Can a cat override bad Feng Shui?

This is an amazing story about a stray cat and the firemen of a small fire station in an Asian city.

This small fire station has less than 10 firemen and is located at the edge of a cliff.  The back of the station is on the steep side of the cliff and hence it has  no "support mountain".  The front of the station faces a vertical boulder and a semi-circular road or "sickle sha" (in Feng Shui terms) cutting into the main entrance.  The layout of the building is like a stretched "U" with the right-hand side longer than the left side.

Feng Shui predictions for people of this station are:  major accident or injury happens at least once every 3- 6 years to member of  certain Chinese zodiac animal signs, high turnover, scandals, and bickering.

In reality,  people consider stationing in here is a "plum job" , like taking a vacation while working.  Working life here is peaceful and enjoyable.

The unusual feature of this fire station is that it has adopted a stray cat Mary despite the local belief that adopting a stray cat is inauspicious to one's wealth luck.

Firemen here do not know when this cat was adopted due to routine job rotations in the Fire Department.  They only know Mary was adopted over 10+ years ago.  So Mary should be 12- 14 years old or is equivalent to 70+ years old in human terms.

Everyone treats Mary as if she is the patron saint of the fire station.  They believe Mary protects them from major mishaps.  Even when a new boss takes over the station at regular intervals, he dares not remove Mary because the firemen may feel insecure.

Mary is the famous feline within the local fire department.

A few years ago, Mary was hit by a car and suffered massive injuries.  The firemen in the station believe that she took the "hit" for them.  They had raised about US$2000 among themselves for Mary's surgery.

When I saw Mary in this fire station, I put my hand over her head and felt her energy.  She looks like an earth-god or nymph or mountain god to me.

Does this cat override the bad Feng Shui of this fire station?  My answer can be "yes" and "no".  "Yes" because this cat may have supernatural power.  "No" because it is not really about the cat's power, whether supernatural or not.  It is about the kindness of the firemen adopting this stray cat and treat it like a god.  This collective kindness generates a huge positive energy that shields the firemen from negative Feng Shui energy. 

What can you learn from this story?  Go to the "death row" of your local animal humane society and adopt a cat or dog. Death row cats or dogs are the one that no one wants to adopt due to their old age or physical characteristics.  This type of adoption is as good as saving a life and will  generate more positive energy around you.   This positive energy will shield you from misfortunes.

"Can metaphysicians make immense wealth?" Part 2

"Can metaphysicians make immense wealth?"  It is tempting for me to give you a definite "YES" answer.  So that you will send me your hard-earned money to buy my metaphysics courses or  invest the money for you. 

On the other hand, smart reader like you may ask, "If you can make immense wealth with metaphysics, why bother making peanuts to sell me courses or service?"

My opinion on this question would be:  Metaphysics like Feng Shui, Bazi, QMDJ, and the likes can help you improve your chances of making wealth WITHIN the confines of your destiny.  For example, if Bazi or 4-Pillar method says John Doe's lifetime wealth potential is $1 million, it does not mean John will get $1M.  He may get only $500- 600k.  With Feng Shui techniques to enhance the wealth position of his home, he may get more.  With 4P techniques, he may get a little more.  But John has little chance of getting more than his lifetime limit of $1M.

In Chinese metaphysics, we differentiate between "shù" (術)  and "shù" (數).  "Shù" (術) refers to magic and supernatural methods involving spirits, deities and/or religious belief.  "Shù" (數) refers to methods based on formula and calculations. 

I had done some casino experiments using both magic and formula aspects of metaphysics.  Using Qi-Men-Dun-Jia method, it is easy to win in the initial hour entering the casino but not afterward. You need to "recharge" your qi or energy using QMDJ again to stay "alive".  Using 4P alone, your chance of winning is bigger if you choose a day that is your wealth element.  You chance of winning is also higher if you sit at your wealth direction.  However, we found that if your 4P chart has no wealth element, it becomes very difficult to make you win anything.   We also have some other 4P methods to enhance your odds of winning in our "Destiny and Luck Management" courses.

I had also tried using magic and psychic power with a few students in a native American ran casino.  The casino is protected by strong energy and all we could do was just extending the play time but lost the bet eventually.  Another test in an Asian casino was even worse.  The place is protected by spirits that warned us to get the hell out of the casino. We had "cross-over" their territory.

How about using metaphysics to do stock trades or FOREX?   I have not done that myself, but I have seen my students doing it.  They all do very well doing dry runs or using practice accounts.  However, most lost their shirts when doing the trades with real money.  I guess the "luck" factor kicks in when real money is used.

Money probably affects the trajectories of destiny more than anything else.  So the Universe (or god) is unlikely to grant your wish of immense wealth easily-- even if you use metaphysics.

On the other hand, small requests that do not affect the paths of destiny much -- like stopping rain/snow for an hour, a free dinner or a few dollars, are easily done (or granted by deities) with metaphysics.  Even I can do it sometimes.

"Can metaphysicians make immense wealth?" Part 1

"Can metaphysicians make immense wealth?" (玄學家可以賺大錢嗎？)is the question raised by Kang-zi, author of Hong Kong's Headline News (in Chinese).

Kang wrote that if metaphysicians were good at their trade of predicting the future, they should have made immense wealth in betting/ gambling, stocks and commodity markets.

But the reality tells another story.  Rich and famous metaphysicians are rare in both west and eastern societies.

A few famous Feng Shui masters, Iron-plate specialist and other metaphysicians that Kang knows had claimed to be "Stock God" (股神)-- only resulted in losing big in the financial market despite their metaphysicial prowess.

"Why did they lose their shirts?" asked Kang.

The common explanation for lack of "rich" metaphysicians is the "divine punishment theory".  The "price" to practice metaphysics is to be poor or "not rich" for "leaking heaven's secrets" and changing people's destiny.  

But Kang does not buy this "divine punishment theory".  He argues that  metaphysicians are not the only ones changing people's destiny, so are doctors, police, firemen, and the like.  Should these people be poor too?

Kang believes there are metaphysicians who have made it big or lost big.  The ones who make it big just keep quiet to avoid taxation or loan-seekers.  Personal attitude, according to Kang, accounts for up to 70% relevance on whether one will strike it rich or not.

Kang turns to fatalism  for explanation.  He argues that if one has fame and wealth luck, one will be rich and famous regardless what s/he does.  In addition, the personality make-up of metaphysicians is always antagonistic to the personality attributes necessarily to make it big in wealth and fame.    

"Ken, what's your take on this topic?"

Eat your way to prosperity?

Grand Duke Remedy for Year 2011

The Year of  Rabbit will start on Spring Solstice (Li-chun) or Feb. 4.  According to Chinese custom, a new ruler of the year, or Grand Duke (Tai-sui) will come for each year. For 2011 or Xin-mao (metal-rabbit) year, the Grand Duke is General Fan Ning.

For 2011, Grand Duke sits on Mao mountain or the East (E2). If your house faces E2, it is considered "clashing Grand Duke". The residents may face accidents, obstacles or losing wealth. The cure is minimizing movements in the facing and put a Grand Duke talisman (see samples here) facing E2.

On the other hand, if your house sits on Mao mountain, it is considered having the support of Grand Duke. The tenants will do better in business ventures and competition. Historically speaking, countries at war with Grand Duke at their back are likely to win. But if your house or office does not sit on Mao mountain, you may use a Grand Duke Talisman at your back side as support (not recommended for people clashing GD for the current year).

In terms of individuals, people who have something to do with current year's Grand Duke are generally considered "violating Grand Duke". This "violation" can be distinguished in 3 ways:

1. People who have the same animal sign as the Grand Duke are considered "on duty" or "zhi 植" with Grand Duke. For 2011 , people who were born in rabbit years (1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999) are "on duty" with Grand Duke. The symptoms will be minor sickness, emotionally imbalanced and minor misfortunes.

2. People whose animal sign clashes the Grand Duke are "chong" or clash Grand Duke. For 2010, people with rooster animal sign (born 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993) are clashing Grand Duke for the year. This is the most serious Grand Duke violation that may cause:
-- career changes (promotion or demotion)
-- moving
-- frequent travels
-- major monetary losses or bankruptcy
-- death in the family
-- major sickness/ surgery
-- accident or death

3. People who have animal sign that "penalizes" Grand Duke. For 2011, people who have rat (zi) animal sign (born 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996) penalize Grand Duke. Normally, penalizing is less severe than clashing Grand Duke. However, zi-mao penalty is one of the infamous "Three Penalties"in Bazi or 4-Pillars of Destiny.  This becomes more a Bazi problem than Grand Duke violation.  Zi-mao penalty normally jinxes the close relatives of the person involved.

One way to cure Grand Duke violation is to carry the Grand Duke talisman shown here. However, a mere reproduction of this talisman does not have the divine energy to fix the problem. A talisman needs to be "activated" or "benedicted" by a Daoist teacher or priest to be effective. A benediction alone easily costs US$60.
