Secrets of changing "house period" or "Heaven's Heart"

Below is an excerpt from the chapter on "Secrets of changing 'house period' or 'Heaven's Heart'" of the upcoming new course "Period 8-9-1 Feng Shui Period Upgrade and Property Purchasing Bible".

IMPORTANCE OF "PERIOD"

The time dimension of some Feng Shui schools, especially those under the San Yuan banners, follows the 180 years cycle (divided into 3 Yuans/ 9 Periods).  San Yuans mean three 60 years cycles with Upper, Middle and Lower Yuan.  Each Yuan is sub-divided into 3 periods of 20 years each.  Currently (2020, when this chapter is written) we are under the Period 8 of Lower Yuan which will end in 4 years.  This period changing issue becomes critical if someone plan to buy a property before 2024.  Any new property buyer may NOT want his or her property becomes "not Feng Shui timely or auspicious" after 2024 when Period 9 arrives.

Most schools would pay varies degree of attention to the concept of "period"-- the period when the house was constructed or when the residents moved into the house.  Flying Star Feng Shui pays most attention to the period idea because it will determine the quality of the house chart.

"Period" is important because it determines which star is "timely" or auspicious.  For example, in Period 8, the 8-white earth star is "timely" and 9-purple star is "future timely" or second auspicious.  Flying Star Feng Shui prefers having the "timely" water star in the facing and "timely" mountain star in the sitting (followed by the "future timely").

Assuming now is P8 and your P8 house is designed to take advantage of the 8-white earth star, but by 2024, 8-star will no longer be timely or auspicious.  Flying Star has some methods to "change the period" of a house to rejuvenate the qi or energy of the house (to be discussed in the video).

Bazhai or 8-Mansions Feng Shui does not really care about the period of a house and neither adhere to the concept of changing the period of a house.  The primary concern is the main door and bedroom are put in one of the four auspicious sectors of the house.  Some versions of Bazhai Feng Shui may incorporate the Purple White annual chart to explain the activation of events. 

Basic Bagua Feng Shui cares about the concept of period but has no provision of changing the period of a house.  It does, however, suggesting moving the door to the auspicious direction of the current period, i.e., for Period 8, put door in the northeast and Period 9, put door in the south. 

Purple White Feng Shui also cares about the period concept but has no mention of changing the period of a house.  Similarly to Flying Star, it suggests putting the door in the timely or auspicious star location. 

HOW TO CHANGE THE PERIOD OF A HOUSE

There are many methods to change the "period" or "heaven's heart" of a house.  Below are some traditional methods:

1.  Make a hole in the roof above the center of the house and let sunshine shine through for certain number of days (from 7, 49 or 100 days, depending on Feng Shui school).

2.  Move away and let the house empty for certain number of days (from 49- 100 days).

Get-rich-quick with your own "Annual Feng Shui/ Luck Predictions" seminars?

Have you ever attended some inexpensive live seminars for "Annual Feng Shui/ luck Predictions" and ended up purchasing a few thousand U.S. dollars' worth of Feng Shui remedies like white pagoda, Jurassic animals and/ or courses?

Today is your ultra lucky day if your answer is "yes".  This article discloses the little not-so-dirty secret of how to make annual predictions. 

ANNUAL CHARTS
In Li-qi or formula Feng Shui systems like Purple White, Flying Star, QMDJ and the likes use an "nnual chart" to calculate the change of energy or qi distributions of 8 major directions.

This annual distribution of energies is determined by the star "flying" (or "rotation" of 9 different stars) into the center palace.  The movement of these 9 stars follows the Lao-shu pattern.  Hence, once we know the center star of each year, we can draw out the annual chart of that year and make your own "annual predictions" easily using the nature of 9-stars and your own imaginations.

There are only 9 flying stars and hence 9 possible annual charts.  This means after you have done 9 annual predictions, you can claim to be an environment conscious person by recycling the old charts, predictions and cut down your workload. Hopefully your past attendees have forgotten that they already have paid for the same info once or more (Disclosure:  This is how I do my annual "minimal Feng Shui guide".  Sorry, no return or refund for your "clicks").

There are a few methods to calculate the center star based on different centuries.  Below is one simple method.

Year 1900 to 1999:  Use 10 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year. For example, Year 1989= 8+ 9= 17; 1+7=8  (reduce the total to a single digit number); center star for 1989= 10 - 8 =2
Year 2000 to 2099:  Use 9 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year. For example, Year 2019= 1+ 9= 10; 1+0=1  (reduce the total to a single digit number); center star for 2019= 9 - 1 = 8
Year 2100 to 2199:  Use 8 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 2200 to 2299:  Use 7 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.

How about the center stars of previous centuries?

Year 1800 to 1899:  Use 11 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1700 to 1799:  Use 12 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1600 to 1699:  Use 13 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1500 to 1599:  Use 14 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1400 to 1499:  Use 15 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1300 to 1399:  Use 16 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1200 to 1299:  Use 17 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year.
Year 1100 to 1199:  Use 11 to subtract the total from the last 2 digits of the year. 

"Ken,  we were not born before year 1100 and most of us will not live through 2100, why bother giving us so many centuries of calculations?"

The ones for year 1100 to 2000 are for you to do historical Feng Shui audit/ detective work.  For example, you want to check a major historical fire of 1777 of an ancient palace was related to Feng Shui or not.  With its sitting and facing direction, you can generate its Feng Shui charts and tie to the annual chart of 1777 when the fire had happened.   Year 2000 to 2299 data is to protect our descendants for generations to come from "annual prediction" marketing because they can DIY.
