Bazi: Is a strong daymaster better than a weak one?

The first step of a Bazi reading is to determine if the client has a "strong" or "weak" daymaster (DM) by counting the supporting and non-supporting elements in the birth chart.  "Daymaster" is a term for describing the owner of a Bazi chart.

Unfortunately, the terms "strong DM" and "weak DM" seem to infuse value judgment to some clients.  They may think a "strong daymaster" is better than a "weak" one.

While there are some distinct personality and physical characteristics associated with strong and weak DM, they are by no means "better" or "worse" but "different". 

The ultimate yardstick to measure, regardless of DM strength ("weak" or "strong"), is if there are more favorable than unfavorable luck periods (10-years-luck) in a chart.  For example, the favorable elements of a strong metal person are non-supporting elements like fire, wood and water.  Unfavorable elements are supporting elements like metal and earth.

If this strong metal DM has mostly metal and earth luck periods, especially during his first few 10-year-luck periods, this DM will not have a good life.

On the other hand, if this is a weak metal DM, metal and earth are his favorable elements.  If his luck periods are mostly metal and earth luck, he will enjoy a good life despite being a weak DM.

Similar logic also apply to "chart quality".  One can have the chart of a king but with mostly unfavorable luck periods-- his life will not be better than a born humble person with favorable luck periods.  For examples, King Louis XVI was guillotined during the French Revolution and Tsar Nicholas II was assassinated in 1918.

"Good luck periods are more important than a good birth chart" is the saying in Bazi.

Could getting married change your luck? 结婚转运?

"Change luck" here means someone has less than average or low luck before marrying.  His/ her luck changes significantly after getting married.

In general, people who have low or below average luck during their teen and early adult life have strong unfavorable elements in the year and month pillar of their Bazi charts.  This is because year and month pillar represent these age periods and also family background.

In addition, more than likely, their first two or three10-years-luck periods are mostly unfavorable too. 

People who will get better luck after getting married IF their Bazi charts have the following features:

1.  Spouse star is favorable in the chart:  For male, the spouse star is wealth star (zheng-cai) and female is power star (zheng-guan).
2.  Spouse palace (day-branch) is favorable:  This means the element occupying spouse palace is favorable to the chart.

Of course, there are people with their luck changed for the better after marrying but does not have the above two features in their charts.  This is likely due to their 10-years-luck is favorable at time of marriage and is NOT attributed to the act of marrying.

Smart readers would figure out that the opposites of #1 and 2 in a chart mean worse (not better) luck after getting married!

Feng Shui: Wealth-losing doors 破财门

Door location and its surrounding critically affect the Feng Shui of a house, especially its wealth aspect.  Below is a list of "wealth-losing doors" based on Form Feng Shui.  How these doors affecting wealth losses is not discussed here to keep this blog short. 

WEALTH-LOSING DOORS
1.  Door facing a corridor (inside a building) or road:  this is also called "heart-piercing sha" (一剑穿心 ).
2.  Door facing a downward or upward stair:  this is called "wealth retreating stair" (退财梯).  Downward stair leaks wealth whereas upward stair loses wealth opportunities to others.
3.  Door facing an elevator:  this is called "qi or energy absorbing stair" (吸气梯).  Qi or wealth energy of a house or apartment is "drawn" away by the elevator.
4.  Two or more doors in a straight-line to end of house or backdoor/ window:  Wealth energy from outside goes straight to outside of house.
5.  Door is too narrow or small, thus limiting wealth energy flow into the house.
6.  Door is damaged, broken or has cracks:  this is called "qi-leaking door" (漏气门) and implying leaking wealth.
7.  "See-three door" (三见门):  "Three" here means seeing toilet, kitchen and mirror when entering through the door.  All are not good for wealth energy.

Remedies for these doors are mostly using screen doors.  Consult a Feng Shui practitioner or take my Form Feng Shui course for remedies.

Protection from earthquake 唐东杰布抗地震咒轮

I had planned to post this talisman yesterday but cancelled in the last minute.  Then Los Angeles has a pretty strong earthquake this morning.....

HOW TO USE THIS TALISMAN
1.  Print out the color or mono-color talisman in whatever size you want.  For examples, wallet size for carrying around with you or page size to be put in your altar or wall facing the main door.
2.  Activate the talisman by making a donation to your favorite charity/ food-shelf or doing a good deed like feeding a homeless person or stray animal ("exchange of energy").
3.  Carry the talisman with you or put it in your altar (or wall facing main door).

How to avoid marrying a wife who will jinx you

How?  Simply check your potential wife's birth chart to see if it matches any of the followings.  The more her chart matches the  entries below, the faster you should run away.

HUSBAND-JINXING FEMALE BAZI CHART CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Shang-guan (+output) sits in spouse palace (day-branch):  +Output is the "enemy" of husband star (+power).  This is especially "jinxing" if +output is unfavorable in the chart.
2. Zheng-guan (+power, husband) sits next to a shang-guan (+output) star in the chart.
3. Chart has weak +power star in stem level with output luck periods during adult life period will likely jinx husband.
4. There is a "3-penalties" involving spouse palace in the chart.  It is worse if +power or husband star is part of the 3-penalties elements.  This could be death.
5. Chart with +power star entombed implies a weak or short life-expectancy husband.

Spouse jinxing secrets 克妻克夫秘密

According to dictionary.com, jinx as a noun is defined as "a person, thing, or influence supposed to bring bad luck."  Jinx as a verb is someone who "brings bad luck to; places a jinx on...".
 
The Chinese word for jinx is "ke" (克) which literally means "to restraint, subdue or overcome".

However, even many Chinese readers have misunderstood the meaning of jinx and equated it to "jinxing someone to death".

In the context of marriage, spouse-jinxing means the marriage has many problems and issues than average couples.

One way to determine if someone jinxes his/ her spouse is through reading his/ her Bazi birth chart.  Male chart with strong or numerous peer stars (bi-jian/ jie-cai) likely jinxes his wife (and also father).  Female chart with strong or numerous output stars (shi-shen/ shang-guan) likely jinxes her husband.

MANIFESTATIONS OF WIFE/ HUSBAND-JINXING
1.  Problems getting married, late marriage or even remain single.
2.  Disharmony between the couple after marrying; argue and fight all the time.
3.  Separated due to career/ work or relationship problem.
4.  Extended period of sex life issues.
5.  Domestic violence (by husband or wife).
6.  Husband or wife has chronic or severe illness.
7.  Divorce.
8.  Spouse had died prematurely (before age 60).
9.  The divorced husband/ wife will likely remarry someone who has also divorced.
10.  Someone whose spouse had died prematurely, when remarrying, s/he like will marry someone who will die prematurely too.

If a person's chart shows "jinxing" certain family member, it is NOT that person causing the death or misfortune of that member.  It is the destiny of that member regardless who runs into that position (as in the context of marriage).

Husband Affairs Feng Shui 老公偷情风水

The Feng Shui arrangements below may give rise to husband affairs:

1.  Putting flowers in NW sector of house:  NW is Qian palace in Feng Shui and stands for husband.  Flowers can represent females.

2.  Dry and empty flower vase:  This item may attract husband affair especially when it is put in NW (Qian) or east (Zhen) sector of the house. 

3.  Wealth positions exposed to light:  Wealth also represents woman.  When the wealth position of a house is exposed to light, it means the position is near a window, door or hallway.  The husband likes to show off his wealth and attracts other females.  

4.  Fish-tank put in ESE (Mao mountain):  Mao is one of the 4 peach-blossom elements and also part of Zhen palace (East) sector.  Zhen represents male sex organ and water for lust. Your hubby can have "fun" when all these items are in the right places.


5.  Water tap faces door:  Water tap is the imagery of a male sex organ and door for female.  House with water tap facing door or water tap outside the house is prone to affairs or husband does not returns home at night.  

6.  Bed sits on west sector or Dui palace:  In terms of marriage, Dui stands for mistress, concubine or lover.  If a couple's bed is located on Dui palace, husband may think about extra-marital activities.

7.  Lust or sexual object in left side of bed:  Left side represents green dragon or husband and right side white tiger or wife in Feng Shui.  If left side of bed has art objects or pictures that are sexual in nature, the sexual energy may steer husband to affairs.

8.  Bedroom has "room within a room":  This is the image of a concubine or second wife.  This room within a room can be a study or any room.
