"Travelling horse" is a symbolic star employed extensively in Chinese metaphysics systems like Bazi, QMDJ, date-selection and the likes.  Generally speaking, it means action, movement, acceleration, travelling, leaving town and etc..

TRAVELLING HORSE STAR CALCUATION

1. Birth year or day branch has shen, zi or chen, travelling horse is yin.
2. Birth year  or day branch has yin, wu or xu, travelling horse is shen.
3. Birth year  or day branch has hai, mao or wei, travelling horse is si.
4. Birth year or day branch has si, you or chou, travelling horse is hai.

For example, if you were born in the year of monkey (shen) and your chart has a yin branch or luck period brings a yin, you have a travelling horse. If your day branch has a mao, and your chart has a si branch or luck period brings a si, you have a travelling horse.

6. married couple or partners live separately in two different regions or the couple is from different regions
7. wealth, sudden windfall, unexpected wealth
8. Yin, shen, si and hai are the four travelling stars.  If a person has 2+ of these 4 stars in his/her natal chart, s/he cannot sit still and could be a good salesperson.

Meanings of "Travelling Horse" 驿马神煞解

"Travelling horse" is a symbolic star or shen-sha in Bazi reading, date-selection, QMDJ and many other Chinese metaphysics systems.  In Bazi, it is based on the birth year or day of one's natal chart.  

If a person was born in:

• shen, zi or chen year/ day:  travelling horse is yin-tiger
• yin, wu or xu year/ day:  travelling horse is shen-monkey
• hai, mao or wei year/ day:  travelling horse is si-snake
• si, you or chou year/ day:  travelling horse is hai-pig

MEANINGS OF TRAVELLING HORSE IN A CHART

1.  Chart with 2+ travelling horses: This person is likely leaving hometown or country to make a living.

2.  During his/ her travelling horse year, this person will be hectic or toiling to make ends meet.

3. "Travelling horse galloping in wealth region":  If by chance the travelling horse is also the wealth star of this chart and running into travelling horse luck period or staying in the horse direction-- this person may make major wealth during this luck period.

4. Travelling horse with "peach blossom":  If by chance the travelling horse is also the peach blossom star of this chart, it means this person is likely unfaithful in relationship with unstable marriage.

5. Travelling horse with zheng-guan (+power):  If by chance the travelling horse is also the zheng-guan (+power) star of this chart, it means this person is likely be a reputable government official working outside his hometown.

6. Travelling horse with qi-sha (-power):  If by chance the travelling horse is also the qi-sha (-power) star of this chart, it means this person is likely a monk, priest or Mafia type person.

When to fire your boss or change job

"When will I change job,  get a promotion, get a raise" and the likes are popular questions during a Bazi reading.  People have never asked me when they get a demotion or salary cut.

Today is your lucky day, below are the secrets of career and income changes.

You may have career and income changes when:

1.  Annual luck or 10-years-luck period clash or combine with the power star (Zheng-guan/qi-sha) in your Bazi chart:  +Power star stands for your current stable job and -power for unsteady job.  If power star is favorable to your chart, it implies the change is in the negative direction like demotion, salary decrease or harsh working environment.  If power star is unfavorable, it implies the change is in the positive direction like promotion, salary increase or improvements in working environment.

2.  Annual luck or 10-years-luck period clash or combine the resource star (Zheng-yin/pian-yin) in your Bazi chart:   Resource star stands documents, rights, order, official seal (authority) and the like.  In short, it stands for authority based on a position.   When resource star is clashed or combined, it means changes in your job or career.  If resource star is favorable to your chart, it implies demotion, salary decrease or work pressure due to job changes.  If resource star is unfavorable, it means promotion, salary increases or better work conditions due to the changes.

3.  Traveling horse star is clashed or combined by luck period/s or luck period/s bring in traveling horse star:  This implies your living environment is changed.  Traveling horse star represents mobility and usually associated with relocation.  Traveling horse stars are: yin, shen, si and hai.  If traveling star is favorable to your chart, you are likely to leave hometown for wealth and make it big (hence dislikes clashing or combination).  If unfavorable, you work hard and hectically for money.

Bazi: Predicting Career or Job Changes

In modern age, few people stay in one job or company for life.  Most of us would change careers, jump to another company, getting promoted/ fired/ relocation or start our own business.  One may want to predict when such change is likely to happen-- consult your own Bazi chart and luck period.

Below are what to check for career changes in one's Bazi chart:

Year that -power star (qi-sha) shows up:  +power (zheng-guan) stands for stable job.  -power stands for innovation, new career, new plan or new business.  Hence annual luck that brings -power usually signifies changes in one's career.

Year that +power star (zheng-guan) combines with daymaster:  Examples are: yi-DM with geng power star; ding-DM with ren, ji-DM with jia.  When a luck period brings a +power star,  it usually has something to do with career, especially if power star is favorable to the chart.  When power star combines with DM, it is likely related to promotion or new opportunities.

Year when power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha) is clashed or combined:  Power stars represent work, position, duties and etc. Interactions with power star usually signifies changes in one's career.  If luck period has interaction with the power stars in natal chart, it will also brings changes in one's career.  If the interaction is from 10-year luck period, it means these changes could last for 10 years (or means frequent changes).

Year when resource star (zheng-yin/ pian-yin) is clashed or combined:  Resource stars represent contracts, documents, regulation, power, order and etc.  It also represents living and working environment.  Hence when annual luck clashes or combines with resource star, will likely prompt changes in career, including relocation of residence.  If annual luck creates "power and resource mutual nurturing 官印相生", DM is likely to have promotion. If the interaction is from 10-year luck period, it means these changes could last for 10 years (or means frequent changes).

Year with strong +output (shang-guan):  Strong +output will make DM think of changes and likely feel dissatisfied with current career or  cause disharmony in interpersonal relationship.  This could result in changing career due to DM's state of mind or simply pissing off the boss (and get fired).

Year with "traveling horse star":   "Traveling horse star" refers to the propensity to travel or moving (check below for details).  When annual luck brings a traveling horse star, DM is likely have changes in career.  If the star is from 10-year luck period, it means DM is prone to career changes or relocation in this 10 years.  Below is how to calculate your traveling horse star:

• year or day branch is yin, wu or xu, your traveling horse is shen
• year or day branch is si, you or chou, your traveling horse is hai
• year or day branch is hai, mao or wei, your traveling horse is si

Note for females:  Power stars mean husband or lover for female. So when power star is clashed, combined or showing up in your chart,  besides career changes, it could also mean something happens in your relationship department-- marriage, divorce, separation, lover, mistress and etc.

Bazi: how to check career changes

How to check career or occupational change from one's Bazi or 4P chart?  Please check below for details:

1.  When power star (zheng-guan, pian-guan or qi-sha) is clashed, combined or controlled ("ke").
-- "Power" stars are what control the daymaster (DM).  For example, the power star of someone born in an earth day will be wood.  Power star stands for authority and career.  It signifies changes in career when power star has interaction with luck periods.

2.  When resource star (zheng-yin, pian-yin) is clashed, combined or controlled ("ke").
-- "Resource" stars are what nurture the daymaster (DM).  For example, the resource star of someone born in an earth day is fire.  Resources stars stand for documents, study, transfer, certificate, rights/ privilege and superior.  When resource star has interaction with luck period, it implies changes in authority, transfer, and events related to older generation/ superior.

3.  When "traveling horse" star (yin-tiger, shen-monkey, si-snake, hai-pig) shows up in luck periods.
--Traveling horse stars stand for mobility and movement.  When traveling horse star shows up in one's luck period, it implies changes in living and working environment.  Below is how to find your traveling horse star.
