Avoid "Double Deaths" days for funerals 重丧日

It is not unusual to read from the news that some families have serial or multiple deaths within a short period of time-- whether due to natural or tragic causes or both.

Besides explanations of bad luck, destiny or misfortune, one possible reason is something goes wrong with the funeral date.

In Chinese date-selection, there are days deemed "double-deaths" (重丧日) days.  If a deceased family member was buried in one of this "double-deaths" days, at least one more death will likely happen within a year.

The follow days are the "double-deaths" dates.  They are in terms of lunar month and days in binomials.  Check the appendix below shows how you can check if a funeral date is a double-deaths day.

Avoid a "double-deaths" day for funeral like plaque.

Minimal date-selection for the masses

Note:  The following is an excerpt from the "Days to avoid" chapter of  my "Practical Date-Selection Methods" video course.  It is modified here for people who cannot afford this video course for the time being. So they can at least avoid some bad dates.

DAYS TO AVOID

Regardless of the date-selection system you are using, you should not use certain days within a year.  Remove these days from your consideration will reduce the number of days to analyse.

Generally, it is still possible to use these days IF other methods say that they are good. In particular, you may use them if the four pillar analysis shows that the day is strong in your favorable element and some other date-selection methods, like XKDG also approves it.

There are 7 types of days to be avoided:

1.      Year Breaker (Sui Po)

2.      Month Breaker (Yue Po)

3.      Day Breaker (Ri Po)

4.      Big Consumption (Da Hao)

5.      Yearly San Sha

6.      Monthly San Sha

7.      Daily San Sha

For simplicity and practical purposes, we will cover only year, month and day breaker here plus an important tip at the end of this message (the course manual covers everything listed above).  This should be suffice for common applications.  The goal here is not choosing the best date but to avoid bad dates, which is much easier to do for non-professionals.  No bad things happen to you is the next best thing to good things happen.

Year Breaker (Sui Po)

If you use a year breaker day:

·        Frustrations. Things do not flow.

·        Arguments and conflicts.

·        Business negotiations will be unsuccessful.

·        Contracts and marriages are unsuccessful.

YEAR BREAKER DAYS

Year  branch	Animal	YEAR BREAKER Day Branch Year  Branch	Animal	YEAR BREAKER Day Branch
Zi	Mouse	Wu  (horse) Wu	Horse	Zi  (rat)
Chou	Ox	Wei (ram) Wei	Ram	Chou  (ox)
Yin	Tiger	Shen (monkey) Shen	Monkey	Yin  (tiger)
Mao	Rabbit	You (rooster) You	Rooster	Mao (rabbit)
Chen	Dragon	Xu  (dog) Xu	Dog	Chen (dragon)
Si	Snake	Hai  (pig) Hai	Pig	Si  (snake)

E.g. 2015 is a Yi Wei  (ram)  year.  Wei (ram) clashes Chou (ox). Avoid Chou (ox) days.

If possible, avoid using the month that breaks the year as well.  In some scenarios,  you  may not be able to avoid a whole month if the activity or event must be held within the month.

Month Breaker (Yue Po)

If you use the month breaker day:

·        Frustrations. Things do not flow.

·        Arguments and conflicts.

·        Business negotiations will be unsuccessful.

·        Contracts and marriages are unsuccessful.

MONTH BREAKER DAYS

Month  Branch	MONTH BREAKER Day Branch Month  Branch	Month breaker Day Branch
Zi	Wu  (horse) Wu	Zi  (rat)
Chou	Wei (ram) Wei	Chou  (ox)
Yin	Shen (monkey) Shen	Yin  (tiger)
Mao	You (rooster) You	Mao (rabbit)
Chen	Xu  (dog) Xu	Chen (dragon)
Si	Hai  (pig) Hai	Si  (snake)

E.g. May 12, 2015. This is a Xin Si (snake) month. Si (snake) clashes Hai (pig). Avoid Hai (pig) days within the Si (snake) month during the year.

Day Breaker (Ri Po)

This is slightly different from Sui Po and Yue Po. The day is broken by the animal sign of the hour. This is relatively minor, compared to the other two breakers.

If you use a day breaker hour:

·        Frustrations. Things do not flow.

·        Arguments and conflicts.

·        Business negotiations will be unsuccessful.

·        Contracts and marriages are unsuccessful.

DAY BREAKER HOURS

Day  Branch	DAY BREAKER Hour Branch Day  Branch	DAY BREAKER Hour Branch
Zi	Wu  (horse) Wu	Zi  (rat)
Chou	Wei (ram) Wei	Chou  (ox)
Yin	Shen (monkey) Shen	Yin  (tiger)
Mao	You (rooster) You	Mao (rabbit)
Chen	Xu  (dog) Xu	Chen (dragon)
Si	Hai  (pig) Hai	Si  (snake)

E.g. July 15, 2015. This is a Ren Chen (dragon) day. Chen (dragon) clashes Xu (dog). Avoid Xu  (dog) hour  within a Chen (dragon) day.

How to find or calculate the animal signs of a date and hour?  Simply go to the following website and type in the target date and hour.

http://bazi-calculator.com/

To get the animal signs, you need to click the box options in the top right side of the screen as show here.  That is, choose "Ken Lai Method" and "Pillars: English" options.

You will find the animal listed at the branch (EB) level of the :

Sample Chart showing April 9, 2015; 10:55 am

-- year pillar (to find out your birth animal sign if keying in your birth date;  or if you key in the target date, the year pillar will be the Grand Duke or the animal sign of the year)

-- month pillar  (month animal sign)

-- day pillar  (day animal sign)

-- hour pillar (hour animal sign)

Besides avoiding year, month and day breakers, the date/time chosen should not clash the animal sign/s of the user/s.  If you cannot avoid clashing someone's animal sign in a group situation, simply avoid clashing the principal or bread-winner of the family or company.

To summarize, when choosing a date, avoid clashing:  the current year's Grand Duke (Tai Sui) or animal sign,  the animal sign of the month,  the animal sign of the day and the animal sign of the user or client (dead or alive).

However, for important events and activities, you probably should consult other date-selection methods like XKDG, QMDJ,  4-Pillars and etc., or hire a professional to do the date-selection for you.
