4-Pillars Perspective on Mate-selection

The following is a common 4-Pillars question on marriage:

"According to 4 Pillars, can a person ( male ) born inthe year of Ox marry a person ( female ) born in the year ofsheep, even though there is a direct clash ? I have observedseveral such cases wherein such married couple get alongvery well with each other !"

Chou (ox) and Wei (sheep) are basically the same--- earth, so clashes between the two are not that antagonistic like monkey (shen-metal) clashing tiger (yin-wood).

Also Chou is "metal storage" and Wei is "wood storage". If a person or DM needs such storage, it will work well with a spouse who brings it to the pot.

I also found, in some rare cases, a person's clashing animal sign may also be the "nobleman" of the person.

Besides, animal clash is only part of the equation. You still have to look at the day pillars between the potential couple-- to see if there are clashes or combinations. You prefer combinations in this case. It means attraction and getting along between the two. Clashes mean fighting.

Then come to the most important part-- (contents are posted in "4P Bootcamp" discussion list).

This 4P principle on mate-selection can also be applied to business partner selection and hiring of employees or looking for your "helpful people".

Here is the priority list for formation (frame), combination, penalty and clashes (chong). Please save the list for your future reference:

1. 4-clashes, as in zi-wu-mao-you ("chong")

2. 3-meeting formation ("hui", frame, like yin-mao-chen wood meeting)

3. 3-unity combinations ("he", e.g. shen-zi-chen water combination)

4. 3-penalty ("xing")

5. 6-mutual clash, e.g. wei vs. chou (chong)

6. semi- 3-unity combination, like zi-chen semi water combination ("he")

7. mutual penalty ("xing")

8. 6-combinations ("he")

9. 6-harm ("hai")

10. break ("po")

Special 4P chart of Master Guan Gong

Master Guan Gong (or Kwan) is a very popular deity in Chinese culture. If you go to Chinatown, Hong Kong, Taiwan or China, it is not difficult to see small altars with a statue of a red-faced guy-- that is Master Guan.

Master Guan's altar normally is placed facing the door, so he will ward off any evil spirits coming into the family or business. Chinese also treat Master Guan as a "wealth god".

Master Guan is more known for his extreme loyalty to his leader.  In Chinese societies, he is also the patron god for BOTH the police AND Chinese Mafia or underworld, because loyalty to the unit or gang is important to these people.

I always wonder which side will Master Guan take when the Chinese Mafia is dueling with the police.

Now comes the real objective of this msg.-- to see Master Guan's unique 4P:

Year: wu-wu (earth-fire)                                                                                         Month: wu-wu (earth-fire)

10-year luck periods
ji-wei (earth-earth)

This is an extreme strong profile that prefers "same gang" elements from luck pillars and dislikes wealth luck.

When he was defeated and killed in battle, ren-water was subdued by 4 wu-earths and zi-water clashed 4 wu-fires. All 4 stems and branches were shaken to the core.

DOUBLE-TALK IN 3-PENALTIES- Final Episode

Note: The following blog was written in May 21, 2005


A few weeks ago, I have talked about "4P Penalty" and
ended with a trick song to remember 7 penalty
formula: Here is the trick song:

"A chick with a PhD tries to teach a mentally retarded
dog to play SM with a tiger."

You may search the list archive for "4P Penalty No
More" to decode it. Today, I'll wrap up this 4P
penalty series by discussing 3-penalties. To refresh
your memory, here are the "3-penalities":

3-PENALTIES GROUP
Zi - mao (Mouse - Rabbit)
Si - shen - yin (Snake-Monkey-Tiger)
Xu - chou - wei (Dog-Ox-Goat)

Ordinary people, when hearing the words, "You have a
3-penalties coming!", will scare the daylight out of
them. One penalty is already chilling to them and now
comes three! So the natural responses may be, "4P
master, do you have any method to neutralize it?"

To some less than decent 4P readers, 3-penalties are
their tickets to more businesses. They will offer
"methods" to minimize 3-penalties and sometimes even
manage to sneak in a FS audit job.

If you are a 4P reader, you will always win with
3-penalties. You can tell your client that he may
become rich and famous IF he is a gentleman or lose
his shirt if he is a scumbag. Most people will think
that they are gentlemen. If misfortune happens, then
they think, "Probably I'm not a gentleman after all."
If they become rich and famous, they will think, "Gee,
4P Ken is really something, predicted my good
fortune."

When a "righteous person" or gentleman encounters
3-penalties, it is likely that he will meet the
emperor or president. There is a saying in 4P
formula book, "Gentleman must encounter penalty to
become prosperous."

So what if you are not a gentleman or righteous
person? Most people probably fit into this category.
Classics do not give specific answer to this question.
So it probably no major positive or negative event
will happen.

However, if you were a scumbag or "little person",
then your life will be miserable when encountering
3-penalties: accidents, surgery and losing big
wealth.

According to some 4P classics, 3-penalities are not
totally negative. In fact, some classics said if you
see someone suddenly becomes incredibly rich and
famous, it is likely that his/her chart has
"encountered 3-penalties" (meaning luck pillar/s form
3-penalties with 4P chart).

I know you want to get a "3-penalties" now. But how
do you know you are a "gentleman" and not a scumbag?

3-penalties resulted from annual luck has more
damaging power than 6-clashes.

Some military leaders also tend to have 3-penalties in
their charts.
