Bazi: "Liu Hai" or "6-harms" secrets 六害

Today is your lucky day!  You will find the rarely published secrets of "6-harms 六害" (or "6-prosecutions").

"6-harms" are derived from "6-combinations".  "Harm" happens when a branch A stops another branch B from combining with branch C.  For example, Wei combines with Wu.  Zi clashes Wu.  Zi is considered "harming" Wei.  In short, "harm" stops the union of 2 other elements.

There are six pairs of "harms".  Below are the pairs and its corresponding "symptoms": 

1. Yin and Si (tiger-snake)--  chronic illness to DM, esp. if chart is strong in metal
2. Mao and Chen (rabbit-dragon)--  lack patience/ endurance, get angry easily if the daymaster (DM) is strong, if weak, may have disability
3. Wu and Chou (ox-horse)-- same as rabbit-dragon
4. Zi and Wei (rat-ram)--  jinxing children
5. Shen and Hai (monkey-pig)-- chronic illness to DM, especially if chart is strong in metal.
6. You and Xu (rooster-dog)--  face is easy to have pimples
7. Month branch "harm"--  lonely life, especially for female
8. Day/ hour pillar "harm"--  beware of injury/ disability during old age

The above 6 pairs of animals are also used for mate-selection--- avoid these "6-harms" animal pairs or the couples are likely living in disharmony (Chinese poem below listing undesirable animal pairs for marriage)

白馬怕金牛，羊鼠一旦休。

蛇虎如刀錯，免龍淚交流。

金雞怕玉犬，豬猴不到頭。

Classic Bazi texts do not give much coverage or importance to 6-harms.  They consider it is less powerful than 6-clashes.  Some schools even treat it as almost nothing to worry about.  However, we found that under certain conditions, 6-harms could cause serious damages than 6-clashes. 

 If the "harm" is within the natal chart, it usually related to DM and his/ her close relatives.

"Harm" comes from luck period can sometimes be worse than clash.  Many people who are sentenced to death are usually have "yang-knife" meets "harm" (from luck period).  So be careful with there is a "harm" element coming from luck period.

Generally speaking, DM with with "harm" in natal chart, usually lives a lonely life, separated from his/ her children and has shortage of money, especially for females.

A "harm" is positive when a combination is unfavorable.  Conversely speaking, a "harm" can cause serious problem when a combination is favorable.  The effect of a "harm" must be examined with the whole natal chart with luck periods to determine its overall effect.
