Feng Shui Battle: Flying Scissors Vs. Big Cannon 大炮對飛剪

 

A house owner in China had found his neighbor putting up a pair of sharp scissors and mirror facing his front door.  He had responded with a big cannon pointing at the neighbor.

From the pictures, we can guess how this Feng Shui battle is activated.

The "cannon house" has a big 6 panels RED door with 2 lions guarding.  In terms of Form Feng Shui, this red door looks like a giant bloody mouth engulfing anything in its path to this neighbor.  This might, at the least, subconsciously affects the hormonal health of the neighbor.

Red color is regarded as auspicious in Chinese culture.  However, putting too much or excessive red color in the main door of a house could draw misfortune to its residents.  

Red also represents fire and blood.  Misfortunes like sickness, fire and bloody events when annual star like 2-sickness, 5-disaster or 9-purple fire lands on the door region.  

Could the flying scissors with mirror overcome this strong fire energy?  Of course not.  Fire burns the metal scissors.  The mirror is flat which draws the fire image (and energy) TO the "scissor house".  Hence the "cannon house" does not really need the cannon to counter this flying scissors.  But it helps to drain excessive fire energy by "burning" the metal cannon.

No digging zones in 2023

 
Year of Tiger will end in two months.  Next year will be the Year of Rabbit with its own "no digging or construction" zones that may be still "diggable" before Feb. 4, 2023.

Below is a quick review of "no-digging zones" for 2023 Year of Rabbit:

1. East or Mao mountain is the Grand Duke location
2. East or Zhen palace is the location of 2-black sickness star
3. West or Dui palace are the locations of San-sha (3-killings)
4. Northwest or Qian palace is the location of 5-yellow disaster star

In short, do not dig in the East, Northwest and West sectors in 2023 or serious disasters and misfortune may strike.  There are some Feng Shui and date-selection methods to circumvent it.  

You either dig these locations before the end of this Tiger Year or consult a Feng Shui practitioner if you will dig these locations next year.  Here is a reminder of the "no-digging zones" for current year: North, Northeast, Southwest and center palace.

2021 Minimalist Feng Shui Guide

A picture is better than a thousand words.  You get essential Feng Shui guidance for 2021 in a glance here.   

People with ram and ox animal sign should avoid seeing corpse being put into coffin or lowering into the tomb.

Remedy for 5-yellow disaster (in SE this year) and 2-black sickness star (in North)-- copper or brass objects.  No fire or red object and avoid movements in these regions.

West region (8 wealth star) is good for money this year.  Sleep or sit there more often to attract wealth.

If your house is facing NE1 (Chou mountain) or Grand Duke direction, you may need to avoid movement there or Grand Duke talisman from your local Daoist temple or from me (please check my post on Grand Duke Talisman).

If you need to do construction in the forbidden regions of this year, you need to find a Feng Shui practitioner to do a date-selection or at the least, do NOT start digging at the forbidden direction.

Move away or relocate your Feng Shui cures or monsters for 2020 before Feb. 4, 2021.

Avoid the Coronavirus the Feng Shui Way

Here is a simple method to reduce the probability of catching the Coronavirus in pubic places using Feng Shui principle. 

The annual 5-yellow disaster star is in the east and "death gate" is in the north for current year of 2020.  With this info, you can do the following to reduce the chance of catching the virus: 

• avoid going to east or north side 
• within a building or social gathering, avoid sitting in the east or north side

The most dangerous period is, especially the east side: 

• March 5 to April 3, 2020

This is because the monthly 5-yellow disaster star is also in the east and doubles the power of the disaster star.  We already have seen the number of confirmed cases skyrocketed around the globe in early March.

If the virus does not go away in hot weather like the SARS, the additional dangerous period will be: 

• June 5 to July 5, 2020 

Besides avoid going out during the dangerous periods and directions, you still need to wash your hands often and use a face-mask if you to avoid getting the virus.

Feng Shui Fountain can be hazardous to your .....

Water fountain can be hazardous to your health, life, pocket book, relationship and more. Why?  Keep reading.

One major attraction of Feng Shui is "wang cai" or wealth enhancement.  The common practice is to put moving object like a water fountain in the annual wealth star 8-white earth location to enhance wealth luck.  For 2018, this location was in a house's southeast sector, the center for 2019 and northwest for 2020.

In other words, the wealth star moves or changes location every year, so you have to move the fountain to get the wealth energy.  The original location will be replaced by other stars which could be potentially negative like the 5-yellow disaster or 2-black earth sickness star.

Imagine someone with a "5-minute enthusiasm" in Feng Shui and forgets about moving the fountain and/or Feng Shui-- sooner or later, usually within 2- 3 years, a negative star will sit in the water fountain location.  Constant water movement may activate the negativity of that current star.  For example, 5-yellow disaster star may bring bad wealth luck if one is "lucky" or major illness, accident or even death if  unlucky.

For example, if someone had put a water fountain in his southeast sector to enhance wealth in 2018 and then forgot about the fountain, from the annual star tables above, you can see the 7-robbery star occupies that location in 2019, the most inauspicious 5-yellow disaster star will sit in that location in 2021 and 2-black sickness star in 2024.   The water fountain movement may activate the viciousness of these negative stars.  The table below is taken from my "Practical Door Feng Shui" for explaining the nature of 9 major stars in Feng Shui:

Remove your water fountain if you are no longer keen on Feng Shui or move it to the new 8-white earth star location once a year.  Leaving an unattended water fountain in a location is like "putting worms in your ass" (a Cantonese slang for self-inflicted injury.  It is graphic, but I think you will likely remember it).

Feng Shui of Clock Placement

The essence of Feng Shui is about balance of static and dynamic elements around our living environment.

According to Yi-jing ("Book of Changes", the source of Chinese civilization),  "Auspiciousness and inauspiciousness are generated from movements 吉凶悔咎生乎动).  Hence the placement of moving objects in any location, especially inside your home, could affect the well-being of residents much faster than stationary objects.  Items like fish-tank, water-fountain, clocks and the like should be placed with great caution.

For this post, the focus is on clocks, but the principles for other moving objects are similar.

FENG SHUI PRECAUTIONS FOR CLOCK PLACEMENT

1.  One clock per room/location:  Too many clocks within a room will confuse the energy there.  People may feel uneasy or distressed.
2.  Clock shapes:  should be square/ rectangular or circular shaped.  Avoid triangular, hexagon and octagon shapes.  Odd-shaped clocks could generate bickering and arguments.
3.  Bed room clocks:  should be small and not too big.  Big clocks may cause distress and frequent separations for the couple.
4.  Big or grand-father clocks are not suitable for small home.  It creates imbalance visually and energetically.
5.  Clock should be placed in auspicious location and facing inauspicious direction to block and convert negative energy.
6.  Do not put movement (clock!) in 5-yellow disaster and 2-black sickness star locations or you will suffer disasters or sickness.  Exception is the grandfather clock with brass/copper bells which is the remedy of 5-yellow and 2-black stars.

Surviving construction at 5-yellow disaster star location

A few weeks ago, I was waken up by loud machinery noises of cutting and hammering from outside my home.  I went out and found that my dragon side (left) neighbor has contracted a construction firm to replace the vinyl siding and roof of his house.  Both were damaged by a hail storm earlier and insurance pays for the repair.  Essentially this neighbor has a "skin replacement" for his house.

Besides waking me up early for a week or more (I am a night owl), the biggest problem I see was a big part of his house is in the north-east side of my house.  5-yellow disaster star is in the NE this year.  Excessive noises and movement may instigate the wrath of this star, causing injury, accident, losing wealth and even death.

5-yellow star is earth in nature, the fix usually is metal or coin-salt solution.

I have searched my house for possible remedies and found a gold-colored calabash and some Chinese Qian-long coins.  Qian-long was one of the emperors during China's Qing Dynasty. This combination should do the job.

Normally I put six coins in a circle shape to neutralize 5-yellow star.  I was too lazy to take 6 coins out of my string inventory of coins.  So I have used all the coins (around 60) in the string and put it on top of the calabash.  I put this remedy combination in the NE region facing the construction site.   You may use your own local copper or brass coins instead.  Just make sure the denomination of the coin is not 25 cents, 5 cents, two dollars or 5 dollars each.

This roofing and siding job has taken about 10 days.  I am still in one piece and no major mishaps happened.  However, my sales suffered during the period.  But this is still better than losing an arm or leg.  You win some and lose some.

Misplaced Feng Shui Fountain Can Kill you

Other than money and sex, this heading should get your attention.

Feng Shui fountain is used to "enhance" the wealth water star in Flying Star Feng Shui.  Water symbolizes wealth in Feng Shui and moving water to model flowing wealth energy.  In Period 7 (1984- 2003),  the wealth star is the 7-white metal star.  For Period 8 (2004-2023), it is the 8-white earth star.

However, 7-white metal star becomes the "robber" star after 2003.  Make sure you remove your Feng Shui fountains designed for the 7-white metal star enhancement if you forget to do so.

Some people get very excited when they are told or read that Feng Shui fountain can enhance their wealth luck with proper placement.  They may think that Feng Shui fountains are like oil diggers, the more diggers (or fountains) you put out, the more oil (or wealth) one can extract from the universe.

Some people try to put as many Feng Shui fountains inside their houses as possible.  But how?  Because normally one can only put one fountain in the current Feng Shui Period's wealth star location, it is difficult to put more than 2.

By using the concept of  "Every object has its own Tai-ji (center, universe)",  every room in a house can be treated as a single Feng Shui entity with its own wealth star location.  In Feng Shui jargon, some people use the small Tai-ji of individual room within a house to squeeze in more Feng Shui water fountains.

I have seen people put water fountain in their bedrooms.

"Ken, cut the craps.  How does Feng Shui fountain kill us?"

According to Yi-jing (Book of Changes),  "Auspiciousness, inauspiciousness, fortune and misfortune are attributable to movements."

Every house inevitably has some sectors or "palaces" that are auspicious and some sectors that are inauspicious. Basic Feng Shui principle is to arrange movements or activities in auspicious sectors and minimize movements in inauspicious sectors.

By putting a Feng Shui fountain in almost every sector of a house, even using the small Tai-ji trick, one will invariably put movements in a sector that should have minimal movements-- like sectors with 5-yellow disaster star, 7-robber star or 2-sickness star.

When annual star like 2 or 5 lands on sector with 2 or 5 with a running water fountain, it could activate the negativity of 5-yellow disaster star.  Star combinations of 2-5, 5-5 or 5-2 are especially dangerous. Someone can get seriously sick or accident or even death.

One may misplace numerous non-movable Feng Shui paraphernalia like ki-lun, dragon-turtle, calabash or the likes without serious consequence.  But not with moving water.

Effects of moving water can be swift and merciless.

I have seen some people do DIY water-dragon (water drains network) and become sick or broke for years.

Borrowing from the "no-smoking" message from the late Yul Brynner:  "Don't play with moving water,  whatever you do, just don't play with moving water."

Hire an experienced Feng Shui practitioner to handle your moving water issues. If you want to keep it simple, remove all Feng Shui fountains from your house.
