4-Pillar Reading of the latest Octuplets

A woman in California has given birth to octuplets in the first day of the Chinese New Year:

How do you read the 4P of octuplets? Will all the babies have the samefortune and luck?

No 4P classic has mentioned even how to handle triplets. There are simpleways to handle twins 4P. But 8...?

Anyway, I ran the 4P charts of the octuplets. You may notice the year branch is still zi or mouse. The solar new year will arrive at Feb. 4th as usual. Quality of the charts are on the borderline of below average. The kids may jinx the parents, especially the father. Their luck is below average in their middle ages. Girls' teen luck is better than the boys.

ACTUAL 4P CHART OF THE OCTUPLETS

YEAR: wu-zi (earth-water)

If their mother had consulted a 4P reader and pushed the delivery time by 9 hours (xu instead of si hour), the luck will be much much better for her kids.

What if the hospital cannot mobilize 46 workers after 7pm (xu hour)? No problem-- if the mother can delay the births by 3 days to Jan. 29 at the same si hour, the kids' luck will also be much better and no jinx to parents.

It's fate-- that could possibly be changed if the mother has some 4-pillars knowledge.

Year-end House-cleaning & Luck

Hi Pals,

Chinese New Year will come eariler this year on Jan. 26th. If the Mouse Year is not good or really "suck" for you, you may want to do some house-cleaning on the 25th.

Besides cleaning away the clutter and garbage, you may want to open all the windows, cupboards and drawers, to let the old-qi or energy go away. Turn on your fan to blow the old or stagnant qi out of your house for about half an hour. You may want to burn some incense or spray your house with lavender scent after the cleaning.

BUT, if the year is great for you, do NOT blow the qi away! You want to keep the good qi for an extended ride.

This cleansing trick can be easily adapted to do a major Feng Shui magic.... Students who have taken my Feng Shui class should figure that out. Many metaphysics techniques use similar principles.

Grand Duke, 4-Pillars and Feng Shui

Year of Ox is approaching and there will be a new Grand Duke taking over the year.

Grand Duke (GD) is a Daoist creation about an annual deity who controls the human affairs for the year (like the annual luck concept in 4P). There are 60 binomials (jia-zi) in the 60-years cycle of the Chinese calendar, so there are 60 distinct GDs taking turns to "rule" the human world.

These GDs are Chinese historical figures who were righteous, pious and loyal to their country. Most are from the Ming Dynasty (around 1600's), so we know the personification of GD started around that time.

There are many ways to "violate" GD,depending on one's Chinese zodiac animal sign. These ways are based on the rules governing the interactions between the earthly branches or animals signs-- the same rules used in 4-Pillars of Destiny.

Here are some comparisons:

* 4P: "Fu-yin"-- when the branches from two pillars are the same; can be positive or negative (depending on the elemental nature of the fu-yin)

* GD: "Zhi GD"-- when the animal sign of the year is same as yours; normally means obstacles or obstructions in life.

* WHO ARE "ZHI GD" FOR THE YEAR OF OX?

People who were born in 1913,1925,1937,1949,1961,1973,1985,1997

* 4P: "Fan-yin"-- when the branches from two pillars are the antagonistic to each other, e.g. chou vs wei (ox vs. ram); normally negative

* GD: "clash GD"-- same as above, when your animal sign is antagonistic to GD's; normally means bad luck, sickness or accidents. This is the most severe GD violation.

* WHO ARE "CLASHING GD" FOR THE YEAR OF OX?

People who were born in 1919,1931,1943,1955,1967,1979,1991,2003

* 4P: "Penalty"-- when the branches from two pillars are from one of the 3-penalities combinations, e.g. mouse and rabbit, ox and dog, ram and dog, tiger and snake, snake and monkey, etc; normally negative and affecting close relatives of the person involved

* GD: "Penalize GD"-- same as above, when your animal sign "penalizes" GD's; normally means accidents, legal problems and injuries.

* WHO ARE "PENALIZING GD" FOR THE YEAR OF OX?

People who were born in 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

* 4P: Break or "Po"-- when the branches from two pillars are from one of the following combinations: mouse/rooster, tiger/pig, dragon/ox, snake/monkey, horse/rabbit, ram/dog; "Po" stands for damage and breaking away; this is relative minor event

* GD: "Po GD"-- same as above animal sign combinations; relatively minor offense

* WHO ARE "PO GD" FOR THE YEAR OF OX?

People who were born in 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000

* 4P: Harm or "Hai"-- when a branch stops the combination parnter of another branch; e.g.: wei (ram) "harms" zi (mouse combines with ox); "harm" stands for disharmony and hurting. It's effects are not significant

* GD: "Hai GD"-- same as above; relatively minor offense

* WHO ARE "HAI GD" FOR THE YEAR OF OX?

People who were born in 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002

In Feng Shui, if GD is at the facing of your house or office, it will mean difficulty or problems for the year. You should NOT do construction on GD's direction either UNLESS you take the appropriate precautions and rituals. For year of Ox, Chou mountain is at NE-N (around 22.5 to 37.5 degree).

You can sit with GD at your back, but not in front of you. Supposely in a war, the side with GD at their back will likely win.

There are rituals for "appeasing" GD which are popular in Hong Kong and China.

There are also 4P fixes for clashing GD. For example, you may carry a Mickey Mouse figure or a rooster to combine away the GD Chou.

There are also secret Daoist rituals that make GD your good friend and help you in business and health matters and overcome danger. But that can be another course in itself!

Feng Shui remedies for 2009 Year of Ox

This intends to be a straight forward “just do it” Feng Shui guide for 2009 with little or no explanation.

NOTE: The “annual sha” of San Sha (3-killings) is here (in Chen mountain) and the vicious “5-tiger sha” is in Xun mountain.

PUT: a bowl of stationary water or water-based plant
AVOID: major electric appliance or moving water
NOTE: The “disaster sha” of San Sha (3-killings) is here (in Mao mountain)

The Chinese characters of "Human" and "Fire"

Traditionally the Chinese character of "Fire" (火, huo) is represented by the ideogram or picture of a flame (see diagram). A visit to the Hong Kong History Museum has changed my mind about that.

There is an exhibit about prehistoric human activities in Hong Kong. It shows an early man creating fire with two flintstones.

The Chinese character 火 (fire) consists of two parts: the human (人) and the two strokes components, which can be the abstraction of two flintstones.
A man (人, ren or human) with two flintstones-- that is the image of the Chinese character "fire"!

"Crystal Ox" Gazing

I am running around China and Hong Kong in the last few weeks. In Hong Kong, I see over 20 "2009 Year of Ox" fortune-telling books. Most are simply based on the 12 Chinese zodiac animals to "predict" the 2009 luck of people, though some use Immortal Wong Tai Sin, QMDJ and Plum-Flower.

Publishers of these 2009 fortune-telling books always try to be the first ones in the market to grab the market share. Those who had published before the sub-prime mortgage crisis are likely to predict "business as usual" like the global economy will be great. The ones that are published after the financial crisis is exposed are likely to predict the economy will not be "optimistic" or "challenging".

It is interesting to see most writers of these fortune-telling books will "review" and brag about their 2008 predictions. They simply ignore what they had missed and just focused on the "hits". Everyone makes tons of predictions and some will "hit" the target for sure. Very often, predictions are phrased in vague terms like "not optimistic" or "challenging", it can always be treated as a "hit" no matter what has happened.

Today is your lucky day, you can publish your own "2010 Fortune Book" with the following tips about how the predictions are made:
1. based on stars of annual or Purple White chart
2. making interpretations based on the jia-zi (binomial) of the year. For example, 2009 is ji-chou or earth-ox year. One can tell a long story based on this jia-zi.
3. based on the animal nature of the year (e.g. 2008 is year of rat, some writers will make a big fuss out of the rat's nature)
4. based on shen-sha like Grand Duke, San-sha (3-killings) and the like
5. based on the writer's own divination using Plum Flower, Yi-Jing and the like
6. based on astrological stars
7. based on QMDJ charts
8. simply based on the gut-feeling of the writer!

You may use a combinations or all of the above to write your 2010 Fortune book. Send me 10% royalty if you can! All proceed will go to charity.

When not to hire a Feng Shui Master

My previous message, "Grandma's Tou-Fu Dessert" is an example of personal luck overtakes the importance of Feng Shui.

In other words, when your luck is high (above average), you do not need a Feng Shui master to choose a site or house for you. You may throw a stone randomly and follow the landing direction of the stone and locate a property.

How do you know your luck is high or low? It is much easier to tell that your luck is low-- shortage of money, running into obstacles all the time, relationship problems, sickness, accidents or even death. If this were the case, you defintely need a Feng Shui master to help you. But chances are, you may pick a lousy master that makes your Feng Shui worse than before soliciting his/ her help. So you need to find someone who is proven and not just "famous".

When everything goes your way, money is not a problem for you, good health and you look forward to live your next day, you probably are in "above average" luck. You may pretty much close your eyes and pick a property and still enjoy good Feng Shui.

When you feel life is boring (or have time to think that your life is boring), it means you have a stable life and NOT in bad luck.

Very often people think their good luck will last forever. The lucky ones may have 10- 20 years of continuous good luck. Most will have short periods of 1 to 2 years good luck. It is difficult to achieve anything significant with short luck duration (as in annual lucks). You need at least one good 10-year luck to prosper. In Bazi or 4-Pillars, everyone shares the same annual luck but not 10-year lucks. 10-year lucks are determined by one's birth day and birth hour.

In Asia, it is common that a Feng Shui practitioner also knows Bazi reading. It is a routine to read the Bazi of a potential client before taking up a Feng Shui job. A practioner with integrity may turn down a FS assignment if he/she finds client's problem is due to destiny and not FS.
