suck in" the wealth of competition at the back.  This elephant usually is equipped with a pair of sharp tusks to counteract "mean people" (小人) and competitions of the same trade.
Suitable for:  Location with high concentration of the same trade, like a hi-tech store district; also as a remedy for wealth-losing/ leaking Feng Shui.

Trunk pointing upward:

Symbolizes:  "Wealth absorbing elephant", to "suck in" the wealth from the sky or heaven.
Suitable for:  Businesses that profit from the sky like airlines, astronomy and the like.  This elephant usually made with copper.




 Trunk pointing downward:

Symbolizes:  This is called "Water absorbing elephant".  Water symbolize wealth in Feng Shui.  This elephant is put in houses or stores with views of water like ponds, river, sea or ocean-- and face the water source to symbolize absorbing wealth continuously.
Suitable for:  Any business/ people, especially those making money from mother earth.

Does your house have problems accumulating wealth?

How does a house "leaks" wealth or have problems accumulating wealth?

The following are ways that a house "leaks" wealth:

1. The first thing one sees when opening the front door is the stove
2. Seeing another door or windows directly upon opening the front door  (leaking wealth)
3. Too many windows in the living room (leaking energy/ qi)
4. Too many windows in the bedroom (leaking qi, not accumulating qi)
5. Wealth position* has a sink/ water tap (leaking wealth)
6. Living room is small (indoor ming-tang, limits wealth potential) 
7. Space outside the main door is very small (limits wealth potential)
8. Tall building or mountain in front of house, creating pressure to residents
9. There is a beam over the wealth position (means working very hard for money)
10. There is a road at the back of the house  (leaking qi)
11. There is a road at the right side of the house (leaking qi/ wealth)

2016 Simple Plant Feng Shui for Prosperity

2016 Annual Chart

2016 Year of Monkey will arrive in about 2 weeks.  The info below is some simple things that you can do with inexpensive plants to enhance the energy of your home and push up your academic, career, wealth and romance luck.


Below are the locations of various Feng Shui stars in 2016 and what to do:


4-jade-wood star stands for academic performance
-- Put 4 lucky bamboo plants in the west region of your house  or office to enhance academic performance.

 

8-white-earth wealth star
-- Put a plant with wide-rounded leaves in southwest to enhance wealth luck.

 

9-purple-fire star stands for celebration and romance
--   Put flowers with bright color in the east to enhance romance luck.  Make sure replacing the withered flowers or you may attract negative romance.  Remove the thorns if you put roses here.




1-white-water represents career and fame
-- Put a plant with wide-rounded leaves in southeast to enhance career and fame luck.

Precaution:
Make sure you water the plants.  Replace or remove the plant if it withers or dies.

Activation ceremony
While this is not compulsory, it will increase your chance of getting positive results from this Feng Shui enhancement.  Simply make a small donation to your local charity or food-shelves to activate the "flow of energies".  You need to "give" something (small donation) to "get" something (luck) in exchange.
