House center Feng Shui is very important!

Typical Feng Shui audit or courses focus on door, bedroom, kitchen, interior design/ placement and external environment. They seldom examine or place sufficient attention on the house center or center palace of the house.

Where is the center of a house? Is it a virtual "point" or a "palace"? The center point can be calculated using geometry over house plan.

House center is important because it is like the "heart" or "energy reactor" of the house. Improper placement or design will affect the health and fortune of occupants.

Below are center palace Feng Shui precautions:

Center should be kept clean: do not put garbage can, pet house/ litter or clutters there. If there is filthy smell in the center, it can easily spread around the house.
Center should be quiet with no movement-- do not put electric appliance there to create electric or sound wave. This may disrupt the qi flow of the house.
Center should be bright and not dark-- this affect family luck. Add lighting if center is not bright enough.
No stairway in center-- this is considered a Feng Shui sha. It is like someone walking on the heart of this house. It causes accidents, gossips, illness and obstacles to the residents.
No fishtank or moving water in center-- center palace is like the "heart" of a house. Heart is "fire" in Bazi and TCM. Water extinguishes fire. House with water feature in center palace is likely to create heart problems for the residents.
No large plants in center palace-- center palace is earth in nature in pre-heaven bagua. Plant is wood which controls earth.
No kitchen in center-- center is the "heart" of the house. Kitchen and heart are both fire in nature. But frequent cooking will make fire too strong and create heart and blood problems for the residents.
No bathroom or toilet in center-- This is the worst for house center. House center is the "heart" and also energy circulation center and dislikes pollution from a toilet. I have seen a few cases of resident (mostly breadwinner of the house) with toilet in house center died of terminal illness. There are limited cures-- ask your teacher or take:

Feng Shui: Bad locations for bathroom

There was no plumbing in ancient China, bathroom was put outside the house. With modern plumbing and flush toilet, bathroom is integrated into the house interior.

Bathroom is important in Feng Shui because it is where wastes or negative qi/ energy accumulates and removed. Every resident in a house uses the bathroom everyday. The location of bathroom affects the health and luck of the residents of the household.

The locations below are where NOT to put your bathroom:

Southwest location: This is the location of Kun trigram in Feng Shui. It represents the oldest female or mother of the house. A bathroom in this location will affect the health and luck of the mother. It also affects marital relationship of the couple.
Northwest location: This is the location of Qian trigram in Feng Shui. It represents the oldest male or father of the house. A bathroom in this location will affect the health and luck of the father. It also affects marital relationship of the couple and career of the father.
Northeast location: This is the location of Gen trigram in Feng Shui. It represents the youngest male or son of the house. A bathroom in this location will affect the health and luck of this son. Gen trigram also represents the current Feng Shui Period 8 luck for the house. This may affect the overall luck of the household.
South location: This is the location of Li trigram in Feng Shui. It represents the middle daughter or 30+ years old female of the house. A bathroom in this location will affect the health and luck of this female mother. Li trigram is fire in nature and bathroom is water in nature. This will create water and fire clashes that may give rise to disasters and accidents to the residents.
Center location: This is the worst location for a bathroom. Center is like the "heart" of a house and should be kept quiet, clean, minimized movements, no heavy objects, no staircase and no bathroom. Sickness like heart problem and acute illness may occur to the residents if a bathroom is put in this location. This is also the most difficult problem to fix here. Walk away if you find a new house with a bathroom in the house center.
