Minimalist Feng Shui for 2018

This is a "green" article recycled from last year with updates.  If you are darn lazy, simply read the following picture and go back to your sweet dream.

No digging/ movements in regions with blue arrows:

• Region between 142.5- 217.5 degrees  (San Sha and 5-yellow locations)
• 247.5- 292.5 degrees (2-black star)-- use metal cure
• 292.5- 307.5 degrees (Grand Duke)
• 112.5- 127.5 degrees (Sui-Po or year-breaker)

"Minimalist Feng Shui"  here fixes only 2-5, 5-5, and 9-5 star combinations in regions with activities.  You don't need to put up remedies or Feng Shui monsters in all 9-palaces of your house, especially in region with no activity like storage room or guest room.

This year Sui-po (year-breaker) is in the 8-wealth star region.  Be very careful with the location where you put your water-fountain or other wealth-enhancement monsters.

You should do a good date-selection if you need to do construction in any of the above locations with blue arrow (mountains/ palace).  San-sha and 5-Yellow star share the same location this year.  Make sure you do not provoke their "anger" by digging and movements there.

People with dragon and dog zodiac signs should avoid seeing corpse being put into a coffin or burial for this year if they don't want bad luck and sickness.

Yang nobleman sign for this year is Chou (ox).  Yin nobleman is Wei (ram).

2018 Wu-xu Feng Shui year will start on February 4 @ 5:30 am.  Remember to move your Feng Shui monsters/ remedies before that time.  Do a house-cleaning/ cleansing on Feb. 3 if you have suffered misfortunes during 2017 ding-you year.

House and People Violating Grand Duke or Tai-sui

This post is based on 2015 "Grand Duke Talisman charity drive" with updates for 2017.

If you have read my old message about functions of Grand Duke, you know that there are two Grand Dukes watching over your shoulder, counting the good and bad deeds that you have done and executing rewards and misfortunes accordingly. This is a major rationale that donation to get your Grand Duke talisman.  When your talisman is grounded with a charitable deed, GD is less likely to execute any misfortunes due from your karma account. Another rationale for donation is the exchange of energy-- using a charitable deed in exchange of protection energy from Grand Duke.

For 2017, I have added the topic for house violating Grand Duke, the cure is either avoiding activities/ earth-digging or using the Grand Duke talisman in the Grand Duke location.

2017 GRAND DUKE GENERAL TANG JIE   唐杰
2017 is Ding-you or year of fire-rooster. Grand Duke for the year is General Tang Jie who was a military officer in Song Dynasty (618- 907).  Tang was born with super physical prowess.  He was humble and respected by local folks.  He had passed the government military officer exam and become a military officer.   

General Tang was ordered to stop the bandit disturbance in the South.  He had neutralized the bandit chief and decapitated 58 bandits.   Local people were no longer under the threat of plunder and killing.  The government had rewarded Tang with higher rank and silver.

丁酉太歲生於唐代安鄉〈今湖北省安鄉縣〉，名唐杰，字子文。自幼練習武藝，因而身體碩壯。更有一身特殊奇大的力量，在挑擔和舉重時表現突出。然而也受嚴格的禮教，所以待人十分謙讓，為地方人敬重；遇到有人仗力欺辱鄉民時，大家就請唐杰出來主持公道，唐杰只要出面，紛爭就自然平息下去。後來唐杰順利地在科考中考上武舉人，使他出生地大感光彩。因武舉人比一般文舉人還困難，不但要考武藝兵學，也要考基本的文科。當時，南方盜寇動亂，唐杰奉旨到南方平定寇亂，斬殺為首的賊子多人，又乘勝追殺賊寇於桃花岡，斬賊首等五十八人，立了平定賊寇的奇功，使鄉民不再被搶奪殺害。因此，朝廷賜蟒服、銀兩等給與獎勵。唐杰的功勛和德行，受到普遍的推崇。

2017  GRAND DUKE TALISMAN FOR BAZI CLASHES

Ding-you or year of  fire-rooster can be challenging for people with Gui-mao or Xin-mao pillar in their Bazi charts because these pillars "fan-yin" or "battle" with both the stem and branch of the Grand Duke.  It is especially serious if your day-pillar is  Gui-mao or Xin-mao because it means something may happen to you or your spouse.

In addition, besides the year branch, if any of the branch in your Bazi chart has a mao-rabbit, that branch is also clashing Grand Duke.  The effect may be seen from the people and events represented by that branch location.  For example, if you have a mao month branch clash, the effect may happen to daymasters' parent or sibling.

 Here are the four groups of people who need Grand Duke Talismans:
 1. "Fu-yin" or same animal sign of Grand Duke 值太岁-- people with rooster sign
ROOSTER : years born-- 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981,  1993, 2005, 2017  
Symptoms: obstacles, stagnation or running "reverse" instead of forward and not suitable for travels.  Damages in career and wealth luck and relationship.  Rooster also "self-penalizing" itself when runs into rooster year.

 2. "Fan-yin" or "clashing" the animal sign of Grand Duke 冲太岁-- people with rabbit sign
RABBIT: years born-- 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011  
Symptoms: big fluctuations in luck, wealth, career, relationship and health; traffic accident, hurt by metal object, sickness, surgery, losing competitions/wealth, moving, death,  negative romance, quarrels and etc.
SPECIAL NOTE:  Mao-you clash is a powerful clash involving wood and metal battling-- negative romance causing serious financial loss or even death or traffic accidents and surgery (injuries by metal).  If your chart has zi-rat, it will get even worse.  If your chart has both zi-rat and wu-horse, pump up your life insurance policy because you have all the 4-cardinal clashes elements-- zi, wu, mao and you.

 3. "Hai" or "prosecuting" the animal sign of Grand Duke 害太岁-- people with dog sign
DOG:  years born-- 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970,  1982, 1994, 2006  
Symptoms: backstabbing at work, bad interpersonal relationship, jealousy from others, emotional problems, success slips away in the last minute and low Feng Shui luck.

 4. "Po" or "damaging" the animal sign of Grand Duke 破太岁---- people with rat sign
RAT:  years born-- 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008
Symptoms: interpersonal relationship problems, negative romance, marital problem, backstabbing, skin and nervous system problems-- due to over-confidence and extreme/ radical positions.

 GRAND DUKE TALISMAN FOR FENG SHUI REMEDY
1.  House violating Grand Duke

In 2017 ding-you year, if your house faces You-rooster mountain or W2 (262.5 to 277.5 degree, west) direction, your house is said to be "violating Grand Duke."  House violating GD will affect the overall luck, health and well-being of the people living inside.  The remedy is either avoiding movements, construction, earth-digging and demolition there or put up a Grand Duke talisman facing W2 direction.  The opposite side of Grand Duke is Year-breaker (Sui-po, E2 or east).  This location should avoid digging and activities too. 

Even with the GD talisman, if you need to do construction, you still need to do a date-selection for an auspicious date and start digging on a non-GD direction and finish last on the GD direction.  I have checked through the year of Rooster and compiled a construction calendar with dates that can over-ride the effect of Grand Duke, San-sha and 5-yellow star.  Please look for info in this blog in the near future. 

2.  Desk violating Grand Duke 
If your desk or wherever you sit for an extended time faces You-rooster mountain or W2 direction, you can put up a Grand Duke talisman there for protection.  It is not auspicious to face the Grand Duke direction.  It weakens your competition power in business/career and examinations. However, if you arrange your seat so that W2 will be at your back (and put a Grand Duke talisman there), you will get Grand Duke as support and is good for competition and business. 

3.  Moving direction violating Grand Duke
If you move to a new house or residence, the relative direction from your old house to the new house is facing W2 grand Duke direction, you are considered "violating GD".  Remedy will be choosing an auspicious date to move or at the least, choose a different route of traveling, like driving to a different direction in the beginning, take a break for 15 minutes or more and then to the final destination.  This will convert the original GD direction to a non-GD direction. You may carry a GD talisman too. 

4.  Marriage direction violating Grand Duke
If you get married and the relative direction of your new marital residence to the old residence is facing SW2 grand Duke direction,  you are considered "violating GD".  Remedy will be choosing an auspicious date to move or at the least, choose a different route of traveling, like driving to a different direction in the beginning, take a break for 15 minutes or more and then to the final destination.  This will convert the original GD direction to a non-GD direction.  You may carry a GD talisman too.


 GRAND DUKE TALISMAN OFFERS

Time to move your Feng Shui monsters and fixes

Although the Chinese Lunar New Year won't come until Feb. 8 for this year, new Feng Shui year officially starts today (Feb. 4, Li-Chun or Spring begins).  Now is the time to move your Feng Shui monsters like ki-lin (move to south to fix San-sha or 3-killings), 5-yellow metal fix (move to NE) and other remedies.

If you do not have a ki-lin or cannot afford one, you can print out the ki-lin picture here.

The picture below is a rare Chinese New Year poster from a few hundred years ago.  It has accumulated tons of mass consciousness about wealth and celebrations.  You may print it out and put it in SW (annual wealth star location) for good luck.

Minimal Feng Shui Guide for 2015 year of Wood Ram

Yi-wei or year of Wood Ram will start in a few weeks.  You may want to fix the regions that will become "dangerous" to fix or dig after Feb.3, 2015 now.

This year I make things "visual" by putting the locations of Grand Duke, Sui Po and San Sha directly on the 24 mountains template with the annual star chart for the Year of Ram.

Annual chart is based on Purple White Method which holds that 1, 6, 8 and 9-star locations are auspicious. 2-black sickness and 5-yellow disaster star locations are inauspicious.  Therefore, for current year, Southeast sector with 2-black sickness star is the second inauspicious.  West sector with 5-yellow disaster star is the most inauspicious, especially one of the San Sha is also there.  

Tai Sui or Grand Duke sits on Wei mountain or SW1 and Sui Po or Year Breaker in Chou mountain or NE1.  You definitely do not want movements and especially "moving earth" (digging or construction) in these regions.  

If the annual star chart of your house has 2-sickness star in the SE, you need to put metal or coin-solution cure there, especially if you have a door there. Same scenario and remedies and precautions if you have a 5-yellow disaster star in the west sector of your house. 

"Minimal Feng Shui" is to fix only 2-5, 5-5, and 9-5 star combinations in regions with activities. Also keep these areas clean and no piles of clutters or garbage (because this becomes the "form" to activate the bad stars).  You don't need to put up remedies or Feng Shui monsters in all 9-palaces of your house, especially in region of no activity like storage room and guest room.  

OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
Grand Duke is at Wei mountain (SW1) -- minimize movements and avoid construction or digging. If your house is facing Wei mountain , your house is said to be "Chong" or clashing Grand Duke. You may want to put a Grand Duke Talisman there for protection or at least minimize movements there. It will help your competitive power if you sit with your back facing Grand Duke (but NOT yourself facing GD!)

Sui Po or year-breaker is at Chou mountain (NE1)-- avoid construction or digging.

San Sha or 3-killings are at Shen (SW3), You (W2) and Xu (NW1) mountains -- avoid construction or digging.  You may face San Sha locations but not sit on these locations with your back facing them.

5-yellow disaster star at Dui palace (W)- avoid construction or digging and movements. San Sha sits in Dui palace with 5-yellow-- definitely be very careful when you do constructions and movement here!

Yang nobleman sign for this year is Shen (monkey).  Yin nobleman is Zi (rat).

You need to do a good date-selection if you need to do construction in any of the above locations (mountains/ palace) or better doing it before end of the current year (horse year).

People with ox and ram zodiac sign should avoid seeing putting corpse in coffin or burial for this year.
