Day pillars that are prone to marital disharmony 婚姻不顺日柱

A Bazi natal chart consists of  year, month, day and hour "pillars" derived from the birthday and birth hour of an individual.  Each pillar has a "stem" and "branch".  The stem of day pillar represents the "daymaster" (DM) or the chart owner.  The branch of day pillar is the "spouse palace" which represents DM's spouse.  Bazi reading sometimes uses only the day pillar to predict a person's marital blessing or problems.

Please check the Appendix below if you do not know how to calculate your day pillar.

There are 60 possible day pillars.  The list below shows specific day pillars that tend to have more marital problems and disharmonies: 

1.  Day pillar with yang-ren (yang-knife): hurts or jinxes spouse
Male day-pillars with Ren-zi and Bing-wu; female with Ding-si and Gui-hai-- have unsettling marital relationship.   If the branch element is unfavorable-- DM's spouse may be maimed or even died.  If favorable, spouse is helpful but still prone to disability or chronic illness.
 
2.  Day pillar sits on peer star (bi-jian/ jie-cai):  spouse is prone to affair
DM sits on peer star means someone similar to DM sitting in spouse palace with your spouse.  This means spousal infidelity.   Here are the day pillars sitting on peer star:  Jia-yin, Yi-mao, Wu-chen, Wu-xu, Ji-wei, Ji-chou, Geng-shen and Xin-you.

However, if peer star is favorable, this means DM and spouse are united, helpful and sharing same ideals.  If unfavorable, spouse likes to cheat and gives money to his/ her lover.

3.  Day pillar with stem and branch battling each other: disharmony
Since day stem represent DM and day branch the spouse.  When this stem and branch battle each other means disharmony and lacking effective communication.  Here are the day pillars with battling stem and branch:  Jia-shen, Jia-xu, Yi-you, Bing-shen, Ding-you, Wu-yin, Geng-yin, Xin-mao, Ren-xu and Gui-wei.

Battling stem and branch with hidden combination:  This means even the couple does not get along well,  they nonetheless put up with each other due to this hidden combination.   Here are the pillars with hidden combination between stem and branch:  Ding-hai, Wu-zi, Xin-si, Ren-wu, Ji-hai and Gui-si.

4.  Female Day pillar with +output (shang-guan) stem
+Power star (Zheng-guan) is the husband of a female DM.  +Output star "hurts" +power star and sits in spouse palace means jinxing husband.  Day pillar with +output branch are: Jia-wu, Yi-si, Geng-zi and Xin-hai.

Female DM with yang day-pillar stem sitting on -output star (shi-shen) is also considered as hurting husband star.  Here are the yang day pillars with -output branch: Bing-chen, Bing-xu, Wu-shen and Ren-yin.

APPENDIX: FIND A PERSON'S DAY-PILLAR AND DAYMASTER

1.  Log in to www.bazi-calculator.com

2.  In the right-side of the screen panel box, select "Ken Lai Method".  No need to bother with anything else.3.  Key in the guy's birthday and hour in the left side of the screen.  Ignore the right side screen for "date to compare".
4.  Click the "calculate" box to get results.
5.  Scroll down the screen and see his Bazi chart in the left side with a table similar to the one here.
6.  The first box of second column (the one with "day master" in it) shows the elemental nature of his daymaster  (example here is geng-metal in grey color).  Below are the colors of 5 elements:

  • Metal (Geng and Xin) in grey color 
  • Wood (Jia and Yi) in green color
  • Water (Ren and Gui) in blue color
  • Fire (Bing and Ding) in red color 
  • Earth (Wu and Jiin yellow color
