"Excess Code" in Bazi “多”字诀

The "Excess Code" in Bazi summarizes the potential consequence of an excessive transformation star or "10-gods" in a Bazi chart.  "Excess" means three or more of a certain star showing up in a chart.

Below is the code:

财多愚,才多劳;

  • Excessive -wealth (pian-cai) = stupidity
  • Excessive +wealth (zheng-cai) = working hard for money

官多贱,杀多死;

  • Excessive +power (zheng-guan) = humble/low life
  • Excessive -power (qi-sha) = illness, injury or even death

印多孤,枭多凶;

  • Excessive +resource (zheng-zin) = loneliness/ alone
  • Excessive -resource (pian-zin) = ominous

食多愁,伤多害;

  • Excessive -output (shi-shen) = worrisome
  • Excessive +output (shang-guan) = troublesome/ harmful

刃多残,劫多败,

  • Excessive yang-knife/ -peer (jie-cai) = disability/ handicap
  • Excessive +peer (bi-jian) = failures

禄多贫;马多奔波,

  • Excessive +peer (bi-jian) = poverty
  • Excessive travelling horses (yin, shen, si or hai) = running about, toiling

冲多不安,合多热情;

  • Excessive clashes = instability, insecurity
  • Excessive combinations = warmth, passionate, sociable

阳多坦荡,阴多深沉;

  • More yang than yin pillars = open, honest and non-calculative
  • More yin than yang pillars =  sullen and introvert personality

墓库多克六亲。

  • Numerous tombs/storages (chen, xu, chou and wei) = jinxing close relatives

Like most codes in Bazi and Feng Shui, this code does NOT give the context or conditions for application.  But it is not difficult to figure out because there are likely only two possibilities-- whether the star is favorable or not favorable.

Prediction of clashing day and hour pillar 命局日时天克地冲

What is the prediction for a natal chart with clashing or fan-yin of day and hour pillar?
This person is prone to injury and disability.

Usually in Bazi, a chart with a single Jia-wood or Ding-fire denotes disability.

Why this day and hour pillar fan-yin is likely showing disability?  This is not easy to explain from Bazi theory other than basing on chart-reading experience.

Below are the pairs of day and hour pillars fan-yin to each other:
  • Jia-zi day and geng-wu hour
  • Wu-chen day and ren-xu hour
  • Ji-si day and yi-hai hour
  • Geng-wu day and bing-zi hour
  • Jia-xu-day and geng-chen hour
  • Yi-hai day and xin-si hour
  • Ji-mao day and gui-you hour
  • Geng-chen day and bing-xu hour
  • Yi-you day and ji-mao hour
  • Bing-xu day and ren-chen hour
  • Geng-yin day and jia-shen hour
  • Xin-mao day and ding-you hour
  • Bing-shen day and geng-yin hour
  • Ding-yin day and gui-mao hour
  • Xin-chou day and yi-wei hour
  • Ren-yin day and wu-shen hour
  • Ding-wei day and xin-chou hour
  • Ren-zi day and bing-wu hour
  • Gui-chou day and ji-wei hour
  • Ding-si day and xin-hai hour
  • Ji-wei day and yi-chou hour
  • Gui-hai day and ding-si hour
The prediction of the disability type depends on the elemental clashes involved.  But at the least, an injury had occurred with scars left behind on the body of the chart owner.  So from now on, when you see a chart with day and hour pillar fan-yin, you can ask the client if s/he has some sort of disability or at the least, scars due to injury.

"Single Ding-fire or lone Jia-wood implies blindness or lameness" 单丁独甲不瞎也跛

In traditional China, street Bazi readers, especially the blind ones, has a saying:
"Single Ding or lone Jia implies lameness or blindness."  (单丁独甲,脚跛眼瞎)
"Male is scare of single ding and female is afraid of lone jia." (男怕单丁女怕独甲)

What it means is:  when a Bazi birth chart has only one ding-fire and/ or one jia-wood, the chart owner ("daymaster" or DM) is likely blind or lame.  Further extended meanings are:  DM or DM's close relative is likely to have chronic or long term illness or disability.

"Chronic or long term illness" refers to illnesses that have no cure but require long term care and medication like hypertension, heart diseases, stomach ulcer, asthma and the likes.

"Disability" here refers to missing a certain body parts like chopped finger, facial scars, broken limbs and the like.

If ding-fire or jia-wood represents +output star (shang-guan) or power stars (zheng-guan/ qi-sha), the disability or injury will be a major one.  If not, the effect will be minor.

This "single ding and lone jia" theory is not based on any logic but empirical observations.  People with this chart condition, they or their close relative are likely blind, lame or suffering long term illness.  If they have not run into this problem during their younger years, they are likely to suffer such event during middle or old age.

You can check if your Bazi birth chart has single ding or lone jia easily even if you know nothing about Bazi.  Simply log into www.bazi-calculator.com, key in your birth day and birth hour and click the "calculate" box.  Then you check the Bazi chart in the left side of the screen for red box or green box like the ones shown here.

If you have only one red ding-fire box or one green jia-wood box OR you have 1 red ding-fire and one green jia-wood box-- you hit the minor misfortune jackpot.  If you have 2 or more red ding-fire boxes or 2 or more green jia-wood boxes, you are OK.

There are Bazi guidelines to decipher:
  • who suffers (the chart owner or his/her close relative)?
  • which type of illness?
  • where in the body (organ or body part) suffers?
These guidelines are posted in my Bazi discussion lists.

"I am his eyes"

He-chi Daily of Guang-Xi Province in China has published a photo essay about a 70+ years old couple in mid April, 2015.  The essay become viral and was carried by numerous Chinese print and digital media around the world.

Wei is the 76 years old wife.  Huang is the 80 years old husband.  They have been married 55 years ago.

On the day of their wedding, Huang had promised to take care of Wei for life.
我管你这辈子了。

"I will depend on you forever."  Replied Wei.
这辈子我也就依靠你了。

The couple live on a small plot of land and raise some chicken and ducks.  They have been living in poverty through out their lives.  The longest trip that they made is to the nearby county fair which is within walking distance.

They have no children.

In 1985, Huang had eye problems and gradually lost his eyesight.  Wei becomes his eyes and takes him around town using a bamboo stick.  She tells him what she sees on the roads and updates him on the gossips in their village.

It is 30 years since Huang had gone blind.  Aging also catches up with Wei.  She has osteoporosis and walks with a stooped posture that limits her field of view.  But this disability does not stop her from being the "walking stick" of her husband.  The touching sight of this affectionate couple walking together with a bamboo stick becomes a famous scene of the town.

A thought-provoking view for everyone within their path

Wei is an illiterate and let Huang make financial calculations and decisions on the buying and selling of their daily necessities and produces.
The couple discuss what to buy.

Wei took out money to buy cigarettes for Huang

They walk together across the bridge

.... walking together on beaten path

... and up the hills

walking downstairs

"I'm his eyes.  He is all of me!"

For the past 55 years, Wei listens to and abides by her husband.  She does not give up nor abandon him.  "I am his eyes.  He is all of me!"  Said Wei.
55年来,韦桂义对丈夫言听计从、不离不弃。我是他的眼睛,他是我的全部!韦桂义说.

Neither poverty nor physical disabilities could break their promises to each other.

Love can be as simple as staying together.
